But he does have a bit of a point, JeVondair. If they hadn't come against us we probably not be as tight knit a realm as we are now. Look how we went head to head over Magnus. Of course, it's a bit too late to back off now. We coming for you now!  :P

Still, the influx of new players is impressive. I still have no idea how you managed to do that. Shame that most of them haven't engaged in other continents, Dwillight in particular.

Fissoa is soooo dull. I'm seriously considering pausing my character there, but that's a subject for another board. I rather like the people we have in Xavax now, so many creative roleplayers. I seriously think the fact that we have so many realms against us helped keep the ones we had and helped drive recruitment. Everyone loves an underdog!

I don't have a problem finding monsters/undead in the south, but we only have like one Wizard who roams the place. Makes getting scrolls or repairing magical items a pain.

After repeated incursions by Perleone, it was decided by Selenia that the best way to get them to back off would be to remove Ibladesh from them.

Considering Perleone's decision to fight GX was based on a pre-ice claim on Oc Lu Pesh (according to their own ruler), I just can't let the fact that they gave away a region (which let Vix take OC Lu Pesh) drop.

Considering GX, even at the time, was nearly twice Alara's size, of course it wasn't going to be an equal alliance and GX was naturally going to be at the head of it. Perleone is tiny and allied with Perdan and Vix, are we to expect them to treat them as an equal? Considering they just handed over a region, I think not. Had we followed through with Magnus' plan Alara would have been in as much a client state/Ally position as Perleone is now, but stronger than they are now for it and with GX ready to supply support because we would have good reason to.

Then players in those realms could ask the ruler (IC or OOC) to move the info to the ruler bulletin if it's no longer critical. That's hardly a good argument against.

I like this idea, sort of like Infiltrator actions to a lesser extent, only instead of getting stabby on a fellow noble, you're getting stabby on that merchant (and then sorting through his pockets afterward). Perhaps the actions can be based off the same skills.

I don't see why it should be limited as suggested though, sure an individual's actions should have little effect on their own (much like courtiers and diplomats have little effect), but nobles can arrest adventurers for any or no reason already, if group of adventurers are causing a problem in a region any troop leading noble can swoop in and gather them up with little trouble as is. Personally I'd like to see that improved upon, maybe at higher skill an adventurer can escape or hide from a noble's troops when a noble tries to arrest them. I could see certain realms hiring such a band of "adventurers" to act as privateers, bandits, or partisans to act against other realms they may or may not actively be at war with as deniable assets (which would give Judges good reason to torture them, as proof that the adventurers are acting as agents of a realm would be good grounds for war).

Heh, the ruler bulletin of Outer Tilog hasn't been updated since it was updated by Lich King on 2004-12-27 (but that was a conscious choice by the players in OT  ;D). It's older than a couple of my kids!

That may be the difference then. It seems then that Sirion is buying all scrolls and using them against us and me personally preferably.

Don't get me wrong, I don't mind them targetting Garas with anything else as he earned that, but the magic should not be on EC let alone this strong. If they capture Garas and execute him due to his ban I'd have no problems with it (I'd be sad sure, but no more) and I then wouldn't want him to be revived then. This is a risk I take by being on front lines every turn, but they already tried once to capture him by removing his hours with magic just as we were moving back after a battle. In stead I got wounded but they'll prob try again. Should that happen I'm now 50/50 between doing everything to destroy Sirion...everything..or just rage quit.

But yeah this is the magic we face every time...

Ah crap, I can understand now why you feel the way you do. I have a character on every island and never encountered anything remotely like that.

I can only recall one major magical incident in the south (portal stones being used in Isadril causing a ton of the population to become a mobile militia that went rampaging northward) we certainly don't see the level of magic use you're describing. Hell, my Advie finally found a wizard for the first time since his creation in the last week or so.

It is the job of each item owner to put item descriptions. You can't simple make the game generate this all the time. Either you will run into many items having common descriptions or it will require too much work for what little worth it has.

I know, I've only played BM since 2007, I've even wrote a couple! :p That was the point of my comparison with D&D's Longsword+1, there shouldn't be items of "little worth" in a low magic setting like BM is supposed to have. To expand the example, I feel items in BM should be more like artifacts in AD&D and earlier, there should only be a handful per island (that are recycled) and when they show up it's a status quo shaking event that encourages roleplaying and storytelling.
