Cheers. Will do. Thanks.

Perhaps you are not a good one to say then what "was cheating", if you are just a player of the game.

Nor,  "perhaps you should think before you acted".

Not necessarily a toxic game, it has a quite nice community generally. But, wow. There are some....

As a teeny tiny bit of other advice, maybe being a little bit nicer sometimes lappallanch, to people trying to ask vaguely valid newbie questions on the Helpline bit of the forum would make the Titans look a bit less !@#$witish.

Anyway. Have a good one all.

Well. Anyway. I'm out.  I just left the game.

I'll take the time to read the above posts later.

But it's a game. If it starts seeming like a chore, and you couldn't play your character "properly" (considering Dwilight is the SMA continent, and being wishy-washy on stuff isn't Franklin's thing, but game mechanics was putting him there), easy. Don't. There's other games.

I'm not doing it as a protest. I just hope that the next time the Titan's think they're punishing one or two people's behaviour in-game, that they realize they may be punishing 10-12 others that were just bystanders. And making it an absolute !@#$ing chore to play in-character, yet you're really just trying your best to pick up the pieces their arbitrarily bull!@#$ decisions put in front of other players to try and recover any sort of story from.

Me?  Couldn't be bothered. Got better things to do.

Try not to !@#$ up 10+ other people's game while trying to punish one or two. It's fairly good advice.

Thanks all. It's been fun. Until it wasn't.

Because over the years, I have seen the Titans arbitrarily do many things, that ruin at least my fun of the game. And I tend to play in the spirit of the game.

That is why people think that.

Well, such is Battlemaster.

Sol on Dwilight has had a rough time of late. Split off from their original Realm, then their ruler and Swordfell's were deposed by the Titan's because they decided it was cheating.

So we all RP'd our butts off. Two entire governments were formed. Similar, yes, and even in Alliance with each other (we are both getting attacked by the same foreign power, and have much history together),  and even are now RPing the changeover of the ruling position from the previous holders.

We're all doing it as "totally not a coup detat",  so nicey nicey, but there's probably no way the former rulers are getting back their positions easily.

And so, I'm now Imperator of Sol. IE, ruler.
But I was banker (Overseer) and general (Archmarshal), now I'm not.
I'm also not Lord of my previous region, a mountain region called North Divide.
The Realm of Sol also has no duchies instituted any more.

I did accidentally appoint one of the accused by the Titans as Archmarshal, but only because our recently established government was stripped of all positions. I would have appointed her Overseer, instead, in hindsight.

Is all this normal?
No duchies, no positions for the new ruler, can only appoint one person to one position, realm "resurfaced" to new, just because I ran for Ruler? Kind of seems like another kick to the crotch after all we've been through, that few seem to see as "against the spirit of the game" anyway.

Helpline / Re: EMERGENCY - Possible Player Suicide - NEED HELP!
« on: December 16, 2015, 04:32:54 PM »
Just in case it helps.

Bay12 was where I found out about Battlemaster. There's heaps of gamers that check the site, and there's posts back from 2012 in the thread referencing the La Pointe family in BM.

Nothing from the player of these characters though.

Still, b12 has a heap of game players, in heaps of genres of games, so maybe it can help. Hopefully someone knows the player.

The posts may sound harsh, but the internet is.

Development / Re: Problems on new server?

Same. Advy movement worked fine though.
Movement worked on Atamara.

Getting some oddities on sending messages that I didn't notice before:

Notice: Undefined variable: Guild in /home/battlemaster/website/stable/message-write.php on line 548

On message send by a noble to lord on Atamara.

Notice: Undefined variable: ExcludeList in /home/battlemaster/website/stable/message-write.php on line 501
You paid 1 silver for having this message sent.
On advy to guild on Atamara.

And this on advy movement on Atamara:

Notice: Undefined variable: TravelTime in /home/battlemaster/website/stable/Travel2.php on line 78

After movement complete.

With a:

Notice:  Undefined

On initial box for hunting (works fine when removed though).

Something similar in the resting box for the bedroll entry.

Pretty sure the same happened to me.

No travel on Atamara.
Travel on Dwilight worked fine.

Things do seem a little slower on the mobile site, with some things not wanting to load easily (only really a problem for advies and hunting).

Still, we're getting there. Keep up the good work guys. Big hardware changeovers never go as smoothly as you'd like. I'll chuck a donation in soon just for all the hard work you must all be doing in the background. Cheers.

edit: mobile site seems to fail on page loads sometimes. Half-travel maps, non-loads, etc. This is through Opera Classic on Android, which has a hard time on some scripting/JavaScript pages sometimes, but is great on others, so if the gritty backend got updated, it might be that. I've got other browsers on my phone. But mobile site seems far less "loady-on-click" through this browser now. Press stop, press reload, usually works.

Some things fixed, some not. Travel not working on Dwilight, but taxes were gained and I think hours refreshed. Advies seem to be working fine though (movement ok, investigation, hunting all good). Tileni Janelle as Noble, stuck on ferry between Giask and Askileon. Rp'd a drinking session before hand funnily enough :)

Atamara seems to be working. Arrived in region properly.

After getting many reports of "You have increased your x skill", it didn't budge an inch on the Fame screen. That might not be accurate though, not as a skill amount (is it more of a "top listing"?)

The fame screen also said I had 7 in infiltration as an advy, so who knows. I've just enoblised that character, so I'll do more research.

I know. But it's pretty cool that Luria both broke with SA, yet probably has more SA temples than any other realm. And they still function.

Yeah. Regardless of the West, my current advy is getting beaten and battered far more often recently. I think she was about 75 weapon/75 adventure equipment capped, but apparently you can only go 1% higher than equipment cap (no matter how many times it says you've increased your skill). It's a proper hard cap, not a soft-cap until you buy stuff.

But yeah. Stuff is harder to fight than it's ever been. I've been told that there's no code changes, but it might be the 3 hour room-rest thing (which is essential for active adventurers, but was being looked into), or a tester for the rise of adventurer guilds on Dwilight (it's because Dwilight advies kick arse).

Still. Gonna send someone somewhere. Why not west?

It's going to be sad yet funny if Luria gets attacked by HD for being the most predominantly ESA and SA realm around.

Those overly pious impious bastards! They don't even have many priests! Get them!

A bit of a necro, but....

Have you thought of sending a couple of adventurers over there to scout the place out for you? Get them to join a guild, give them 50 gold for ship travel and boring services/mail delivery costs, then have them scout out a few regions every day or two.

It'd be a low-cost way of seeing if there's any weak points in hordes. How much do they move around? Etc.

They might even stumble onto an old item or two while investigating (it does happen sometimes).

Sure, they can't actually fight the monsters, but it'd be a cheap way of moderately accurate scouting. They're pretty expendable anyway. That way, we get all the information, while still being able to chop each other apart with proper armies in the meantime.

I'll have a new advy soon (enoblising my current for laughs), so I might be up for it, just to see how it goes. I wonder if the monsters ate all the undead over there? Could almost be a self sustaining scout if they didn't. Bring a tent and some adventure gear and see how it goes.
