Hahhaa, Brownsides.

Submitted for the entertainment of this forum, here are the insults I've tossed at Duke Sevastian the Brown thus far, AND, I assert that I am the reigning Champion Insulteer. Ain't nobody slung insults like me.

Curtain call:

Quote
Duke Sevastian,

When you finally get around to getting off my seat I intend to have the cushion replaced. Reason being I do not believe you have the social civility to hygienically tend to your behind after you exit a swell brown. What's that? Do I detect the mockery a political analogy? Could it be that your departure from our realm after this scandal exactly parallel to the exit of a swell brown?

Duke Sevastian, you hold to your titles and your lands so closely that I am unable to tell where one begins and one ends. Well I've got news for you! I am going to bury you in your lands with your titles and write an epitaph for you. It reads: "Here lies Sevastian the Brown, buried alive with his only friend, a rat!"

I will state this though, you are the stain of our realm's foundation!

Mhmm, that's good insulting!

Oh boo hoo!

And I rather like your new name. It's both cheeky and emphatic. Very subtle and clever an insult.

Don't even play like you haven't been the aggressor in this.

Aggressor? I asked you to resign, you refused. Hm, what to do what to do. I argued with you, you told me to sit down and wait (me, the guy rightfully chosen by the community to be ruler). Hm, what to do what to do. I ordered you, you disobeyed! Hm, what to do what to do. So I denounced you from the realm and branded you our enemy.

We should call this, The People of Swordfell Versus Sevastian the Brown!

...now he's planting his feet and setting his roots.

Otherwise defined as USURPATION! Boo! Hsss! Hss! You set yourself up for a hard fall. I never minded you being the Duke of BR and what not, but now you will lose all of that. So sorry, I tried not to let you tie that noose! Swing!

When Hireshmont heard Bowie Ironsides as being associated with the Moot, he just about pooped himself.

I know, eh! Bowie as a scoundrel, sure everyone knows that, but all of a sudden he's the octopus behind every conspiracy and secret society. Not too long ago a noble in the Morek Empire was caught doing some kind of back deal with D'Hara and apparently belonged to a secret society. Automatically Bowie was associated with it and suspected. It was hilarious!

His ties with Allison and the 'Moot are also extremely suspect.

*Spews juice from mouth.

I what!? Ties with Allison Kabrinski (she wanted to kill me)? The MOOT (except as an observer)? Hahahhahahahahaaaaahahahhahahahahhaha......hhahahahhahahahahahhahahahahahhahahahahahahahah!!!!!!!

Oh brother! Please, please, bring that up IC. PLEASE!

Swordfell for the Fellish! (not Sevastian!)

Hey Woelfy, put our contest on the courthouse boards. I am interested to see what the other players think. I believe you are incorrect. Of course this has turned into an epic life and death struggle (so soon! and here poor Bowie thought he finally found his sanctuary). It's worth a look see for the others.

Oh, look Ma! There's a forum topic on Swordfell!

All the rumours you heard about Bowie are true, especially the ones told by those snake tongued red-tailed theocrat Astromancers!

Helpline / Laaggggg
« on: November 02, 2012, 03:33:37 AM »
Is it just me or is the site taking an unusually long time to load now? I noticed this maybe a day or two ago; that changing characters, or sending letters, or loading other screens in the game take a really long time to load up. I find myself tabbing to other sites while I'm waiting. It can't be my computer/internet because everything else works fine. Except BM.

Anyone else noticed the lag too?

They're not exactly opposites. Someone can be of the hero class and still be a villain.

True, but I suppose it depends on if you consider "hero" a protagonist character and a "villain" an antagonist/diabolical one. Heroes tend to be good in nature and villains bad. You are right though.

How's about Pomp and Bloodshed?

Or "Pomposity! The Hit Browser Game from Tom"

There is a great joy to being a villain, even though it might take forever to experience it or it comes in one big swoop and  then drops off for years. I can say that of all my characters I have had the most fun being a demon with Bowie, and that wasn't always doing bad things. Just saying bad things is fun. He nearly lost his head for offending the daimons. Ha!

Heroes are fun to play too, but I find that nobody plays heroes (real heroes, the class) well enough. When Armstrong became a hero that was a defining moment in his life. Everything afterward revolved around the fact that he was a hero. Everyone else was all like "just because I'm a hero doesn't mean I am above anyone." And I always said, "yes it does!" You're the one who is supposed to wear the shiniest armour and laud your glory more than anyone else. You have the potential to die, they don't. You are the one who wants to be at the front of the line and counting heads (not in the maniac way, but in the "look at my offerings to you my king/god (if they're zealot heroes)). Heroes are supposed to shine twice as bright and half as long. Others are supposed to look to you and say, "his achievements and glory far accede my own. he is someone to elevate." If even for RP moments. Otherwise, why be a hero?

Such an idealistic look for Bowie! I am unsure if he lives up to that handsomeness/dashery, well maybe when he was younger. He's nearing sixty now, so he probably looks more like this:

Besides my personal favourite villain (the Demon of Dwilight himself) who are your favourite villains on Dwilight?

Rathan Himoura the II was a dastardly one, he betrayed Bowie and caused him to have to flea D'Hara. He caused some other trouble and then was executed. The tyrant of Thulsoma was an interesting character (what was her name? Haruka?). I also remember Garret Artemesia who rebelled in Aquilegia then became a Zuma ambassador. He was usually up to no good. I can't remember any other Dwilight villains off the top of my head. Most don't have the publicity that Bowie does, and have just become anecdotes or distant memories.

BM General Discussion / Re: How do you feel about multiple characters?
« on: September 27, 2012, 09:39:50 PM »

I had two of my characters death duel each other once. It was all done RP (so not to game the system or anything), and a pretty cool story arc for me. They both survived though. I always wondered if they survived because it is not allowed for members of the same family to kill each other (some code restriction maybe?) or because Bowie Ironsides is in fact immortal and uber because of the Demon?

Food for thought.. 8)
