I had thought Lyonesse was sitting in Fiddleford before Ender ever said he'd make raid targets out of anyone who raised arms again him, but I can't remember for sure.

It's nice to know the mere thought of being raided by Vikings inspires that much fear though.  ;)

That is why Heorot was formed. The Barony of Makar had become the definition of stagnation and the Veder Saga's are one of the most frequently autopaused families I've ever seen in this game.

There was a reason Ender stopped giving them lordships back in the Barony. Having them in nearly every important position, this was, sadly, bound to happen.

The Veder Saga family was 3/4 of the council last I checked, so if something happened to them that pretty much wipes out the entire Barony council. They're still region lords, though, so I would think if anything happened it's just a round of autopausing for inactivity.

I can't remember who the other guy was, so I don't know what would have happened there.

Except it's lacking a badger. :(

Well, nothing is perfect.  ;)

That's a roundabout answer to your question and also contingent upon which part of the Middle Ages you looked at.

It certainly answered it and satisfied my curiosity. I'm always more than happy to get more than just the answer I was hoping for or expecting when it comes to this kind of subject. So, thank you!

Ender doesn't care since his world vision is terribly flawed, but I was excited when I saw it happen and I hope you can do interesting things with Silnaria.

Whether or not you will, like Lavigna says, remains to be seen. I hope so though. Seeing the ruler's channel all active is nice.

So, given that the Count of Toulouse could be wealthier and, potentially, more influential due to his wealth than the King of Whales, would the Count of Toulouse have any reason to treat the King of Whales as a higher authority should they happen to meet?

Obviously in BM a count meeting a King would typically be treated as a lesser meeting a superior, unless the Count in question was brave enough or was meeting an enemy, but a rigid title hierarchy wouldn't exist, I'd think, in a fluid political world.

More ransoms and territorial concessions than war reparations as we'd understand them.

See the Peace of Thorn of 1411.

That's more or less what I'd expect to see from that time as I understand it. Thanks for sharing, I'd not read about this particular conflict before.

Everything Scarlett said

That is an excellent point. The idea of someone trying to absolutely obliterate a medieval kingdom seems like it would be near impossible to do unless it was so small that something close to genocide could wipe it out. More culture in Battlemaster would be interesting, but most of it derives from the realm's identity so spreading it doesn't seem to quite work. Religion as culture does spread across borders, though.

On a lighter note, the treaties from Galiard tend to seem very flowery with articulate promises of everlasting peace and friendship (particularly that last one with Kindara). I enjoy them, so I'm glad to see there is some factual base to how they are written.

There has been a lot of back and forth on FEI concerning war reparations after the current war is over. All of this talk of owing one group or another had me curious how war reparations worked in the time period Battlemaster is meant to represent.

I did a quick Wikipedia search and I saw mention of Rome demanding absurd payments as a form of tribute for defeating Carthage and mention of something similar in the Punic Wars. Based on my own knowledge of history and basic common sense, it's obviously not unheard of for the victor to demand spoils of some sort from their vanquished foe, but I was wondering if there are any specific examples of how that would have been decided, worked out, etc. among medieval entities. Was it part of written treaties or something that was just expected?

Can any of our local medieval experts shed light on the specifics?

I just come here to say..Hello!

I am tired of repeating myself over and over why the Empire is strong, and this time i won't say more than this:

Everyone in Atamara, Loves the Empire

Yup i put all special format on it on purpose, so everyone understand, for any more explanation look for my posts where i tirelessly explained over and over with details.

Peace!

It has a line through it though. So, does that mean the statement isnt, in fact, true?  ;)

Rose Tyler is the Bad Wolf, isn't she?

Hopefully someone will get that reference.

She was. I made a super vague reference to it in my post.

Hopefully it doesn't mean the end of the universe. Because that would totally not be absolutely fantastic.

Questions & Answers / Re: Appealing a Titan decision
« on: June 03, 2013, 01:23:30 PM »
Couldn't you use the in game Titan reporting system to funnel complaints into the Magistrates who can then discuss the matter in a private forum in cases where the two parties wish to remain anonymous and then still allow public complaints/cases in the Magistrates forum?

Of course, you'll still need an in game interface to enforce things, but just combining the two seems to make sense.

I've always thought about playing in Darka, but I think Coria sounds pretty interesting based on what I see about it on the forums. I'm planning on keeping myself at one character fairly soon though since I don't always have the time to dedicate that I'd like and a new character would be a big time investment.
