Feature Requests / Courtier history
« on: March 21, 2019, 10:32:15 PM »
A very simple request:

After performing courtier work in a region, the courtier sees the action message with the results of their work ie, Loyalty increases by 5% ect.

As far as I can see, that is the once only opportunity for the courtier to see the results of their handywork, with no way of refering back to them at a later time (I have already forgotten the results of my work 3 hours ago). Some courtiers might find it useful to look back at the records for study.

Just the results saved as a report, so it can be refered back to in the message history is all that is put forward as a request. Feel free to expand on it if you wish :)

Feature Requests / Unique items random names to include religions
« on: January 27, 2019, 12:49:12 AM »
As I understand, the unique item name generator chooses from a database; made up from: player names, realm names and other variables.

I request to include religion names within the database.
You might get something like:

The whispering codex of Sanguis Astroism
or
The shimmering blade of The Shadows

Pros: Having an item with a name related to a religion might engage and increase RP content.
Cons: None that I can see.

Helpline / Siege engines and archers
« on: December 24, 2018, 09:58:12 PM »
It seems to have always been regarded as worthless for archers to carry siege engines. Is it true they are completely worthless?

Is it possible that other troops ie. infantry, SF can make use of the archers siege engine if it makes it to the wall? If so, then I guess getting the archers to the wall should be considered?

Or is it a total waste of time for archers to carry siege engines period?

Roleplaying / Events in Ardmore - The hopeful halfbreed
« on: April 15, 2018, 10:53:28 PM »
With both Usul and Gythrul dead, all attempts to ressurect them had failed. Herbert was considered their last hope.

Quote
Roleplay from Herbert 'The HalfBreed'

Herbert awoke startled. Sweat poured from his brow as he calmed his overactive breathing. Blood had seeped from the scarred tattoo during the night. He had witnessed another vision during sleep; A ghostly figure had appeared to him and issued an order.

Without a moments hesitation, he leapt up, swiped his belongings and ran into the night-- He needed some items; and knew exactly who to get them from.

-------------------------------------------------------------------

The teleport ritual was successful. The world spun round his head until a dizzy blur. When vision became clear once more, Herbert found he had arrived on the opposite side of the island in the region of Ardmore-- Somewhere close was the resting place of Usul... and now Gythrul.

Roleplay from Herbert 'The HalfBreed'

Herbert knew this area. He had travelled most of the rogue regions in the South-- These were his original homelands offered to the Half-breeds, still under the reign of Zraath. Somewhere close, he knew was a settlement, carved and concealed within a hillside. Ahead was a faintly worn grassy track, he followed it knowing it lead to the opening of the hidden cavern.

----------------------------------------------------

He was greeted warmly by those guarding the concealed entrance to the settlement-- Men of similar stature to himself: tall with features of half man/half beast. Though Herbert had never met these individuals before, they treated each other instantly as Brothers without predjudice nor judgement, natural to their culture.

"I must seek 'The Usul'!" Herbert explained, "... and the Giant Erasmus".
After a moment of inquisitive thought one of the Half-breed guards gestured "Of course Brother, as is your right".

A guide was summoned who then led Herbert through numerous winding tunnels; cutting through other caverns where industry took place, as well as private dwellings for families; through more tunnels until finally arriving close to a small opening in the wall. The glow of torchlight seeped into the dark passageway from within the room as they approached. The guide stopped outside and motioned Herbert to enter.

As Herbert stepped through the opening, his left shoulder began to throb. The scarred tatto began to throb agitatedly.
He entered a small carved out room. In the centre, upon the stone slab lay the sleeping body of 'The Usul'. Herbert approched the motionless corpes of Usul and gently touched his cheekbone-- cold to the touch; Yet Herbert curiously noted the warm loking texture of the skin; seemingly no colour loss, continued hair growth and no early stages of decomposition.
Curious... he pondered.

He heard a shuffle... turned and almost gasped at the sight of Erasmus 'The Giant One' leaning in through the opening, staring with stern expression.

"Half-breed!" he called out in a deeply gruff tone, "What are you doing here? I have work to do, speak now!"

"Half-breed!" he called out in a deeply gruff tone, "What are you doing here? I have work to do, speak now!"...

"I come with words" Herbert nervously explained.
"I need more than words!" Erasmus screamed out as he entered the chamber and pushed Herbert aside. Herbert stumbled. As he regained composure he yelped out in pain. Erasmus glimped the creeping blood stain upon Herberts shoulder and paused for a moment. Reaching out he grasped the halfbreeds shirt collar and tore it from his back in one swift motion, exposing the apparent wound.
"You have the mark of Zraath?" Erasmus gasped, "Talk now...quickly"...
Herbert described the dream he had; of the ghostly figure of Usul appearing to him. Erasmus listened intently.

