Helpline / Question about sub-classes and unit recruitment.

I know it is in the inalienable rights that a player cannot be told what kind of unit to recruit. I also know there is some level of expectation that if your character has the warrior class you are expected to command a unit of your choosing. Is there any documentation or stance on if you are a Warrior/Infiltrator or Warrior/diplomat (or any other class/sub-class combo that might impact how your character is played) about not being forced to recruit a unit? The question was risen and I am curious if there is anything out there about not being forced to recruit a unit or punished for not based on what your class is.

Sorry if this already exists as a topic (I couldn't find it if it does..) But can infiltrators attend tournaments?

I announced a tournament in my region (Alebad on the Colonies) and I get notifications of tournament actions (such as free beer at tavern, messages from tourny grounds, lords showing off.. etc.) But I don't have a tournament option on the navigation pane.. Is this expected or a bug?

So on EC in the region of Nascot (No owner since its rogue) Redhaven nobles were moving through that region. Apparently so were a few of Perdan nobles. Redhaven and Perdan are at war with one another.

A battle report came in and the defenders (I think) were a handful of units of angry peasants/mobs - but reading the Battle Report it looks like Perdan and Redhaven knights fought alongside each other against the Angry Mobs despite the fact that those two realms are at war with one another..

Is this just a weird scenario and that is expected to happen since there was a "generic bad guy" (Angry Mob) that attacked? Or should something else have happened?

Just wondering..

I can attach a link to the Battle Report if it would help..


Feature Requests / Rejected: Line of Succession

I have been doing some thinking lately and thought it would be cool if for certain government types - Mainly Monarchy and I suppose an argument could be made for Tyranny - if the ruler had the chance to name a successor in more than just RP? Would it be possible to add a feature that allows a ruler to name a successor in the event that they are either:
  • A)Killed
  • B)Removed from their position as ruler either due to wounding, imprisonment, or deportation?

My thought was the game essentially skips the election process and acts as though someone had been appointed to the position... If no successor has been selected/chosen AND/OR the successor themselves is unable to take office (Wounded/in prison) then the normal election process triggers. 

I imagine the coding could get rather tricky (or so I assume since I know next to nothing about coding) and I would think if this was introduced there could be a need for some "if/then" logic surrounding rebellions... Again I know next to nothing about coding, but my thought was the line of succession is nullified if the current ruler loses their position via a rebellion..

Just my thoughts..

Apologies if this topic exists somewhere on the forum all ready, I spent a good bit of time searching and couldn't find it..

What are all the ways for an Advy to find/acquire a unique item? Can it be found just by hunting monsters? Do they need to search for items and they happen upon it? Do they need to have a Sage create one - or do Sage's only repair them?

Helpline / Why does scouting take time from the time pool?

Just wondering, why does sending out a scout take an hour per scout to do.. It seems odd to me that giving an order like that would take time out of the time pool, when something like doing any financial actions does not..

Is there a reason for that?

Title: Adding 'Guild Titles' to title list outside of guild msg groups

Summary:Not sure how useful or 'desired' this would be, but I haven't seen a topic on this yet, and thought it would be neat. I would like to see the titles/ranks a character has in guilds displayed in their signature line along with other titles they have earned

Details:In a character's signature line currently it reads "John Smith, King of Blintia, Royal of Blintia, Duke of Blint City." I think it would be neat if we added titles/ranks from guilds a character is in as well. I can imagine that if a player/character is in 5 different guilds it could get increasingly more cumbersome, so perhaps we limit it to 'Full' and/or 'Elder' ranks of a guild? I would also imagine that Secret Societies would not have this.. since they are.. secret..

Benefits:Increases the value in the titles/ranks, gives players something to strive for within a guild, rather than growing complacent with their current position helps advertise the guild more

Possible Downsides/Exploits: If a player is in more than 1 or 2 guilds the list of titles could grow drastically. A possible 'solution'/workaround for this could be limiting it to either 'Full' and/or 'Elder' ranks and/or limiting it to 1 or 2 guilds based on which guild you have been in the longest? I think allowing a player to select the guilds (maybe on the character info screen) to display, would be cool, but also understand that development wise that might get tricky and cumbersome, and be more trouble than its worth..

Helpline / QUESTION - Infiltrator Actions

I remember a while ago that performing certain actions as an infiltrator (i.e. Stealing Tax Gold, Murdering Militia, Assaulting someone, etc.) caused an Infiltrators stats to plummet.. I know Personally my stats went from something like 65 prestige to 3 over a period of time..

Not sure if my character has "bottomed out" or if that was changed, but recently I haven't seen the notices that my honor/prestige is being impacted (positively or negatively) by infiltrator actions..

So my question is: is that, for lack of a better word, feature, still in the game? If so, does it matter if you successfully get away with an action without being spotted? For example, I seem to remember performing an action - let's say it was murdering militia... using the Low Risk option and successfully completing it. The game text said something along the lines of "You find 3 isolated guards and manage to murder them quietly without raising alarm. You vanish unseen into the woods" And then another message would pop up and say "As your deeds become known throughout the land your honor/prestige drops X points"

To me that doesn't make a whole lot of sense, if I was unseen performing the action and the only witnesses are dead victims.. how would MY deeds become known throughout the land..?

Sorry if this topic already exists, I am rather new (or returning from a long hiatus prior to which I was very new) to the forums, and couldn't find this.

I would love an option to be able to reply all to messages that have multiple characters in them. I ran into this issue the other day. I received a message from someone and the message was to myself and three other players. To reply all I had to start a brand new message and include those other three in my response, a reply all option would save time and be more convenient I think.

I am unsure if this has been covered in a previous post or not, nor am I certain this is the proper board for my request, and I would like to apologize if it is not.

The wiki has changed recently, I can no longer edit my family page nor the sub pages that branch from it, is this intentional? If not is it being worked on? It it is why the change?

I have noticed some of the recent updates on the testing Islands, mainly Dwilight as that is where I have a character. I have some qualms about said updates, the messaging system in my opinion is atrocious and a large majority of the players in my realm and across Dwilight that I am in contact with agree. They have also said and I am inclined to agree that the Takeover systems spam the message board like crazy, it seems a wee bit excessive to me and I am not sure I understand the thought process behind the updates and changes, perhaps the code is being tested as a "beta" if you will, and that is all fine and dandy but I dont think it is going to work on any other islands seeing as it is not working on the test islands.
