Dwilight / SA vs ES

So its been a long time since I played a character with any interest in NW Dwilight and a lot has changed. Since the wiki is practically dead now, I was wondering if someone could explain to me how on earth SA and ES ended up in such a loving relationship? I mean NW Dwilight is just about as peace-locked and boring as its ever been, I would have thought people would be jumping at the possibility of conflict.

Where's a Kabrinski when you need one...

Helpline / Adventurer gear and skills

I understand that adventurer gear limits the application of one's skills, so an adventurer with high swordsmanship but low combat gear cannot fight to the best of his ability. However I was wondering about the exact relationship between the gear and skill.

For example if I have 15% skill does that mean anything less that 15% gear is limiting? or are the percentage not supposed to match exactly?

Helpline / Requirement for Lord?

My character is trying to appoint someone as Lord, but they are not showing up on the list of available candidates. They are not a new member of the realm and they now Have an estate in the region, so I'm not sure what's wrong.

However they only have 2 prestiege and 23 honor, is this what is preventing me from appointing them or is it a bug?

Helpline / Losing Lordships

So how many days of inactivity before you lose your lordships? To mention specifics, would you lose them if you were away for 7 days? Does "vacation pausing" help this?

Helpline / Character creation problem

Ok, so I decide to create a new character in the Far East. I enter name, choose continent and choose a duchy: the Akanos Duchy in Toupellon. It then goes to the next page, giving me the realm summary of Toupellon, and I choose character experience and unit type/name. Then I click the "Create" button.

My character is created in Larodais, Ohnar West. I check my message page and my character page and both tell me that I'm a noble of Larodais, in the Duchy of Akanos, in the realm of Ohnar West. I definitely appear to be a member of Ohnar West, but also a member of the Duchy of Akanos.

So now my character is created in a realm at war with the realm I intended to create it in, while apparently still being in the Duchy I selected.... Help?

Far East Island / Looking for realm

I'm looking to create a new char in the Far East- I've had a couple here before (which I later emigrated for various reasons) and from what I gathered it looks pretty good. However I still need to choose a realm, and I want to ask a couple of questions before making a choice.

Which realms are active at the moment? And by active I mean as in some messages/convo within the realm apart from just orders.

Also are there any realms with ongoing internal conflict? IMO that is usually far more interesting to participate and choose a side in than many wars between realms.

Anyway, I would appreciate the advice

Helpline / A couple of questions on being a Region Lord...

This is probably a really stupid question, but I've just had my first lordship in years and I've forgotten some rather basic things.

Basically, according to my warehouse my regions food details are the following:

Prod       Cons.        Surplus
423      99               324

Now at the moment I have 166 bushels stored in my warehouse, yet apparently my peasants are going hungry, which I guess means I don't have enough food, but I assumed that "Cons. 99" meant my region consumed 99 food for which 166 would be sufficient.

So where can I find out what my region actually consumes or is the 99 value per week or something? Because I don't want to ask for food until I know exactly how much of a deficit I apparently have.

Also on a sort of related note I appear to have a knight on one of my estates that doesn't actually exist... (can't message him or find him on the char list, yet he is still listed as being my knight and as holding an estate in my region). Is this merely a bugged part of the new estates system?
