BM General Discussion / Re: 1 Ruler Per account
« on: March 13, 2019, 08:15:01 PM »
Can we put the start of this?
A character was deleted yesterday and the player gave this reason:

Steon Le Bras has deleted the character Avielour. The reason for leaving was: There may be some person having fun, but I do not know who.Maybe the general who does all the things?

Some people started to give their thoughts about the matter and we ended up discussing this one ruler per family thing (which, I am totally against).

I believe that, having a lot of players, it is wise and fair to not hold too many positions but, as we are now, sometimes we don't have much option.

It would be lovely to have all what was said posted here and so I will copy what I've said.

We gave space to new players in one of the realms I play and the result was not the expected. It take some time to new players to understand how unique is BM. What applies to other games does not aplly in here. I can tell this.
First ime I was at IRC, coming from another game, I've called Tim "Queen Anaris" and I was told that BM separate IC and OOC so well that we even have this option to message people ooc and this is only one detail that make this game so good.

As K Monks said, if you doesn't like the game, you just leave, quietly. You don't need to make drama. If you want to be a ruler, fight for the position, as you would do in RL. Show you are a leader and you can lead the team to something good. Many of us are in Taselak because we believe Erdogan will lead us so I think its just not fair to blame him.

As for the one ruler per family thing, I believe that if we were back to a bigger player base this will happen automatically. It doens't need to be a rule. If we have some players with many positions now is because we don't have enough players wanting the job.

Thing is, some players put more effort in the game than others and it is because of them that the game still exist.

Eleanor (Dubhaine) should be a example for us on all this. She holds the banker position in some realms just because she is the best banker EVER.
I could never do this job as good as she does.

By the way, I love the bizarre dance after the tournament :)

The error was after trying to send a message to "all at the tournament" at the colonies.
Apparently is fixed already and so is the bug at bugtracker.
I don't think it is worth it to open a bug repport now.

Where can we report bugtrackers bugs?

I have a bug IC but can't report it at bugtracker. it says "APPLICATION WARNING #2702: Your session has become invalidated."

I will paste here the error IC, trying to send a message to all at tournament, at colonies, assassins.
Can someone please move this post to the right place?

Error during database query
Please report the following error to the bugtracker, together with a short statement on when it occurred, especially on which page or action:

I tried to play evil characters once but I was too good for that. Unfortunate.

I was about to say: Call Zakky :)

Perhaps I'll start with getting to know who owns the FB/Twitter accounts (again, I think Vita) and linking them on the main page of BM. That and putting in a new announcement to join & share!

Tom alone is the owner of those accounts. At Facebook we have a group that can be usefull for spreading the game.

Quick question.

Luarin at Dwillight is a courtier and unable to change unit to police force.
Mattias at Beluaterra is also a courtier but he can change it.
Which one is right? Is there any bug that I need to report?

I started first, in 2006, invited by Rian Voogt that I met at Renaissance Kingdoms.
I started at Taselak I think in the middle of a war and was too much for me. RK was too consuming.
Came back at 2009, invited by Tali, Sacha and Song, time when Asena and Pian-en-Luries were so active, and funny, and interesting that I could not stop playing.

Now life is so busy and difficult that I can barely log in twice a day, what cause my chars at BT to be arrested a lot. But I still love BM and don't want to stop to play.

BM General Discussion / Re: What's wrong with this game.

There is absolutely no reason that a character should ever be immutable, unless they've become a god-figure, and last I checked, that's happened once, on War Island.

This sound interesting. Can you tell us this story?

AA can join Thal, Jaune. :)

I thought I would not have any surprises at BM but this yelling at the Netherworld prison is funny. Never saw a prison so crowded

If you are ever involved in any way with a real-life harassment case, do not under ANY circumstances, EVER suggest to the person complaining that  "you might just be being a bit too sensitive or too thin skinned"

Ever. Even if you don't understand why not, and 100% disagree with me, take my advice. NEVER say that.

In the meantime, I'd like to hear other people give opinions.

Can't agree more. Who decides whether what happened is offensive is the victim, not the offender. Always.

This question is never easy to deal with but I believe we have good solutions at BM.

Thanks Tim for fixing the refresh of "tireness" for advies.
It was not nice to need to click somewhere to see how much tireness were left after resting.

BM General Discussion / Re: Character limit changes
« on: October 30, 2015, 06:10:17 PM »
First I was sad, somethings would change and I did not like it. Now I can see a chance to a renewal from and to everyone.
We can use this to have more fun instead of complaining here. Just need a little bit of creativity.

I suggest to make plans and to start changing the rps. We don't have to stay tied to our chars story. In fact, this is the biggest difference from rp and RL.

Count on me devs. I will do whatever I can to have fun, and to bring people to have fun with me.

I see the new limits as a chance for everyone to change their characters a bit, and to think on good rps, to move all second chars somewhere else. It would be a great move.
