BM General Discussion / Admin/Mod Moderation
« on: June 07, 2016, 03:59:26 AM »
Well I guess I had the red lettering coming at some point. ugh it is such a pain to quote items, but this week I have a little time. I opened this thread more or less, because of what is stated below since I'm hijacking a thread apparently, which also brings me to a point much later down my list since i'm now a hijacker as well. Also to note is there a appropriate forum to raise a complaint or a suggestion regarding moderation of this forum that is visible to everyone? Don't try to say development board, we know that board really goes no where, but that is a battle for another day and time. Let us begin...

If you have a complaint about a warning from the mods, please message one of them privately. If you have a general complaint about the moderation of the forum, please either message a mod privately or start a separate topic in the appropriate forum, where you lay your grievance out in a rational manner. Do not hijack other threads to complain about the mods. Do not resort to passive-aggressive snide comments about the moderation of the forums.

Let's dive into this complaint, a complaint because it's clear Mods/dev drop the ball from time to time and well your not perfect and neither are we I get that. If we were we wouldn't need this forum (Limbo), so let's get that out of the way. However, a mod or admin, do not know who or rather care, stated I insulted one of them. As outlined below that is clear by such a warning I received from the BM community team in so called thread..

Quote
Blue Star,

You have received a warning for insulting other users and/or staff members in regards to the message:
Re: Stegman Hemmings is ruining the conflict.

Do not make posts that are deliberately rude or insulting to moderators or admins.

Please cease these activities and abide by the forum rules otherwise we will take further action.

Regards,
The BattleMaster Community Team.

If one of our moderation/admin team cannot take such a small comment, when it is not directed at neither Wimpie or and particular member of it I grow a bit concerned. I mean did I say "Mods suck" or "Mods play favorites"? Last time I read what I wrote it said nothing of the sort just a factual thing that has occurred based on comments in other threads as well as this one. Also, if you notice cause it will get turned around and well just start spewing post. Stating anything about the forum user was in fact no insulting, besides stating well the obvious though if it is perceived as a insult well i'm sorry, but that's my opinion as of recent and past post.

When has Gundam really had control of what he types? Your just now noticing comments similar to this.... dropping the ball dropping the ball

Well that sums most of it up, i'm sure I can think of more, but let's not over do it on the first day. Let just say if you're going to warn someone I think you should make it clear, which amin/mod who sent the warnint versus another. Why hide under the cloak and shadows of the forum? How do I take a complaint about a warning to someone if I don't know who actually gave me the warning? I don't intend to chat with the one who warned me, i'd rather talk to another. Also probably best to state how a complaint about a warning can be handled in the warning letter sent, makes it a bit easier than doing this whole thread thing.

Just a fishermen simply am casting a line, upon a wooden ship seeing if the last worm will catch some fish.

Roleplaying / Blue Bird
« on: April 23, 2016, 08:13:08 PM »
As the sun rises sits a man against a stone as the sun glistens across his shaved head. Looking upon the landscape that for so long has been a blessing and a curse all at the same time he laments on the deeds he did, but recalls the deed that the crowds cheered for. He flips his dagger in his palm, as the breeze of spring rustles through the forest behind him. For though the past is dense and is thick as thieves, the present is current, but the future is a mystery left to be discovered. emerging from the forest walks a woman that places her hand upon this mans shoulder and gazes out with him into the sun.

They enjoy the breeze as it rustles once again in the forest and blows out toward the eastern sun, as life and with the wind you can only move forward you cannot rewind the clocks no matter how hard one should try. She sits beside him on the fallen tree and nudges the man slightly. Smiling he nudges her back and with his palm open she places hers within his and they again gaze at the rising sun.

In the corner of there eyes they see a spec on the horizon headed toward them, in the sky and as it grows closer it gets smaller, flying above them is a bird one that is the size of a robin, but as blue as the sky. As the women reaches up her hand the bird fly's toward her hand, it makes it's way to sits on her finger and joins them. As nothing happened the bird relaxes as it has always done. Just as if it has rejoined old friends, comfortably the bird begins to slowly sing a song as it enjoys the rising sun.

Other Games / Older Game, Text Based
« on: January 08, 2016, 09:11:38 AM »
Tom I had this lingering thought of a game you or one of the other oldies made on here. For a bit I think you me, Chenier, Cuvelier, maybe Tim and a few others played it. The name a link well don't come up so ill try to describe it a bit.

It was based off of families/heritage and the creation of them and heirs and kin. We would have family heads and turns would run and we would conquest for land a bit, marriages and alliances. I think only 10-15 people really played at all. It was pretty basic just simply text-based game no graphics save for the land mass we were on. Turns would run daily probably once a day.

Development / Suggestion for Mercenary Setting
« on: January 05, 2016, 03:15:19 AM »
Being in Mercenary setting should have a clear benefit that other setting should obviously not, I believe, though it just dawned on me.

Honestly being a mercenary at heart as some of us are, I see no reason why if you are leading mercenary troops you are unable to forage if a battle does not go your way or you retreat. Technically mercenaries would go through and forage after any battle to procure better equipment/gear and spoils of even defeat. Perhaps we should change it. If it is at all doable though I do know it would possible be complicated to do.

