Prepare for, amongst others, the invasion of GIANT FROGS!

I think Gummie gave up his live at a Daimon Portal somewhere around Riombara. Have no clue what invasion that was.

BM General Discussion / Re: Realm run by guilds
« on: December 15, 2015, 10:31:12 AM »
I have to agree with JDodger here.

The most quiet realms, in my experience, are the ones that have:
  • Many guilds: People communicate in the guild and not realm wide, so excluding those not in the guild. Within the guild self, you can communicate within elders, within full members,.. again dividing communication
  • Many message groups: The typical war councils, advisory councils,.. tend to bring much communication and discussions to those specific council. Those people in those message groups do not know how a new players experiences your realm. You can have the idea that the realm is quite active because there are a lot of heated arguements, while in fact a new player does not get any of these letters at all..

So leading a realm by using guilds wouldn't be my top choice.

Development / Re: Mentoring system
« on: December 15, 2015, 10:21:51 AM »
To be honest, I liked the old mentor system. But I have to agree that you needed to be in luck and have a good mentor, of course.

I'm all for reviving this, with some possible tweaks of course. But I understand this will not be a priority 1 for now. I'm just not a fan of such OOC mentoring forum. We already have ingame help of other chars, regular forum, wiki, IRC,.. Information is already everywhere and so hard to find for new players. But it does mean faster responses when you pose a question of course..

Anyway, I liked the ingame interaction between mentor and new character. You can make it as much IC or OOC as you like imho.

Helpline / Re: What is exact use of shrines?
« on: December 15, 2015, 09:50:08 AM »
Wow this topic is very helpful if you did not fully grasp the essence of temples, shrines and followers and how it all interacts. So thanks to Tomislav for the question and thanks Vita and Indirik for the responses.

I do think the wording about what Shrines are, in game, could be updated to better explain what it actually does. I agree with Tomislav that it ain't clear, and that's maybe why (as Indirk pointed out) many have that 'I'll plant all this infrastructure here and never return'-attitude.

Also, I think this would be a great addition to some sort of FAQ around the Priest game on the Wiki. Maybe some day...

In my time as vice marshal, I must say that I barely used the % to monitor anything. Basically because, like jdodger said, it seemed abstract. Without really knowing how it behaves, it's difficult to act upon it.

Or it's just me.

Beluaterra / Re: Invasion?

I guess the Frogs saw their chance, finally, to start the invasion!

Run for King, Fingolfin, Run! ;D

Well I think it's quite clear that nothing is going to change.

I'd just like to add my 2 cents and say that I like the Undead, Monsters and Daimon invasions. They've been a great chunk of fun in the past. There is much RP based on these creatures which would totally be lost if we suddenly rename them.

But I do think the best of Nellamkuyzhil for trying to spice things up and come with new ideas. Sometimes they will be met with criticism and a simple NO, perhaps sometimes something good comes out of these proposals, why not?

On a sidenote and totally off topic: Funny how our Honourable King Tom seems to have 0 Reputation power  :P  :D

Feature Requests / Re: Realm Wide Duel announcements
« on: December 06, 2015, 11:46:04 AM »
I tend to like this feature.

Additions/questions:
- I'm not really sure how duels are reported now. But if realm-wide messages are too big of a think (regarding spam), maybe make it vicinity wide only?
- I was thinking to propose to implement the same for training matches, but that would maybe beat the purpose of the training match, which would probably happen behind closed doors.

Feature Requests / Reminder for unaccepted training matches
« on: December 04, 2015, 06:35:16 PM »
Title: Reminder for unaccepted training matches
Summary: At this moment, training matches invitations are just messages between the regular messages. There is a link to answer the training match. (Goes to TrainingMatch.php where you can accept or deny)
Problem is that there isn't a reminder/seperate page to remind you of unanswered training matches. Proposal is to create a reminder just like the one of Referendums (in the green box) until you've answered the challenge. (A different solution may work as well)

Benefits: It would solve the obvious pain in the ass to go back searching your messages for training matches. People tend to forget or just don't feel like searching for it.
Possible Downsides or Exploits: I was told implementing this (dev-wise) could prove more difficult than first anticipated (talked to Tim). That's the only one I see here.

Don't hold back on feedback you guys!

Development / Region leaving realm
« on: October 13, 2015, 11:46:53 PM »
Not sure this was posted anywhere else already.

Quote
Region Leaves Realm   (1 hour, 42 minutes ago)
message to all nobles of Vix Tiramora
Ares Flame has changed the allegiance of Montauban to the duchy of the Golden City, a part of the realm of Perdan. He and his knights and their units have left your realm.
[protest options]

1. I was quite sure there used to be a list of nobles actually leaving the realm..in a seperate message saying 'Nobles leaving the realm' Montauban had 2 knights and nowhere did we get a realm wide message saying who actually left the realm with Ares.

2. The protest options. I read it somewhere else on here that the protest system was supposed to be expanded or work in a different way or something. But it actually serves no purpose that we have the option to protest here,.. since you can only protest council members. I would need to reference to another topic (which I would need to look up) where it was suggested to actually expand the protest functionality, or just remove the options on various messages.

Thoughts and ideas?

Interesting idea.

You may want to post it under the 'Future request' domain:

BattleMaster Forum » BattleMaster » Development » Feature Requests

Be sure to read the 'How to..' first, to give your Future request the correct lay out & info.
