Clearly they're after our precious snow! Overlord must've given up his dreams of conquest and plans to retire on the Netherworld's very first ski slopes.

I'm not sure...  while it's been mostly manageable in my corner of the woods - though it indeed requires constant patrolling to stay manageable - there are starting to form big rogue patches which will breed monsters and undead at an accelerated rate. We may see big hordes emerge from there that could shake realms that have been spared the worst so far.
Food is also becoming more and more of a problem.

This Invasion is really not that bad compared to the other ones. Just be happy there's no intelligent being directing those hordes. But like people said, enjoy the challenge. This whole ordeal is supposed to be hard, it is about survival and shaking things up.

Mrh?

There were spontaneous summoning scroll castings all around the continent thanks to the scroll/invasion mechanic.

Well, there's a record like that on the wiki of other invasions. I don't see why there shouldn't be of this one.

You can maybe use message groups for factions in stead. Guilds are a terrible hassle and if you can avoid them you should.

Prepare for, amongst others, the invasion of GIANT FROGS!

I think Gummie gave up his live at a Daimon Portal somewhere around Riombara. Have no clue what invasion that was.

Probably the fourth. When you could sacrifice yourself in the temples of the Light. And then your lifeforce or something could be used to zap thousands of monsters or undead and clear whole regions. :)

Good old Giant Frogs are back!

Not sure if this'll be a full-scale invasion but it sure is interesting.

Vita's summary sums it up pretty well. Fingolfin is revered by his realm as it is their belief that he, with themselves on his side, saved humanity in the last invasion and is the only one who stands between the entirety of humanity and infinite darkness in the imminent next Invasion.

Nasty Thalmarkin and their allies. Hypocrites all! Claim to be working against invaders and for humans. Yet they freely use large numbers of summoning scrolls to summon monsters and undead against their enemies. I hear they have official government appointees to research and use magic summoning scrolls to best effect against realms that won't bow to their will.

Good thing you reminded me of that again... It's been sorta dormant since we lost the last Grand Wizard and a whole bunch of advies. But we've gotten plenty new advies later, time to revive it. :)
The purpose is gathering and using non-summoning scrolls however.

Also, Thalmarkin has not once used summoning scrolls en masse in this war. There've been incidents with nobles using them, naturally, but it's never been condoned or encouraged. I do know of instances they were strategically used by allies however and I think the current ruler of Spearhold has some dark cult around them. But well, I'm just happy they recognize the King of Kings already. ;) Which is why I have deliberately not informed Fingolfin of those instances, nor pushed the fact that Southern realms are using scrolls as well.

Come on! You get there and say "hey give me half your realm or i'll fight for your enemy" to one of the oldest nobles, founder of the realm, and expect a good welcome?

Glad to see fun times in Nothoi. Our own new arrivals have stirred some up some dust as well (though not such great clouds) and I like it. :)

Thalmarkin has hardly opposed Ar Agyr's might. ;)

I'm guessing you can have fun in pretty much every realm if you commit your character. Not all realms have as much nobles and of course in those smaller realms things are not as vibrant as in the bigger ones but they need other committed characters all the more.

Right now this is the situation:
Thalmarkin, Ar Agyr, Old Grehk, Spearhold and Gotland are fighting on the side of the King of Kings.
Nothoi and Caelum are actively opposing those realms. The Vales just had a little civil war going which the Ivory Vale has won. They were both opposing the King of Kings though. Riombara have lowered their relation with the Ivory Vale as a result. Riombara of course also opposes the King of Kings but have not been seen on a battlefield for months, in stead providing financial aid afaik.
Fronen has surrendered to the King of Kings but are not participating in the war.
The main fronts are Caelum and Spearhold, which also got a bit of an independent war going on and Old Grehk and Nothoi.

I was around and I was one of the people moaning. :P
Or sympathyzing with the moaners anyway.

But well, doing something is better than doing nothing. I'm more looking forward to code changes coming at us though. :)

Well, if you say that the vast majority of 2nd characters are drones, drones being silent non-entities, then you're right. In my experience they're mostly less developed or more silent but still participate and it's a bit of a stretch to blame the relative silence in realms on those nobles, because without them, there'd be even less going on.

Then again, it wouldn't be the first time that my experience is a bad indicator of the status of the game.
