Feature Requests / Delete Top Families Page
« on: October 04, 2013, 01:04:31 PM »
Title: Delete Top Families Page

Summary: The wealth section of the Top Families page ought to be deleted.

Details: All of the top families have the same amount of wealth, so the wealth section is useless. In addition to being useless, the wealth section is generally held in contempt by the fanbase and the devs. So rather than fixing it, it should just be deleted outright. As it is it just looks silly.

Benefits: This would fix the Top Families page.

Possible exploits: None.

Feature Requests / Increase Family Wealth Limit
« on: October 04, 2013, 06:37:45 AM »
Title: Increase Family Wealth Limit

Summary: The top twenty wealthiest families have maxed out their family wealth, and there is currently nothing to do with wealth, so the limit must be raised further.

Details: Without any way to spend wealth or stockpile it, it is useless to have. Therefore some measure must be taken. The most immediate action would be to increase the family wealth limit.

Benefits: This will give wealth a meaning.

Possible exploits: None.

BM General Discussion / Land of the Active Dukes
« on: August 11, 2013, 01:19:11 AM »
Well my character has been looking around awhile for a Duke who will respond to messages, but with no luck. Maybe someone on this forum could direct me to a realm with active dukes in it? I don't think it's so much to ask.

Helpline / Character Frozen
« on: July 10, 2013, 06:44:21 AM »
So one of my characters became frozen, due to a bug, and his soldiers are dangerously close to revolting. I've already submitted a bug report, but I don't think it will be resolved in time for me to pay the soldiers. Is it possible for a mod to pay the men for me as a quick fix until the bug is resolved?

Helpline / Stepping Down from Permanent Position
« on: July 04, 2013, 07:22:59 PM »
The only way to leave a permanent position is to step down from office, but doing so costs honour and prestige. This is rather unforgiving, as you could spend years in a position and still have to leave it in 'disgrace,' rather than retire honourably. I think that this one size fits all punishment should be made to distinguish those who leave after a limited period of time from those who leave after an extended period of time, by waving the costs for the latter.

One more mention. When I attempted to have one of my characters leave one of his positions, he recieved this message:

It looks like you did not quite understand the point of giving a reason.
Your realm mates should know just why you leave your position, and you should write at least one complete sentence. Really. Go back and try again.

Despite writing several sentences in explanation. I'm guessing that the game judges the explanation based on it's length; in that case it should say as much and not blame number of sentences instead. This is a minor issue.

Helpline / Transfering gold amongst your own characters
« on: April 03, 2013, 05:33:58 AM »
The game doesn't allow you to directly transfer gold between characters (through the bank). However, it doesn't prevent you from indirectly transferring funds amongst your own characters by using a third party as a go-between. Are there OOC rules to prevent this, or is it fair game?

Feature Requests / Show Lord's Tax Rates
« on: January 06, 2013, 08:01:06 PM »
Most Lords are tyrants who tax their nobles the maximum 50% that they are able and others are poor businessmen who tax their regions far below the threshold that can be supported. It's usually prudent to avoid those types of Lords regardless of the overall sizes of the estates they offer.

Unfortunately the current region information pages don't allow you to do so efficiently, as they show you the estate sizes and whether they are vacant but omit all other information. The only way you're able to see the Lord's tax rates is to travel to a particular region in order to check the estates in person through the "manage estates" page. This is a major hinderance since in order to make an informed decision using it you'd have to spend days travelling region to region, recording the information outside of BM so that you don't forget it and then, once it's all collected, spend some additional amount of time travelling to whichever region you decide on taking.

That is such a difficult feat that it's downright impractical and I doubt anyone ever attempts it. More likely the most anyone is willing to do is to flip through the region information pages in search of the largest estate in the wealthiest region, tax rates be damned. This rewards Lord's who are tyrants or poor businessmen because there's little anyone can do to keep from falling prey to them.

Hence why I'd like to see more in-depth region information pages which include tax rates.
