I may lurk the forum now and then, but I have no intention on recreating my family nor creating a new one. I've been entertaining the thought of leaving BM for maybe two years now, and I did deleted most of my characters and pause my last one at one point, but I finally deleted my account this time.
I haven't had any fun playing BM in far too long. The people I enjoyed playing with are long gone, the people who replaced them I don't enjoy playing with. BM's culture has shifted and there is very little left of the team spirit that existed back when I joined in 2006. Without wishing to overglorify some of the attitudes of 2006, feels to me like the balance was achieved around 2009 and then from there things just started spiraling out of control.
BM is decaying. The playerbase is dwindling, and none of the desperate measures taken have succeeded (if anything they may have made things worse). There is no reason to believe that this downwards trend will do anything but continue. I therefore see very little reason to ever come back... the problems are with the community, but also structural. BM was designed for lots of players, and with the densities we are reaching, a lot of things are breaking down. I've never been so bored by military conflicts.
Pierre's dead....
What category was he in again?
Sadly the great Pierre Von Genf has died in battle against the Lurians while defending his capital, Qubel Lighthouse. The particular man responsible for his death is Aldrakar Renodin, the Imperial Marshal of Luria Nova. Nobles all over Dwilight mourn over the great loss, albeit no time is wasted getting back to business as well as his duties now need to be fulfilled with his absence.
Bank visit - you are not in a city or the capital of your realm, where banks accepting your bonds would be.
I feel like I'm the only one who thinks closing the local boards is a bad idea. They're the only place that I feel gives a sense of the continent evolving around your realm. Without that, realms might as well be singular islands to me that merge when there's a war and then quickly separate again afterward. It also give's a very, for lack of a better metaphor, "bar-top" feel where people discuss the events going on in a (sometimes) objective way...
I'm glad he met the end you wanted for him. Armstrong was a great, well-drawn character and he deserved to go out in the style you wanted.
If we can get his body back from Nivemus, the CoH will lay him to rest in the Sacred Order of Battle in Morshes, as per his wishes. Thomas has given him a full pardon and decreed that Armstrong will be entombed with all honours due to a fallen king. His weapons, armour, and the flag and crown of Fane will be placed in the tomb with him. Let the bards make him into a legend.
All hail Armstrong, the once and future king!
Nivemus will gladly deliver his body with full respect given to the man. Let us know IC?
By the way, do anyone calculate how long Fane realm is created until its demise?
Duel Death (16 hours, 29 minutes ago)
Armstrong has suffered a fatal blow in a duel against Malakai. He died quickly.
Duel (16 hours, 29 minutes ago)
Armstrong Ironsides, King of Fane, Royal of Fane, Duke of Oligarch meets his challenger Sir Malakai Wolf, Legodos of Nivemus, Baron of Caqueta, Marshal of High Guard for the agreed duel till death.
Malakai has decided to use the 'trick moves' strategy while Armstrong has chosen the 'overrun' strategy, giving Malakai the advantage.
The duel goes as planned, then badly for Armstrong. He suffers several slight wounds, then a final, fatal blow. The healers hurry, but they are too late.
Malakai, although the winner, has also suffered a light wound.
