Valid, considering they use the names of pagan gods.  Which I thought was a bit of a no-no, as there are pagan sects that still pay homage to said gods...  It'd be like creating a religion with a god named Jesus Christ and claiming to not be Christianity.

Eh, naming your gods after Norse gods is a reasonably common fantasy trope.

The Order of the Elders, locked in a brutal religious conflict with the Church of Sartan, have overplayed their hand by demanding a theocracy of the Elders be carved out of the lands of the Sartanian Kingdom of Sorraine - thus revealing openly their long suspected support for Ohnar West which has included financial support to followers of another faith!

It remains to be seen how the nobility of the Far East will react to this shocking revelation. how much of the nobility will actually be shocked by this not-really-a-revelation.

I am always sad about how much of the history of the FEI I missed during my long break from BM.

Lasanar was still going strong when I left, I recall they had recently destroyed a realm in the north that I had a character in, and that character then fled to Nighthelm.

Morgan and Nighthelm didn't get along, I can't recall if it cam to actual war before I left or not . . . I recall a lot of arguments on the ruler channel, though.  But then I got wounded and lost rulership, and then I got very sick in RL and stopped playing, and ended up not coming back for a couple years.  And everything had changed. . . .

That doesn't mean it wasn't stilled ruled by an Emperor . . . I can't recall if they were, though.  Svunnetland was.  One of the other oldbies might have a better memory than I, I wasn't around at the very beginning.

Pft, Morgan wants Ohnar West and Sorraine to kill each other, he is not a fan of either realm.

I just know that other people may be supporting them from other realms.  Or were thinking of doing so, I don't know if they actually are.

Exactly.  It is the seeing 'we believe' as a weak statement saying 'we think is right' that is the modern interpretation -- in this context, is is a strong affirmation, saying 'belief in this is what makes someone a member of SA.'

'Creed,' translates basically as 'belief' from what I understand.

I don't know that I'd compare GA to Switzerland.  Switzerland may be neutral, but they had the most respected mercenaries in late medieval times, and I understand that their military is still rather badass today.

That's largely due to me being in the hospital for the past week and not getting around to finishing dealing with diplomacy.

Is it really a realm merger if the ruler of Kabrinska didn't have any say in it?  It seems like it's more a case of a duke taking their duchy away without the permission of the rest of the realm . . . now, it's possibly exploitation of a bug that they could do so, but that's not actually a merger in the sense that we've been told is Bad.

Well, I'd imagine murder and "bloodletting" is how one worships the God of War.

This is why Morgan has never exactly trusted the religion, regardless of what their followers say.

Also, the fact that their theocracies have a habit of going to war with Zonasa.
