Could someone break down for me what events occurred after the success against Melhed, I’m just curious how Thalmarkin has gotten to be so small. I know there is a general decline of players, but it seems an extreme case for my beloved Thal.

Indeed! Let all the plotting begin again.

If anyone knows me, they should already know what I’m gunning for.

Considering the name and original weal of this topic, I find it rather fitting to post this here:

Letter from Jaeger Guile
Message sent to all nobles of Luria Nova (23 recipients) - 2 hours, 30 minutes ago
Hail and well met, my fellow Lurians!

I am Jaeger, of House Guile. My family was once known throughout the Lurian holdings, many years ago. I know the legends and whispers that have flown since my family’s disappearance, and I seek to put them all to rest in this lifetime. I wish to bring Honour and Glory to my House, my Duchy, and most of all: Luria.

I look forward to getting to work with all of you, and for whatever challenges lie ahead.

If anyone could send me a brief idea of the situation and where my men can best be used, I would be quite appreciative.

In Blood and Honour,
Jaeger Guile
Knight of Askileon

Make Luria Great Again.

That will be all.

Your opinion is duly noted Qyasogk. It still doesn't change my stance on things.

I feel that there should be no overlap between islands when it comes to religion, plain and simple. That has nothing to do with limiting how people play their characters. All it does is limit the spread of a religion that is founded on one island to another, which in my opinion is against the spirit of even having distinct realms.

I imagine Sanguis Astroism and it's beliefs being relocated to say, EI or SI, and the idea of it makes me ill. Maybe if a religion were to entirely take over one island with no competition whatsoever, then I would be more accepting of it spreading outside of it's physical boundaries (being the island itself).

Just taking the ideas that someone else put together ages ago and trying to apply that to a brand new realm on a recently resurfaced island: lazy.

(this is entirely my opinion, and if it bothers people: I don't care. The religion aspect of battlemaster is one of my absolute least favourite features in the entire game. In all of my years of playing BM, I have only had two good experiences with the religion game. Otherwise, it is just another tool for popularity contests: which we already have ample amounts of.)

Well Church of Humanity is on three continents already. Why aren't you complaining about them?

If I knew CoH was on three continents, I could have used that example just as easily.

+1 to Indirik's post.
I also feel like each island should have it's own distinct style and vibe, and the crossover of some people who are too lazy to create something new and just force a religion from another island onto a (in this case) brand new realm that had a million options before it, really does destroy the religion aspect. It's lazy, boring, and frankly rather sad.

The Sartanists needs to just accept that Sartan does not have a place on SI. It's ridiculous to try and force it everywhere, and it seriously destroys the entire religion aspect of the game for me.

It's *more* important to Sandalak that Toren Stronghold, which is overrated.

Yup. Your argument of morale high ground is backwards Haerthorne. The toren switch sucks mostly because money has been dumped into it and now that investment belongs to a foe. But Korlok is far more strategically sound in the short and long term. I look forward to seeing the stronghold switch several more times before I take over as lord and hold onto it until reset. For the Wyvern Incarnate's eternal glory, of course.

That was me.  I asked the realm for donations to build it so we could throw a tournament and  the winner would have become lord of Ikalak city.

You do know it is WAR Island, right? Not ridiculous investment island?

Sandalak by no means needed to pull back, but it was extremely sporting of them to do so. I give a lot of kudos to Zakky and his minions, I never would have done something like that. Even if it meant risking temporary overextension, I would have gone for the killing blow. The opportunity was too open to pass up. This way gives a lot more people a lot more fun for much more time, so again:

Kudos!

BM General Discussion / Re: GREAT MOMENTS... IN BATTLEMASTER HISTORY
« on: June 30, 2014, 04:15:06 PM »
Back during the Ibby vs Perdan/Caligus war that led to Ibby's demise I played another infil for Caligus. Collecting bounties on EC was an adventure, and also led to my infil being tortured and resigning from being an Infil, running for General, and sparking the war with Ibby by doing a lightning invasion of Fontan and watching the Ibladesh forces moving up into a giant defensive trap when they crossed into Caligus lands. The entire war was amazing, but the opening phases were a blast to be involved in.

I don't think I need to go into any specific details, but Sevastian was also one of my joys. Causing mayhem in Luria, Morek, and that grubby little republic that he founded....Taking Balance's Retreat from the rogues, being the first and third lord of the region, holding onto it for a RL year...ya, whoever has the region now can go ahead and fix the region description (cause the one you have is rubbish! :P)

I'd like to start this party by giving a nod to the Ninja Assassin Wizard that was Jaeger Guile. Through the crafty use of scrolls, this infiltrator would drop monster bombs in Melhed, teleport to another realm, stab the Melite Queen, and then teleport away for plausible deniability. The guy was a one man army for the better part of two weeks, and did as much as any single army to lock that war up. His actions also started a raging debate in Thalmarkin about what "honor" meant, and whether we had become a realm of necromancing northmen. So, here's to you, Ninja Assassin Wizard. Blazing a trail with an army of undead in the vanguard.

This is my favourite personal moment in BM. Jaeger was an experiment that was wildly successful. And he was also the motivation for the new character that was brought up to BT. ;)

I miss my undead and monstrous armies. :( I also miss harming nobles, stabbing nobles, healing kings, ruining units, and generally being a nuisance to the non-Thalmar. Soon....mmmyessssss....
