Dwilight / Secularism?
« on: December 18, 2011, 10:05:35 PM »
I've noticed theres been a fair amount of talk recently about fleshing out SMA a little as well as BM culture and I just thought of something simple we can outlaw: the use of the word secularism.

So how about it? Death to secularism.

Helpline / Lord Appointment Requirements
« on: November 19, 2011, 01:19:15 AM »
Hi I play the Duke of Fissoa and theres some appointing going on and I really can't figure out why I'm only being offered these certain candidates. Can anyone point me to a list of the actual requirements for someone to become a lord. I'm sure I've seen them somewhere (or at least they've been discussed) but I can't find them on the forum.

Helpline / New Estate System - Discouraging Loyalty?
« on: September 30, 2011, 07:43:00 AM »
I was just combing through the new estate options and when I read this: "If you are unhappy with your estate and want to go looking for a new one, you can abandon your estate at any time," a few alarm bells raised in my head.

While I love the new estate system in general, should we have some penalties for abandoning your lord? And before anyone mentions the benefits of increased flexibility, I'm also a big fan. I'm simply worried about knights thinking they can walk all over their lords. What about the whole "oath of fealty"? Should this be emphasised more on the estate page perhaps?

Beluaterra / The Enweil/Riombara thread
« on: August 20, 2011, 06:55:14 AM »
Hello all. I joined Enweil just a month ago and I have absoloutely no idea what is going on. Everyone is always referring to "what happened before" regarding Enweil but I wasn't there.

Furthermore, it seems to always come up in the Dwilight forums (where I constantly dwell) and I have no idea what the deal is!

Please tell?  ::) and package the information for an absolute beluaterra noob.

Feature Requests / When in prison...
« on: June 04, 2011, 12:17:49 PM »
Could we be able to view a shortened version of the information page. Like maybe we can look at the map, the statistic pages and maybe claims, guilds, taxes etc.

Thing is, my main man has been in prison for like 6 days or something and it's driving me crazy!! It made me think there should be some things you can look at to sort of satisfy your battlemaster lust.

Obviously the request doesn't make much sense IG but we can easily rationalise that your character should know the last tax information, stats, map etc.

Helpline / Lordship Elections
« on: May 25, 2011, 07:34:39 AM »
Sorry if this is obvious to anyone but I haven't had a rule char in literally years. What are the conditions on lordship elections? Do claims affect the election in anyway? If not, can the election be set so only those with claims are eligible? Inside what paramteters can lordship elections be organized? (assuming that there is any choice by the ruler at all.)

EDIT: Ah crap, I've just realized I posted this in the wrong forum... :( can someone please move it?

BM General Discussion / New Religion: PLEASE HELP ME :)
« on: April 01, 2011, 12:35:07 PM »
Hi guys. I'm making a new religion on Dwilight. I've got this idea that I'm going to write a bunch of stories and include them in a compilement of stories called the "Holy Scrolls". The texts in this document will be where the church gains it moral messags from etc. The main point is that people can interpret the texts differently and players will be able to bring a lot to the church based on interpretations of the text. It's also an effort to work against the "this is how it is" attitude. I think the only way to stop this is to have some sort of theological base for argument. Not some crap like "I deeply feel that we shouldn't do this". The scripture should add realism.

The problem is. I've given myself a lot of !@#$ to do. I've already decided that I'm going to write the main stories (e.g. creation of the earth, life and people) but I want a lot more stories, like in the bible but not directly plagiarised. (stuff about people being eaten by giant beasts sent by god etc).

SO, if anyone has any roleplays that transmit any sort of moral message, I would be REAAALLY appreciative of anyone who would hand them to me so I can butcher then and put them into "holy" form. Also if anyone wants to write a story from scratch that would be very welcome.

Here is what I have so far for the religion page. Please comment on the general feeling you get from the page. The link to the "Holy Scrolls" is contained somewhere in there but it doesn't have any stories in it yet so there isn't much use showing the page to you yet.

Shin Shenron: Visions

The sky glistened that night. The palace of Fissoa was as usual, orderly and dull, but tonight something was different. Black eyes surveyed the cityscape below, betraying the furious thought that penetrated the owners head. Shin had a pipe to his mouth, inhaling large lungfuls of tobacco smoke and then releasing it slowly into the night. After a few minutes of concentrated thought, he gave up trying to find what ebbed his consciousness and swivelled his chair back round to face his desk. A man sat opposite him. Shin should have been alarmed, he should have fell back from his chair but he was not surprised for some reason. The figure adjacent to him was enormous, perhaps even seven foot tall.
"Father?" Said Shin. Still showing no sign of anything being wrong.
"It's been a long time," said Kazuma. Smiling like a large bear. "Your career is coming along quickly, you are far less stubborn than I was."
Shin was startled now, but not because of the strangeness of the situation, but because he realized he had missed his father. It had been a long time since his death in the mysterious estate burning in Ornaz.
Shin said with watery eyes, "I've missed you, father."
"And I, you." Replied the huge man. "But I've not come to discuss pleasantries. Orphen is alive, I have heard reports of it from Idapur."
   "The Prophet Orphaea?"
"The very same." Kazuma's eyes showed a red tint. "This does not bode well. If Orphen is once again alive then what I suspected is most certainly true. Orphen is, and was, an Aenil. There is no other explanation for his strange exploits while I served him. The obvious implication is that the Aenil are not random beings as that blasted church would have us believe."
Shin looked disturbed. "Father you were on the council of the Magna Aenilia Ecclesia!"
"Do I sit on that council from the grave!" Retorted Kazuma harshly. "Don't you see? The 'aenil' are no more than servants for something greater. Something with a plan. There is a great force at play here. A great father. Do you see that Shin?"
Shin hesitated. "I'm not sure what you're saying..."
Kazuma's eyes widened. He leaned forward on the desk, his huge frame engulfing Shin's view. "Don't you see." He repeated, now showing a huge set of teeth. A set of teeth impossible for a human.
Shin placed his feet on the desk kicked himself away from the desk, just quick enought to avoid a gigantic claw that Kazuma had somehow obtained. Shin put his hand on his face. No, he thought, he's hit me. Shin could feel blood on his face and he could hear laughing, deep laughing...

"Hahaha! Lord Shin you have fallen asleep once more!"
Shin bolted upright in his chair. He could feel salty tears had tried on his face. Instantly he looked out the window to see a bright morning.
"Is anything the matter Lord Chancellor?" said his aide, now worried.
Shin composed himself and looked the man in the eye. "Does it look like there is anything wrong, you fool. Get back to you duties!"
He then turned to the window. Wishing to see his father once more.

This is a narrative that will be one of which I will be writing to explain the founding of a new religion I am planning to make on Dwilight. Please feel free to comment. Note: the actual religion may not be founded for a few months, this mainly deals with the drama that comes beforehand.

Please feel free to comment.

Feature Requests / Dwilight Character Limit
« on: March 05, 2011, 12:44:10 AM »
Ok. I no this is not likely to work, but I am going to give a solid whinge.

Why are we only allowed one character on Dwilight anyway? It's the biggest continent we have. It is also underpopulated. Can we stop the characters from being in the same realm on Dwilight? That's fine with me, I just want to have more characters in Dwilight. IT IS AN AWESOME ISLAND! :D

Anyone else feel this way?
