The Rebels got crushed in the second battle. Some last minute support for the loyalists, and outspoken rebel Kellan Dodger getting wounded in a death duel with Reyjkovik III Draekarne, hurt them badly going into the battle. Sir Lionel Kinsey replaces Dodger as Strategos, further weakening their ability to fight against the loyalist forces. Now that Duchess Selenia JeVondair has joined the loyalists and called on her vassals to do so as well, the rebellion has pretty much no hope of success. Rebel leader Duke Iuz Vidar Crownguard has agreed to Duchess Selenia's demand to leave her city.

Whelp, it's been fun. If I'm going to have to pause one of my two active characters, might as well pause the other one too and just be done with BM entirely. I just don't have time to play on the more active islands and roleplay as I would like to, which is why I've mostly stayed on the Colonies. This act just limits my ability to interact with the game, so why bother at all? Good luck on your future endeavors, and getting and keeping new players, this old player is done.

Also make good takeover forces, as archers they'll only risk troop loose to attacks that crack through the infantry line, starvation, and equipment fights. I like to have one large cheap archer unit to act as an anchor to TOs, letting attack units swap out for repair and resupply as they need it.

I currently have two active characters, Vladamire (my very first character in BM) in his home realm of Outer Tilog, and Aramon, lately of Lukon. Aramon I had created to try out the War Islands, on what happened to be their last hurrah  in that format, and moved him to the Colonies afterward (where is misadventures saw him kill the judge of Alebad in a duel during that realms dying days, become Shadow Tyrant of the Assassins, court another noble, die/reappear in Lukon, and eventually become General of Lukon). I've tried the various islands with various characters over my time in BM back in 07, but it always comes back to these two: 1)Because I don't have the time anymore to handle two turns a day, and 2)Because the history of the characters, 8 years or so RT leads to a lot of character building. That doesn't mean I'll never play Mastraacht over in Fissoa again, or my advy in Arcaea, but if I'm forced to pick one of my characters on the Colonies to move or become inactive or something happens to make the years worth of character building I've been trying to do with them vanish, well, I might just stop playing all together. Which would be a shame, because I'd miss playing with the guys over in the Colonies (even Jeremy Stephens, whose character Innocent Noble has been a thorn in my characters sides for years *shakes fist!*)

Yes, in Outer Tilog you can raise your troops morale by spending a few hours whipping a few select soldiers.

Under Orders:
Quote
Torture your men - this is Outer Tilog, they'll like it.

Under that option:
Quote
So your men don't quite "get" the Outer Tilog way? Have them line up and torture them a little. Those who don't get a part of the fun can watch, as a reminder.
This torture session will raise morale through... well, mostly through fear though there may be a few soldiers who actually like seing their friends being tortured.
There is a certain risk that you will wound a few of your men, but hey, the healers want to have fun, too, don't they?
Oh, it also takes two hours of time. After all, you want to enjoy it.

Whip 'em!

From my experience at least a couple men end up injured, but it gives a decent morale boost. IIRC, you can actually go above 100% morale using this option.

The funny part? The rebel leader asked him to resign due to the demands of Lukon. Out of the frying pan, into the fire.

Magistrates Case Archive / Re: OOC comments insulting another player
« on: September 06, 2013, 07:12:14 PM »
Speaking as a person who isn't a "mods camping this subforum" I think this is a pretty open and shut case. As Tom pointed out, the rules are clear and it's obvious that his intent was to insult another player. In fact I'd go so far as to say that he has used this case as a platform to continue to attack said player and others and that he sees no issues with his actions:

Point of inaccuracy, I wasn't in the army at the time, so I don't think I can be marshal. Apart from that I completely agree with what I said and wouldn't change a thing. You give orders for 6 months and then some incompetent wrecks everything in 2 weeks and won't even let you fix it because of his ego.