"Bringing Usul back this time has proved most difficult" Erasmus described, "I suspect the waters have been muddied from other sources of magic, disrupting my attempts.
"The Usul is in between worlds... a ghost" the halfbreed continued, "He demanded I seek the stones and bring to you. Seek help from the Portal Gods. He died fighting for the Goddess, wanted Ardmore for them as gesture for allowing him sactuary"
"Ardmore belongs to Zraath!" Erasmus bellowed out.
"The Usul is Prophet, he spoke of Ardmore as gift, but damn pesty undead creatures".
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The halfbreeds were accustomed to living beside the beasts of their lands, harvesting them as is their culture. The undead however were considered pests even to them.

Herbert continued "Stones the Usul say may be last hope for him and the Gythrul to return". He layed them in a pile on the floor. Erasmus placed them in a circle around the stone slab upon which Usul still laid motionless. After placing the final stone an eerie breeze gently blew through the caverns causing torchlight to flicker subtlely. Herbert stood back accidently knocking one of the stones. It rolled out of position and the gentle wind ceased.
"Imbacile!" Erasmus cursed, "leave now, I will finish this!". Herbert obeyed.

The fading echos of mantric tones could be heard as he left the room and walked the coridoors. Erasmus had begun a ritual in some unfamiliar ancient tongue and the power of the stones could somehow be felt...

Helpline / Unique item bonus question - Swordfighting
« on: December 04, 2017, 10:58:29 PM »
For example:
An adventurer has maxed their swordfighting skill... will the swordfighting bonus from a unique item still give an increase in the skill, or will it not improve beyond a characters natural maximum, therfore no point in using the item?

Development / Unique item set bonus
« on: April 18, 2017, 01:14:54 AM »
What are the unique item types?:

Armour
Weapon
Shield
Accessory
Ring?
Others?

I don't know if there is already a bonus, if not, how about a bonus for a character who wears a full set of unique item types?

Ideas on a postcard....

Helpline / Bureaucracy and courts

Does holding courts come under the same umbrella as courtier work.? Are they connected? ie. will having a higher bureaucracy skill improve the effects of holding courts?

Helpline / Cannot steal a precious from a prisoner..
« on: October 16, 2016, 06:30:48 PM »
I have problems accessing the bugtracker, hence why I have posted here.

For 3 turns I have tried to steal an item from a prisoner.
I get either of the following messages:

Quote
You descend down into the dungeons, where prisoners of the realm are held.
Pretending to speak of something private with your prisoner, you dismiss the guards and enter the cell alone, and it's just right there - the Oily Shield of Ginas's Organs - carefully borne by Remorse on his person. You threaten him to surrender to you whatever items of value he bears, but he is resolute enough to drive back your intimidation. Balked and in the fullness of your fury, you brandish your weapon, throw propriety to the wind, and descend to outright brigandage!

You give up for the moment, but perhaps you will come back to this one again later.

With the last message I lose an hour of my time.

This turn I have tried 8 times (and probably about the same last turn). I have had each message 4 times each (lost 4 hours so far). I can go to the dugeons as many time as I want to attempt to steal the item as long as I have the hours to do so.

I have had no loss of honour or prestige. It just doesn't seem right. I would have thought you could only attempt it maybe once per turn and suffer or be rewarded with whatever result it comes back with. I don't know if the prisoner recieves messages about my attempts (if so, his mailbox will be spammed with my numerous attempts)

Feature Requests / Approved: Talk to all prisoners
« on: October 13, 2016, 06:17:33 PM »
A simple request:

The ability to yell at all prisoners at the same time.
When several of your prisoners are making a scene in the dungeons, it would be nice to go down and yell at them all to shut up!

There may be times when the judge would like to make an announcement for all to hear, rather than talking to each one individually. Could possibly add to the RP experience.

I don't see any flaws, but I'm sure someone will slap me down :)

Feature Requests / Allow a character to RP after death
« on: September 13, 2016, 01:46:47 AM »
As far I know, when a character dies, they can no longer send messages.
Perhaps allow that character to access the RP message box for a few days. This allows them to at least RP their death and maybe allow them to read any return RP's.

General Talk / LARPing (Live Action Roleplay) in the UK
« on: July 24, 2016, 01:28:11 PM »
Very interested in trying out a LARP weekend.
Anyone have experience of this, particularly an event the southern half of the UK including Wales? Any recommendations for a newbie?
Perhaps a few of us could link up and attend an event together? Just throwing it out there.

