Alliance bloc above limit: Sirion, Caligus, Nivemus, Eponllyn, Shadowdale, and Redhaven
Regions: 69
Over by: 30

Quote
Your alliance bloc consists of Eponllyn, Caligus, Sirion, Shadowdale, and Nivemus, and in total, holds 67 regions. Your bloc as a whole is currently 30 regions over the limit, and if any realms leave the bloc, they will not be able to return.

Did the limits change again?

Could the Devs please look into this? It's been over a week now.

Please let me know if I should file a bug report instead.

There were only two militia units. The rest were angry peasants:

Quote
Total:
30 attackers (766 Inf, 1313 Arch, 220 Cav, 386 SF)
18 defenders (19 Inf, 11 MI, 4172 other)
Total combat strengths: 28946 vs. 16274

Did the combat code change recently? I don't remember ever having this many allied nobles get wounded, during a battle where we won easily and not a single allied unit retreated. I've heard similar reports elsewhere in the past few days, where a few peasant mobs can wound half of the knights who participated in a brief skirmish.

Did you even notice it was in proportionate response to the disgusting suggestion that violating the social contract was a praiseworthy crowning moment of BattleMaster history?

Most of that previous reply was meant to demonstrate the disgust in like proportions to the praise being rendered for violators of the social contract after my more moderate, reasonable response resulted in continued insistence on blaming/not-blaming and effusive praise for poor player behavior.

Did anyone violate the social contract? If so, did you complain to the Titans? If so, what was their verdict?

And even if someone did something wrong, an admin on an internet forum shouldn't be publicly airing his personal bias like this. How can you claim to be unbiased and impartial after this?

Would you still sit down for a board game if the person in charge of explaining the rules calls your past behavior "shameful", "despicable", and "disgusting"?

If you really need to vent, may I suggest making a throwaway account to do so?

What the admins apparently should have done is to punish these shameful players for their despicable actions, but it should be noted that claims of 'winning' the game didnt begin until after their dominance was a fait accompli.

I don't think an admin on the forums should go around calling other players "shameful" and "despicable". :(

Development / Re: Archer targeting
« on: July 23, 2018, 02:59:35 AM »
Archers should potentially target all enemy units within range, with chance based on unit size, perhaps with a moderate preference for those within shorter distance. A large mass of peasant rabble or infantry is going to be a more tempting target than a small, charging cavalry unit, even if the latter might pose a greater threat to the archers.

I understand that the motivation is to stop us from sending on a small unit in front as a "pincushion" unit.

No need to thank me. Just trying to help.  ;)

What's rude is the way Minas Nova is getting manhandled by its own allies.

You don't risk life and limb to fight with folks you are merely peaceful with against a mutual enemy, you let them weaken each other first.

So that you can both get defeated in detail? That seems like faulty tactical reasoning.

But I concede that this is how the game has always worked.

So looking into this, here is what it looks like to me. Correct any errors of understanding, please.

Redhaven was in Winkamus, Highmarch's region. Highmarch and Vix Tiramora were moving into Winkamus. Vix is at war with both Redhaven and Highmarch. Redhaven and Highmarch are at peace with each other.

I went back and checked the order of events. I believe Winkamus was empty the turn before the battle. In other words, everyone moved in on that turn.

Vix Tiramora was the region owner at the time, and the region defected to Highmarch soon after the battle. At no time was Redhaven the region owner.

So I'm wondering why Redhaven was the defenders. My understanding is that the game has a strong preference for choosing the region owner as the defenders? I've had cases where we defeated the region owners and forced them to retreat, and then dug in, and then knights from the region owner marched back in and instantly became the defenders again.

Minas Nova will remain a small client realm for the remainder of its miserably short life, and there is absolutely no room for advancement. Expect weeks of walking around in service to our dread masters. Thank you for your time.

I didn't want you to get in trouble for false advertising, so I fixed it for you. You're welcome.  ;D

Plus, Perdan hasn't had a capital at all this whole time. It might as well be the one named "Perdan". We haven't been able to refit since the shenanigans.

You don't get preferential treatment from the Titans after shooting yourself in the foot. :)

All I'm saying is, I hope this put to rest any complaints about how the Devs/Titans appear to be biased against Perdan.

Speaking of appearing to be unfair, how about letting Perdan move its capital right up to the front lines? That doesn't seem very fair. Perhaps it's completely justified by precedence, but "Appearances do matter", apparently.

What's next? Is Vix Tiramora going to move its capital to Partora? Is Highmarch going to move its capital to Akesh Temple?

I will also add, however, that I'm also greatly annoyed that the Bescanon portal was resolved pretty much immediately, before I even noticed it on the map. The Darfix portal, on the other hand, has been there for as long as I remember. We've had characters parked there for months to see if anything happens. We've had to adjust Westgard's military expeditions out of fear of what it might do. We've asked countless times for a resolution to that portal event. Why were we unworthy there? Just shut it down in a fizzle if you don't care to do anything about it.

Maybe the different islands are handled by different devs? Portals in East Island usually resolve very quickly. Portals in Dwilight take weeks to resolve, if they ever do resolve.

It's funny how nobody said anything when most of the Xavax leadership was getting taken out by magickal attacks on the regular, or when almost the entire population of Isadril just up and left, or when the militias in Krimml and Akesh Temple switched places...

Very funny indeed.
