Helpline / Religion Founder issues?
« on: November 06, 2014, 04:20:08 PM »
Anyone else having a couple of problems with being a religion founder? I'm unable to change the name and other details of the rank - and when I stepped down to another elder rank to see if I could edit it that way, clicking "reaffirm as founder" just gives me a blank page with no changes.

Already posted to the tracker, I'm just wondering if anyone else is having these particular problems.

Dwilight / Fabula Nova Crystallis
« on: October 20, 2014, 07:26:18 PM »
I'll put this up here just as a basic primer to the religion. When I have more time, I'll flesh it out some more on the Wiki as well. Unfortunately, a couple of bugs have reared their head regarding the Founder status of the religion as well, but they're reported and all.

Viktor, being a former preacher on EI before emigrating, desired to go back to his old ways. As such, after corresponding with the new Patriarch of House Nebehn he has decided to establish a religion glorifying the God of Light, Bhunivelze. As such, these are the Gods in Fabula Nova Crystallis.

Bhunivelze - the God of Light. Created the Universe as we know it in two halves - the Seen and Unseen Realms. After this monumental undertaking, he slept in crystal for millennia and has now awakened to continue the oversight of his creations, correcting their errors and so forth. Before slumbering, he created three minor deities to look after things for him.

Etro, the Unseen - she who guides the souls of the dead to the Unseen Realm, to keep them safe for all eternity.
Pulse, the Architect - he who forged the land, filled the oceans and created the inhabitants to live upon them.
Lindzei, the Protector - she who protects humanity from Chaos.

Like I say, when time permits I'll flesh it out properly on the Wiki. But at least a discussion thread can be started.

Questions & Answers / Pornographic Content
« on: October 16, 2014, 05:40:16 PM »
I have a question regarding the above kind of content. If someone posts a message or an RP involving an out-and-out pornographic scene (e.g. depicting the rape of someone/something), would it be wiser to ask the Titans to look into it for any breaches in the SC, or just to have it peer-reviewed as part of the Vulgarity system?

And before anyone says - no, it's not a case of thin skin with the messages in Sandalak recently, I'm genuinely curious what the best way to go about it would be.

Roleplaying / The Death of Ravier Nebehn
« on: July 24, 2014, 09:00:00 PM »
At last, it was time to give battle to the enemy - and in this case, for this former Duke, it was against the real enemy. He had long been looking forward to this day, to charge against Perdan and smite them for sacrificing his former home. He had thrown off all false pretenses and started once again, older though he was, in a new crusade. In the days gone by, he had time to contemplate his faith and chosen to walk the path of worshipping a pantheon of Gods, lead by the creator Bhunivelze. In His name, he recruited men to enact His vengeance against the fallen sons.

Ravier and the Vengeance marched alongside those he once called foe, advancing upon the fortifications of Bescanon. Archers rained upon them, but still they marched on. Horses charged out with lance and with sword, but the Vengeance of Bhunivelze could not be slowed by dying men. The time came to scale the walls, and he lead his men up the ladders. Hails of arrows came down upon them and more men gave their lives for the Creator before they charged headlong into combat. It was crowded and difficult to get in to strike true but many hits were landed. It was around then that Ravier, fighting off some men in another melee took his first arrow wound to the leg, grimacing and howling in anger before slaughtering a couple more men and trying to find cover to deal with it. His men were being shot off the walls by the arrows and eventually sounding a general retreat because the melee was far too crowded and even with shields they were sitting ducks.

Ravier on the other hand was sitting against the fortification, trying to pull the arrow out of his leg so he could at least attempt to continue fighting. Then he heard men marching upon his location, so he stood. Running was not an option for him but fighting certainly was. He took up a stance and watched as the mass of militia saw the lone noble, sword and shield raised. Ravier swallowed a little, knowing that unless something were to distract these men such as arrows or an impending charge, that his end was almost a certainty. He glanced around a little. The archers in his fellow units were only just beginning to draw, and there wasn't anyone else preparing a charge.

He smirked at the militiamen. "Etro take the lot of you!" was his final battlecry as he personally charged, for Etro was the Goddess of Death in the pantheon. Arrow after arrow sunk into parts of him not covered by his shield, feet and shoulders mainly. He stumbled in his charge, listing over to the wall's edge. As his vision wavered, he looked behind him to the fall, and then in front as the assembled militia  encircled him. He looked straight at them, the blood loss now too severe and survival impossible before he looked up at several glints in the sky. He grinned.

"She answers my prayers.." were his last spoken words, as the arrows rained upon the militia, striking them down and causing survivors to retreat. But it was too late for him now, as he sunk his sword into the ground and leaned upon it whilst kneeling, forehead resting against the pommel. I go now to Bhunivelze and his new world.

And with that last thought, he fell to the side, blood pouring out of the wounds he had taken. After they had rallied, the Vengeance had found their leader dead upon the battlements, and had begun the task of returning him to his home as well as notifying his kin and his allies that he had fallen. Once a champion of protecting those who could not do so for themselves, Ravier had died as a champion of the Gods themselves. And his task, his revenge, would fall to his last surviving son Serrin.

Roleplaying / The Defection of Ravier Nebehn
« on: July 04, 2014, 07:05:13 AM »
The scribe finished the last words. "In Memory". The letters were then signed and sealed, dispatched to all of Ravier's former subjects in his now-former position as the Duke of the Western Moors. He had been thinking for a long time since his lands were lost, and dwelt much on the cause of it. And it always came back to one singular word which caused him to feel like spitting venom.

Perdan.

Their ruthless pursuit of power had lead to the sacrifice of his lands as a shield. Atop his castle, his lands burned as the combined forces of Fallangard and Westmoor tried to resist the siege, but they could not. Then began assassination attempts against the royalty of Sirion and Eponllyn, and with that Ravier could hold back no more. He decreed such acts to be dishonorable, and commanded them to stop immediately. If there was to be any fighting, it would be in honorable combat upon the walls or the duelling grounds.

Even after he issued that edict, it was ignored by the King of Perdan's brother as he struck at the King of Eponllyn and was caught. And it was then that his mind was made up. Up until this point he was praying he was wrong, that he was misguided. But it was not so. Thankfully, he had already tested the waters and written to King Garin, expressing his sorrow at the state of affairs in the Southern Alliance and wishing to be free, no longer a puppet. The Queen of Nivemus also wrote him, expressing her own sorrow in not visiting the Ducal Castle before the siege began in order to take in Westmoorian culture.

It seemed that these so-called "enemies" could be reasonable, logical and above all else, honorable. They would take in the fallen Duke, make him one of their own and with open arms. And it was so on this night that the letter of his departure and defection was sent, a missive which took aim at Perdan and encouraged any of his former subjects to take up arms against them, to seek vengeance. He certainly was going to do so.

Before he set out on his travels to Hagley, Ravier stopped at the mausoleum holding the honored dead of his order, those who had died in the defense of what they believed in. He sighed, pulling a black cloak around himself and lowering the hood, bowing his head. "You will not have died in vain, my friends. Though I may be aging and one day I may join this crypt, I will not do so before I manage to exact vengeance."

Ravier left, pulling the hood up and taking a retinue of his closest followers out of the city and into the lands. They began the journey to Hagley - by the time that his former comrades would have read his letter, he would be long gone. Though, it would turn out, his journey would not be so simple after all.
