I realize the changes will happen on December 21st.

But when does the emmigration process change to the new mode?
And when are the new realms available? It would kind of make sense to have them available before the deadline.

On the slow paced island called the "colonies", there is a unique realm full of treachery, darkness, corruption and ,... democracy. It's a place dedicated to creatures and degenerates who wouldn't be tolerated anywhere else. Their water is poisoned. their mead is black, their minds are demented, but still the nobles share a unique kind of humor.

A huge black abyss parts this ancient place, giving shelter to  thousands of demons and imps - and the cult  worshiping them brings terror to the peasants. Darkness rules the hearts and minds of the landed nobility and they wallow in their madness.This place is called Outer Tilog and it's waiting for you.

I kind of wished that the game mechanics were more easy to understand. To be honest I liked the testing a lot and I still like the general idea of Spellmaster, but I quit because it was just too complicated - especially the rituals.

Please make sure to keep them straight.

However, in this case, yes, the restriction on secession with the capital of the realm is gone. I'm...not sure if that was deliberate or not, but at least now the two options are in balance with what their restrictions are.

Thank you for clarifying this. So both options are actually a possibility for O.T. city. Good to know ...

I got the information that it is possible for a capital to secede and that it happened on Atamara already.

Can a capital secede now?  They didn't used to be able to but I received a letter from my nephew on Atamara that the capital of his old realm seceded to the enemy.

It does feel a bit like there is a build up to something as you say.

Well, it all started a few days ago, when a few high ranking and longstanding nobles voiced their concerns and mentioned that Duke Valak might try to secede soon.  Also, some of the  autochthonous degenerates (Delirus included) felt that a bunch of "normal"  human beings were taking over the Duchy of Outer Tilog without talking very much and without honouring the (crazy) traditions of the realm.  Being paranoid and insane in nature, quite a lot of nobles plotted against the mighty duke, trying to weaken his position  by stabbing him and banning his lords. That is the true reason why Delirus issued both bans. Of course, as far as he is concerned, the true reason could always be the black mead he constantly is consuming. In any way, Duke Valak proves to to be quite resistant so far. :) So the plot goes on ...

No, I'm not a member of any clan. While I do know some BM players in real life, NONE of them has a character in Outer Tilog.Yes there is some plotting and counter-plotting going on, but, at least as far as I'm concerned, it is purely IC.  I  don't know what else to say about this, but I'm certainly ready to answer any questions.

Yeah, it would definitely have to be the same duchy each time, with the duke auto-changing to be the current ruler.

Well, during the first days the new editor drove me crazy and I still have my share of problems with it.

Whenever I'm including scribe notes, I have to use the plain html option (or get crazy), which means my messages are more work to write. For an example, with the old system I didn't have to to use "br" or "p" for getting into the next line.

When I don't have to include scribe notes, the new editor is working ok and it's quite comfortable to create a nice layout for your letter.

Frankly, I'm in love with BM since several years, and this is the first time I'm thinking twice about  recommending the game. BM is based on letters and text. Now, if sending letters gets complicated and you have the choice of using html OR don't sending scribe notes at all ... well let's just say it's  very uncomfortable, especially for new players.  >:(
