BM General Discussion / Re: Abuse of religion

Yeah, making it state worship would be pretty legitimate. Kind of like the Papal States or the Roman cult of the imperator.

As long as it can be roleplayed legitimately and not solely used as a tool of the players to powergame, It's ok in my book.

BM General Discussion / Re: To RP or not to RP...

I RPed quite a lot a few years ago. It's great fun for you and everyone else reading it if your RPs are done up properly.

The best way to roleplay IC events is to RP your decision as you make the decision, or shortly after.

For example...

If you're a ruler, and you want to RP your decision to go to war, do so just before you click the "declare war" button IC.

Or if you want to place a bounty and RP why you did it. Place the bounty first, then RP your thoughts.

That simple.

Yeah that's not okay in my book.

What bugs me are the "atheist" or agnostic nobles in BM. Completely unrealistic. Everybody believed in something in the Middle ages, whether it was your personal house gods, some great pantheon, or the Judeo-Christian God.

Anyways, I don't think the great Tee-hom will intervene here unless it's on Dwilght.

Southern logic wins again ya'll!

Anyways,

The general debauchery in BoM is pretty hilarious. Lots of killing things with axes and getting drunk on mead in the process.

Yeah the medals system is in place already, and I think achievements would detract from the "sandbox" aspect of BM.

What about random, widespread famines? food dries up thus gold dries up, ergo less troops and vulnerability. The realm undergoing a famine would either have to buy food off of a neighbor or go out and loot food/gold from neighboring realms. I know we already have a food system in place (unless its been changed recently, I haven't been around in a couple years), but why not increase the severity associated with a lack of food? That would bring back the importance and fun in being a trader, create a legitimate RP reason to go to war, be completely random and unbiased, and create obvious incentives to go to war.

Think how awesome it would be to see BoM absorb a starving MI, or to watch a weak CE get torn asunder by an opportunistic Talerium. Similar situations could occur in the FEI and Dwilight, but those continents don't matter....  ;)