Just a random thought I came up with:

The transfer of prisoners to the prison of an allied realm.

For example, a particular realm captures a prisoner that is wanted by an allied realm. Prisoner can be escorted to the other realms judge for sentence.
Of course during transport, the prisoner has a random chance of escaping.

Netherworld may catch a prisoner that is wanted by Spearhold, or Gotland catches a certain prisoner that is wanted by Nothoi  :P

Exploits? : A prisoner captured by a realm who hasn't yet issued a ban can be transfered to a realm already with a ban in place, allowing immediate execution.

As I said, just a random thought. I haven't thought about it a great deal. the idea might get thrown out instantly for various reasons, which is fair enough.

Development / Banning Adventurers from realm (Bug?)
« on: July 11, 2016, 11:08:18 AM »
I hold an adventurer from my own realm in my dungeon. I have the 'ban' option available. Having tried it 3 times, it tells me each time that the ban is placed and the prisoners released at the gates
However he is still in my dungeon, is not on the banned list, and is still in the realms character list marked as in prison (not return)

I thought this action would be instant. Is it a bug, or will it apply at turn-change?

Roleplaying / The execution of Pale Whiteblood, of Nothoi
« on: July 09, 2016, 02:07:58 PM »
The infiltrator Pale Whiteblood had been causing a headache to Spearhold for some time. He was very elusive and difficult to keep in the dungeons, having escaped on many occasions.
Already after escaping one execution, Usul finally had the chance of executing him again for his numerous crimes. This time he succeeded:

Quote
Roleplay from Usul Soul

Pale Whiteblood, infiltrator of Nothoi was presented to Arbiter Usul, still staked upon the wooden x-beam, within the chambers deep within the prisons. When Usul entered the chamber, the air crawled upon his skin-- damp, with a odour of death to its pungent smell. Uncontrollably the hairs on Usul's arms instantly stood erect. Erasmus had performed his work.

Erasmus approached the 'Pale Rat' and gently slapped the blood-stained cheeks of the prisoner, bringing him to conciousness from his dream-like state, punishing him again with the simple awareness of his reality.
"Excellent work my friend" Usul congratulated his prison guard, "Now let us prepare him for his next journey-- The teaching of Truth and abolishment of Lies"

Usul left the chamber to retrieve an item for the planned ritual. Whilst alone with the prisoner, Erasmus clasped Pales's hair and tugged forcing the prisoner to look directly at him.
"Filthy rat!" Erasmus whispered evily "You men of lies fear Akkan...let me tell you that you know nothing of fear. Akkan is merely a demi-god with aspirations too big for him to handle. You will never understand fear until you know the wrath of Zraath!"
The prisoner Pale was barely concious of the words spoken to him... but lucidity then struck suddenly! He attained the realisation that the face looking down upon him was not the face of the Erasmus he remembered. The sunken cheek bones, red firery eyes and the line of ridges across his forehead indicated to Pale that this was no man after all. The imposing stare alone from this...un-human was enough to instill fear, and he began to shiver uncontrollably, still bound upon the x-beam.

Usul was heard returning. Erasmus turned around sharply-- facial features returned as they had always been. "Ahh Usul, you have the head from the cold store"
"Indeed my friend, please bring me the book" Usul requested.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ----------

Usul brough forth the head of the alpha monster Erasmus had retrieved during a monster spawn a few weeks earlier. The top of the skull had been severed exposing the black fleshy brain within. He proceded to read from a page of the huge bulking book which now lay upon a pedestal Erasmus had put in place.
Blood oozed from the self-inscribed tatoo upon Usul's chest, leaving the floor stained at his feet.

"...For you my children will be gifted with the harvest of my body and blood.
My beastly cattle will plague the lands. Those who tame and consume, shall find their place in my temple; Those who deny, shalt succumb to the devastation of their sins...."
They chanted.
"May the Lord Zraath show no mercy to the sinful!"

At that moment, Erasmus placed his hand within the monster skull and tore a clump from the soft fleshy brain. He forced open Pale's toothless mouth and thrust the ghastly mush into it, forcing the prisoner to feast and choke, dark blood overflowing.

When the ritual was complete, the public execution was announced and the Pale Rat escorted to his final place of redemption.

Helpline / Leveling infiltration
« on: April 28, 2016, 06:37:33 PM »
I have recently changed class to infiltrator. I have already had some success leveling up using the academy. I have alos read somewhere that perfoming small low risk actions ie. counting gold in enemy tax offices can sometimes raise your level, Can someone clarify that this is correct, or am I wasting my time and should only level in the academy?

Thanks
