Heh. You are spot on. Sirion had a 6 months of peace period and her military became quite inefficient. Westmoor on the other hand, was hardened from fighting Fontan. I thought they would be a good practice target and the war proved I was right :). Never planned on destroying them though many people in Sirion thought I was going to wipe Westmoor out.

Keeping them from claiming former Fontan lands was quite important as well...

I was born as some furry Yeti-like creature in the Icecaps. Whohoo. Took a while to figure out how to emote but after I started to chew on my bedpost someone actually fed me.

I never felt that we had it that easy either. I believe that when we had about 50k from five realms against us just before Caligus declared war on Westmoor the only thing that saved our bacon was a timely use of the infiltrator ability to turn signposts which caused a large part of the attacking army to arrive late for the battle.

I know that as general I relied quite heavily on the military strength statistics to know exactly how much forces to keep in the north to defend against the Sultanate, while sending everything else down to Fontan. And that is not really possible anymore. Which is good, although as General you use the intelligence available to you.

It should be said though that the old system probably was too easy if you had decent adventuring skill. Just move to an area and wait until you had full hours and then rest one hour at a time until a sage turned up. My record was to hand back a fully repaired item within five minutes it was handed to me. The sage must have stayed at the same inn.

If the one you are tracking have left it is usually a good idea to stay put where you are until you pick up rumours of where he has arrived.

I agree though that repairing high prestige items  takes so long time that your skills start to deteoriate while you're at it. I avoid fighting while on repair missions as losing some nobles beloved item due to battlewounds can be bad for an adventurers health. My adventurer on Atamare has been trying to repair one for well over  a month and only today managed to get it up to 52%. And he is carrying around 59 different kind of Common Items...

BM General Discussion / Re: "Elves"?
« on: August 10, 2012, 03:47:19 PM »
Someone said that the elves in spellmaster from where the Sirionite elves comes were just a variant human race.

I see the Sirion elves as a human variety with a spiritual awareness that stems from the forests in Sirion and that it is only in and in the proximity of these woods it is actually possible to tell an elf and an ordinary human apart.

People keep doing elf characters as the fact that it should be a grandfather rule is well hidden on the wiki and noone ever hears about it until after playing for years and have a well established elven character.

Seems like 3 is the most ;)

Another thing that I would be interested in knowing - what is the hghest rogue group defeated by an adventurer? The most that I have managed is the 7th group, so the benchmarck to beat is quite low:

Working with others I have beaten group 10 after which you have to start a new hunt so thats as high as it goes...

That rule only applies to nobles.

My advies never managed to accumulate more than two items, regardless of type.

Not true, I have been unable to repair stuff for nobles due to already carrying items of that type, although the limit may not apply when you pick stuff up from undead.

My experience (being general of Riombara during most of the time)

Phase 1: All daimons attack Enweil:
We managed to get /all/ human realms (with the exception of Melhed and IVF) to fight jointly in these battles. The humans were outnumbered most of the time - and th daimons had the advantage of being able to recruit close to the battlefields. Still, we managed to kill several daimon armies this way.

What base slander is this?  ??? Melhed fought a long campaign in the south before the blight closed you off.
