BM General Discussion / Region Economy Tab

The economy tab on the Region Details page. Does this serve any real purpose any more? I believe it was introduced as part of the expanded trade system which never eventuated. As with other things I am looking at, I am wondering if it is now pointless fluff that adds confusion for those whom are not well versed with the game.

It propose a review of the current character classes. This is not meant to a wish list for how to improve character classes, because frankly while many classes probably need it, there is simply not the man hours available to do so at this time. Instead I propose to look at each class in detail, and determine if is serves both a unique purpose in the game, fits in to the game world and perhaps more importantly is useful and fun. Suggestions and discussion about the main class/sub class system are also welcome.

To start things off lets start with the default class, the warrior.

In my opinion Battlemaster has over the years become a mish mash of idea's and half implemented features. In order to make the game more approachable, and more robust I plan to start a series of discussions that focus on some of the game mechanics that perhaps do not add enough to the game to warrant their existence. First up is the season system.

Seasons were added for realism and only affect Dwilight and the FEI. Over the years many people have expressed that seasons are more of a nuisance and frustration then a feature that adds excitement to the game. In the most part they make the food aspect of the game, which is already a chore for many, just that little bit more complicated in terms of securing a surplus for the low production months. They also affect war in that travel times during winter are slowed. It is just my opinion that things like this, while appealing for a small group of people, mostly just hinder war and other interesting interaction. I want to canvas other peoples opinions and thoughts to see if seasons are something useful to retain in the game, and if they are if they should be rolled out to the rest of the continents.

Questions & Answers / Hot Swapping Religion

I'm looking for opinions for the following Scenario

Player is a member of religion A. They are made lord of a region, and immediately tear down a temple belonging to religion B. He encountered resistance after this, so Religion B offer him some gold, he leaves religion A, joins religion B and rebuilds the temple before leaving religion B to rejoin religion A again. I understand that game mechanics prevent him from being able to rebuild the temple unless he is a member, but religion is supposed to mean something to nobles as well. Keep in mind this occurred on Dwilight.

SM General Discussion / Perceive Ritual

I'm looking for some opinions here. I am starting a Northern Earth Shaman. The starting idea is he is on some sort of vision quest. As part of that quest I intended for him to use Earth/Perceive rituals to guide him. He is RPing this as being guided by the earth spirits.

The question is, what are the Effect and Targets for such a spell? I was thinking 3/2 figuring that the spell should generate a strong desire for him to travel in a certain direction, and the spell affects only him. However I guess the other way to look at it is with a larger Target with the rationale that the target is whatever location he is to be drawn to. What do people think?

Wiki / Sandbox

Is it possible to get a sandbox area on the wiki, some name space that won't show up in the recent changes list so when someone is working on a template and making multiple edits to get nested templates working correctly, they don't generate a mess of recent changes? On other wiki's I've been a part of generally the user name space isn't included in the recent changes, so everybody has their own little sandbox area to experiment in.

Far East Island / Reviving the South

So while the slow war continues in the North, the south looks to be suffering. I've heard that several realms are starting to have nobles question the boredom they are experiencing. Anyone got some ideas on how the southern realms can revive interest?

Helpline / Running in an Election while in Prison

Is it possible to enter an election while in prison? I was thinking this may be possible by bribing the guards to get messages out. A few times now I've seen people win elections while in prison, generally getting their old position back. They also seem to manage to escape from prison in the same turn the election ends.

Recently our harvest was split over the end of summer into Autumn. The first 5 days which were summer seemed to report the projected harvest and surplus correctly, but once we hit Autumn the numbers jumped up to about what you would expect for a full Autumn harvest. When the harvest occurred most regions produced a few hundred bushels less then the estimate given just a turn earlier. To me it looks like the projections are being calculated off the season rates of the current turn, modified by the production rates recorded for days in the harvest that have already past.

Development / Bug - Read Messages from Last [x] days

With this new feature, I only appear to get about 1 days worth of messages. For example if I select to see the last 7 days of messages, I get no messages that are newer then 6 days ago. I'm using chrome as my browser.
