Ohmy... going to lose this war before it even started... :(

It's part of a master plan. We get Sandalak destroyed, assimilate, and then destroy the other realms from within.

Ps we have the most nobles \o/

Good, more reason to kill each other.

BM General Discussion / Re: Number of Players Lost Since Glacier?
« on: April 10, 2014, 09:18:12 PM »
I plan on pausing my characters in the next week or so. The glacier event is a major reason behind this. I don't think any malice was involved in the glacier position decisions, but the effect that it is having is certainly unpleasant for many, myself included. I understand why it is being done, as player density has been decreasing for a very long time.

I've had a lot of fun with BM over the years, and maybe I will again in the future.

I've already bought Age of Decadence, so I might wait to buy Watch Dogs. I don't really have time for more than one game at a time.

BM General Discussion / Re: Land of the Active Dukes
« on: August 11, 2013, 01:44:50 AM »
For most of the time I have played, the realm I've been in that has most often had the most active and talkative members—including Dukes—has been Riombara, on Beluaterra.

The dukes in Luria are also relatively active, though I wouldn't say especially higher than average. (I'm one of them ;D )

Riombara has probably the most active Dukes, in a realm that I'm in. All the Kindaran Dukes are pretty active as well.

I like Indirik's suggestion, though I wouldn't make younger characters immortal. Instead, give all characters a very low chance of mortality, from wounds increasing in severity, that increases every in game year, and increases more rapidly with age.

Um...were you on Dwilight during the first 2-3 years of its life?

This. I got a border city, Aegir, in a the first few months of Dwilight. I didn't hold it long. Monster can be a huge threat. While I agree that PvP is much more fun than PvE, I think that a monster fighting role could be important and would be attractive to some players.

More and more. Rather than simply increase the spawn rate, also make the spawned units more powerful. At their current size, they're more nuisance than scary.

So, we going to do this or not?

Far East Island / Re: FEI Adventurers
« on: August 02, 2013, 01:36:45 AM »
That's one of the reasons why I thought FEI might be fun since I was hoping I might eventually run into some nobles willing to engage my advy for services.

Alpha kept several advs. Onamont sold some items and eventually got Azohib. The adventurer carrying my two favorite items died, got deported, or quit the game. That was disappointing.

I've played two adventurers on dwilight. Both died shortly after getting unique items. Even more disappointing.

Didn't play III, but I'm a big CK2 and V2 fan. I'll probably buy it.

BM General Discussion / Re: Save [Insert Continent]

I've recruited 5 or 6 of my friends to play the game, at various time. They all quit within a month or so.

I don't know how to increase new player retention, but I think it's, at least, equally important to the recruitment of new players.

Joining a realm in the do-nothing doldrums is probably the most major issue behind new players quitting. It isn't the norm, but I've been in realms with 40-50 people, without receiving much more than one or two messages, from another player, per day for weeks at a time. This is one of the reasons I like the return of war islands so much. Even if nothing else is happening in the regular game, a new player will at least get a taste of battle there.

Same thing under ruler OOC ban.

"On the Far-East Island, you are allowed to ban people for repeatedly and consistently refusing to roleplay."