This wasn't the problem at all. If you haven't read Ketchum's post it's a waste of your time to post anything.
The events were
1. terrible command from Ceasar
2. called him out for terrible orders
3. reply from Ceasar in a very tiresome way with both characters
4. sent OOC message 1 with the 3 bullet points, at the same time posting new orders that aren't bad
5. predictably, Ceasar countermands the orders, obviously because he is mad that I called him bad. Obviously this isn't provable (the beloved IC shield) but as you say, he doesn't have strategic acumen and has had no legitimate strategic contribution for the past 6 months, so I really doubt it was conviction in his strategy. I don't care about this retaliation though.
6. second OOC message with final bullet point
7. Eric always reports me lol <3

Also can I get comments from people who aren't mods camping this subforum? The reasons why I would like that are pretty much explained by these posts:
http://forum.battlemaster.org/index.php/topic,5032.msg118610.html#msg118610 (dominance of users with titles)
http://forum.battlemaster.org/index.php/topic,4969.msg117198.html#msg117198 (insularity of subforums)

I can understand why people don't come here though. Most of the cases are very petty.

Your spam about irrelevance is just covering yourself. Surely you have to admit that you shouldn't talk about a case if you haven't got at least a decent understanding of events. You basically admitted to not reading the thread, and jumping straight into your judgement.

--

Did you even read that second post? Yes I want everyone to see how inane this subforum is (secret ballot by a council with no summary of judgement, worst legal system ever), and how it is dominated by people (like you)(which I specify, or I'll probably be accused of being passive aggressive) who:

I don't know if it is proper for me to suggest this, but I recommend that the Magistrates take into consideration the attitude he has displayed in this thread to yourselves and his fellow players when deciding sentencing.

I think a temporary lift for the period of the case so he can give his side wouldn't be unfair, it could just be reinstated afterward (unless there's a limit in the system this forum uses I'm unaware of) and a close watch kept on him during this time to keep him from offending again.

To use your example Eirikr, when I prisoner commits a crime while incarcerated he's typically tried at a courthouse and kept under guard.

Duchy Changes Allegiance   (2 hours ago)

Marquessate Of Evanburg has changed its allegiance with all its regions to the realm of Barca. The duchy used to belong to Aurvandil.

Can't say I blame them. Then again, Mastraacht was a Fissoan spy for a long time before making the switch, so I'm biased. ;)

Also, Fatmilak and the Tower are now under Fissoan control.

An attack on the Takeover of Fatmilak, being performed by The Grand Duchy of Fissoa, by Aurvandil was an unmitigated failure leading to the capture of Knight Hausos At Arms of Aurvandil Drage Lanyon by Duchy forces. Rumors that Aurvandil forces were poisoned just before the attack by a person or persons unknown are unconfirmed. The troops of Aurvandil noble Mastraacht Abjur avoided the fighting and was last seen moving toward  Lugagun.

Roleplay from Mastraacht Abjur
Message sent to everyone in the region Fatmilak (19 recipients)

Mastraacht had ordered his men to the rearguard, let the fools of Aurvandil charge to their deaths its none of our business, he told his men. He watched as the Aurvandil nobles drew up their battlelines and smirked behind his mask as he saw the man who would be High Sovereign took position behind the few who would still fight for his dying realms' banner. His attention focused on the soldiers of the Knight Hausos At Arms. Although Drage didn't notice it, the poison was already at work among his chevaliers, many who stood in the ranks could do so only through leaning on their weapons or each other. As a knight of Tower Fatmilak, it had been child's play to have the local wells they would had filled their skins from poisoned. Mastraacht heard the order to charge and watched as the front line moved out to meet their fate on Fissoan steel, well, those who didn't drop dead or insensible immediately from the poison or from the arrows of Fissoan archers. For his part, Mastraacht made a silent signal to his men, and they threw down the Aurvandil banner and faded into the nearby copse of trees like ghosts toward Lugagun. The last thing he heard as he quit the field was the victory cheer of the Duchy troops, just as planned.

You dont even wanna know how many active nobles are in Aurvandil now...

I have an active noble there, I know. ;)

What in the hell happened? There are two lords in the entire realm??

One currently. Two Dukes and three duchies too.

Multies again?

I'm not sure, but it doesn't seem like it. More like a majority of players have lost interest in the realm since the whole Medicant Incident.
