So how do you explain for the loss of skill? What kind of trader forgets how to do his job?

There has to be a better way to represent youth or inexperience. Maybe a grade level? Or show your skills on some page so you have something to work?

Right, but the fact that no one has any idea about their skills until they find out they don't have the skill to do something seems harmful to the experience. Skills have no presence until you lose them or find out you're not skilled enough. Academy's aren't worth the time or gold, and skills aren't making the game experience any more fun. Who pays attention to them? Who invests in them? Why have them?

ya my trader was at his region's market. but to be honest i still don't agree with having a trading skill. i'd rather see it done in a different way. for example, maybe the markets themselves can have a fixed distance and part of the trader game is to know which markets can reach what distances. selling food should only be a matter of having enough and finding a buyer, what skill is necessary behind that?

and really, who spends time in the academy anyway? even though infiltrator class can be a very useful thing to have its inaccessible, in my opinion, because of the heavy skill requirement. where is the fun in spending weeks paying for training just to get deported? and what kind of trader wants to spend money "learning how to make business" when it should be simple.

skills in general, i've found, are unfun.

and now my trading distance is 271 miles! serious bug? wtf?

And I believe the trading skill hinders the class because it will cause new traders (and ones like me who suddenly find their skills completely drained for some reason) not wish to trade. trading should be based on the network of markets and contacts, not a skill. if someone enters the trading skill they will be useless to the point of not continuing in that class. skills should apply to actions in the field like infiltrators and i suppose swordsmanship.

I have noticed that my trader character has lost some distance when visiting the marketplace. Last time he was able to see a bit over 600 miles but now only 542. The time between my current visit and the last time I was at the marketplace was about a weekish. I have never seen it deplete that much that fast before (or ever).

What are the parameters for the trading skill? How do I get it to increase? How does it decrease? Can I train it at an academy?

Also, since I am on the subject, why even have a trading skill? It seems a bit aggravating considering it effects the distance a trader has when brokering deals at the marketplace. I find it an obstacle to being a trader (not in a good way. It does not improve the class at all).

Someone with greater knowledge on the trader skill please explain it to me. Or, if you agree that it is unhelpful join in!

Bowie is banned from ever traveling to the Occidens on account of a blood feud between he and Haktoo (the horrible toothed).

Zuma = evil!

Will colony takeovers be returned to Dwilight soon? If not, how else may we found a new realm?

What's wrong with dueling over insults? I don't get the issue here. Then again, like the incident in the University, I've come late to this discussion....

Absolutely not ever. Over my dead body. I'm already unhappy with the restrictions as they are in, but there would've been way too much protest if I hadn't put them in. Over time I'll see if I can reduce them.

See, trade is supposed to be this anarchistic, crazy free-for all things that ultimately will bring down the feudal system. Trade is intended to be impossible to really control. There is supposed to be a factor of "risk" involved - political risk, not monetary or otherwise.

So, there is no reason for me to arrange trade deals between two realms? Our realm will just post a bunch of offers to the market and hope that our target realm seeks them out if they felt like it? I don't see how politics could get involved in that. No one would have any idea who bought our food in the end. It'll just go somewhere, maybe.

I would like for trade offers to be able to specify realms.

Just in the way that you can send gold to a specific noble you should be able to sell food to a specific realm (and I suppose have the feature not to let certain realms trade with you). If my realm forms a trading pact with another realm I wouldn't want some other trader taking our deals just because they are allies with us. That would ruin the whole point of the pact. Unless there is another way to ensure this that I don't know about?

Ladies and Gentlemen,

Foreign Leave
Kalince Fanath, Prime Minister of D'Hara, Duke of Sallowtown has abdicated (automatically, due to inactivity).

Bowie won! All it took was some ridiculing and no nonsense language and the Duckface resigned! Haahahahaaaa! I hope the next challenger is more fun than the last. Duckface, to be frank, wasn't strong enough character wise to face an opponent like Bowie. He didn't have the necessary verbal repertoire either. If I were D'Hara I would reconsider my methods of discerning nobles for Prime Minister. The didn't do a very good job with the last one  ;D Happy to help out fellas, I'll weed'em out for ya!

Bowie would sniff out that trap a mile away. And I've heard his insistent harassment has rattled the duckface's cage a bit! whoo hoo! soon he'll be facing metal, or else. Or else what? Exactly.

Right, but only you and Bowie's demon know that. Good luck getting him to admit it. Let's see how far this goes.......

Of course, you do realize that Bowie's ban from D'Hara means he's not eligible to be duke of Sallowtown anyway, right?  ;D

I enjoy the madness, and the personal message you sent Gornak--Machiavel shared his with the realm.

1) The ban expired when Bowie was deported (at least on his end)
2) That's not the point! The point is that Bowie has a claim to Sallowtown and he demands they respect it. If Kalince dueled him everything would be settled, it's not like Bowie would take Sallowtown anyway but so long as he remains the Prince of Sallowtown/retains his claim over it (which he was willing to let Kalince challenge him) then everything would be fine. But noooo, now its turned into a feud!