Slyly moving to a bench he takes a seat pondering the mischief that has taken place while away, though unsure if he wants to rejoin the crowd he admires the work already crafted. Almost drifting off to the days of the volcano eruption or the sinking isle he blinks a bit. Remembering his purpose and promise he smiles as a figure places her hand on his shoulder and looks down at him with a smile. Though still missing the beloved place he grew up he must tends to other needs. Looking up at her he feels another hand upon his knee and he turns and smiles at the beautiful face that shares traits of his and that of his wife. Slowly standing he remembers the days of bliss on continents only known to those few who visited them. Moving slowly to stand he takes the little hand in his and his wife takes the other they begin to walk away from the crowd once again he takes a brief glance above the crowd into the sky and what he sees makes a smile dance upon his lips. No other than the shimmer sight of a BlueStar within the heavens circling a world shared and beloved by the few... Never truly to be forgotten

BM General Discussion / It Was Fun
« on: July 27, 2014, 06:05:26 PM »
It's been fun since 03 but I've gotta final bow out and take my leave. Had fun playing, not raging just not into it anymore. It been a long time coming as a few of you know.

Best of luck friends and family that includes everyone, we made a good run of it back from when we stormed Isadril to when we finished of Fasland and even when Fontan finally fell. I cannot forget the time we went and smacked RedSpan around or when BT first got invaded. Toren. Butter Rebellion. Darka o I won't forget you my first true love in this game, CE my second and truer love and Perdan my mistress through out the years ;).

I'm sad to go but in every book you have to eventually move onto the next chapter

Take care and have fun, Don't be to hard on Tim and Tom they've made this game great.

Catch ya on League of Legends

Feature Requests / Magistrate cases
« on: August 15, 2013, 02:09:52 AM »
Title: Permanent closing of thread after verdict for magistrate cases

Summary: After the votes are in and tallied and the verdict is there for all to see, simply close the thread again after verdict is there. Do not re-open the thread for people to respond/comment/bicker. Nothing good comes from it as we have seen. The issue should be closed after the verdict and if it's liked or not people should not be given the chance to respond to such, they can chat on irc or whatever, but not on the thread.

Details: Once verdict is in from the magistrates and those parties who cast their rights to vote, the verdict is the last response for that particular case/thread. Once closed no other response are made and the verdict is the very last post.

Possible Exploits: Players possible commenting on the case somewhere else. However, it does not make the verdict get lost in the ramblings or bickering of others.

I bring this up because a case was opened after the verdict. From what I saw and the leading thread after nothing good came from it or anything that was worth mentioning. Let people dive into it and chatter about it should not be in the same thread with the verdict. It disrupts potting the issue to a end. Criticism regarding the verdict can be better addressed in a different thread. Suggestion BM Discussion or Questions & Answers.

Thread referring to:
http://forum.battlemaster.org/index.php/topic,4420.45.html

Note* Odd how the thread mentioned is the only thread with a verdict that was left open for players to comment and disturbingly enough it did not lead to anything productive rather negative from my opinion. No other thread is left open after the verdict is given at least to my knowledge.

Roleplaying / Fellow Rpers
« on: July 31, 2013, 03:08:36 AM »
As we all know Rping has declined in the game along with other things. I wanted to bring this up to the community part in here, specifically because you are other i primarily see Rping and you also rp here on occasion.

What can we do to get more Rping back into the game? I ask because I have always enjoyed reading many of your writing whether in game or on here. I know others do enjoy the back stories. I would like to see that increased. I want to see what we can do. Let's bring our creative minds together.

Note* I try to rp and get people involved whenever I can though as we all know time constraints and such makes it a bit difficult, but we will prevail!

BM General Discussion / Language
« on: June 24, 2013, 10:38:10 PM »
Fellow Bmers I recently had some thoughts, yes you know the cursed things that come to you when you are sober. mm I make this quick.

I was wondering what are the views of using different languages in the game. I mean i've seen Latin, French, Spanish so far and even some from fantasy novels. So I was wondering what is the take on using these languages in game?

Whenever, I use a different language than common (english), I always make sure to do as I did there so it can be understood by those who don't know or use it.

Just wanting to know everyone's thoughts. I mean it adds just a bit of flavor to the game now and then, but I'm not referring to larage passages just the smaller ones.

East Island / Perdan vs Caligus and Company
« on: June 18, 2013, 11:11:06 PM »
Who do you all think is actually winning this war?

So far I've noticed Aksesha Temple (butcher name) is losing walls. Perdan is looting far into the former Ibaldesh regions and Perdan is fighting back with lets say a vengeance perhaps. I'd also like to note looting is rampant which is interesting to say the least cause I as a player am sick of getting the notifications, but have truly enjoyed it as a character.

Westmoor well is getting it's butt handed to it not at all surprised.

Is it me or does history constantly repeat itself?
This isn't obviously the first time the southern realms have joined Caligus to fight Perdan and well i doubt it will be the last. I mean since Ubent was a realm this has constantly gone on hasn't it.

Also sea travel mm finally away to loot by sea (Pirates life for me)

Helpline / Pausing character
« on: June 11, 2013, 09:57:55 PM »
If for some reason I paused a character would I lose the unique item? What a horrible thing that would be.

Just curious on the matter really.

Thanks
