Helpline / Re: Optimal character skills training methodology
« on: September 19, 2015, 09:13:53 PM »
Good to know thanks.

EDIT: I think there's a lower chance of gaining skill when you have a higher skill level. Tybilt has 60 or 65% swordsmanship now and it's mostly been expensive failures to increase it. Even when I used the full 6 hours twice today. It's a expensive and disappointing, but seems pretty realistic.

Well I always thought the higher you get, the lower your chances.. But that's just me thinking out loud.

In my experience, I never use multiple 3/4 hour windows. Always full hours.

I am not disliking this idea of seperate message groups for ONLY aspirants and ONLY full members (excluding elders).

However, in light of Elders being able to control what their nobles are talking about, this could be a pain in the ass. Not sure we want that. Currently it could be made so that Elders ALWAYS get ALL letters.

Helpline / Re: Region Allegiance Change Error?

Please make a bug report with all the needed info (days in realm, days in duchy, how long realm exists,...) if it's been 29 days since you were appointed and still can not change allegiance.

Vita actually changed some code on that late July.

Apparently, Wiki Semantics was not yet installed after the crash a few weeks back. Maybe this one is related. Tom should reinstall it.

Makes me wonder why it says that of being in the realm for 2 weeks..

You have to be in the Duchy for more than 14 days.

You were probably not a knight in that Duchy before you were appointed Lord?

Very true. So message to Noldorin: join the Golden Feather, you King of Kings, Beard of Beards!

Anyway, we'll keep trying!

I agree this one should get new attention, and I fully support it.

I think it would be a great addition to how things currently work.

Thumbs up!  ;)

I know this is an old post but a very good point indeed.

Religions do not seem to be a very popular thing on BT, because most of the players go there for war, I assume.

As Noldorin stated above, The Order of The Golden Feather was quite active back in the days, being spread almost over all of Thalmarkin and maybe even some in OG/AA. It collapsed though, due to no elder positions being ran by priests anymore.

Anyway, it got resurrected more recently, by a few people in Thalmarkin including myself. I have been running it but I sense it is quite hard to 'sell' it to the other nobles. It takes time and gets quite boring for most people. (Could of course also have to do with its content). Also you need a lot of imagination to keep things alive and get things going, which I currently lack abit I guess. And I doubt there are many people wishing to actively play priest characters on BT with all the fun going on right now.

Not sure if we intend to keep this post alive, but guess what..

Spearhold has given up!

Gotland has been founded!

Victory for Thalmarkin!

Who's next?

(...)

As above, we encourage the frequency of battles. Thus, as a corollary to that, smaller realms tends to be encouraged. (...)

I must admit I joined the ESA for this and this reason only. From there, it got quite.. confusing. Suddenly my character is involved with all kinds of history, lots of names, words he can't even pronounce,.. and it is quite complex. Must say that as a 'layman' (is that even used well in this context?), it is quite difficult to be more interested in ESA except for the above.

Just my 2 cents obviously. I did not grow into it as much as any of you probably.

Atamara / Re: Are Things Actually Happening?
« on: July 31, 2015, 03:16:32 PM »
I dont know anything about the north, but the south is boring. Even the war we have is boring, with all the militia that both sides are using. I suppose that Strombran and Tara might be having fun, since they are both exploiting everyone's unwillingness to break the federation to make unstoppable looting runs through Caergoth and Suville.

;D Isn't Atamara known for being boring?  ;D

Welcome back.

I quit for a few years as well (unfortunately lost my account and thus all my characters).

If you choose the right realms, I assure you that you can find that spark!  ;) Good luck.

Same here.

Also, if we're talking about wiki errors..

None of the information boxes seem to work anymore

Character information box: http://wiki.battlemaster.org/wiki/Dacara_Family (to the right)

Region information box: http://wiki.battlemaster.org/wiki/Winser (to the right)
