Feature Requests / Re: New Dynamic Map Layer Idea
« on: February 03, 2012, 05:45:52 PM »
Right, I saw that you posted that issue earlier, and meant to include the idea that Indirik had about the colours/shapes.  Will that also be too difficult?  I see now that you never said that would work.  Bankers have already been relegated to a coordination position, I just figured giving them as much information as possible would allow them to coordinate better.

A similar map for bankers to see all trades possible for the entire realm would be good.  Basically all this should be is the offers inside the realm plus the offers that are available to each of the border regions.

I would say it would be nice for some of the longer but still less than 16 hour trips.  I would say for any trip over 10 hours, so long as you have half the time plus five hours in your time pool.  So for a ten hour trip it makes no difference (5+10/2=10) but the 16 hour trip would allow you three hours (5+16/2=13).  Different numbers could be used for the minimum length, but I think the idea should be a decent compromise. I would not want adventurers to save one hour and be able to make a 16 hour trip.

Development / Re: New Trade System Feedback

I am not sure whether this was supposed to be fixed or whether it was just aknowledged, but any building construction in Fronepu (Beluaterra) is still outrageously expensive 20k gold+.
Also, I know you need a marketplace to set up a trade, is there any exeption while in your own region if there is no marketplace?  I would like to see that exeption in place if it is not already.

Right now as Duke and Banker, I am able to see the food in the duchy and realm, which is great!
I cannot create any offers for the city though.  I have a different lord who is outside the realm and can understand why he cannot set up offers, but within the realm while not traveling should work, no?
EDIT:
Never mind. I am an idiot.  Didn't realize I could scroll down on the marketplace page.
So far so good!

I guess my request would then be that the banker have access to it despite not being a trader or in the region.

Bankers can manipulate the books in regions and steal gold (or recover gold that would otherwise be lost).  I would like to see a similar thing in place with food.
Just manipulate the books at the granary office and have x food brought to y region.  Make it cost z gold for a bribe.
Perhaps this should have been mentioned before the big trading overhaul.  Or maybe it will be useless by the time the overhaul takes effect.

I would agree that having a ranged rogue would add something nice, doesn't need to be bandits.  Come up with some other fantasy character that would have ranged weapons.

Sorry, wrong word, I meant fame.

I would say losing half the honour and prestige of each of your characters as well as half the honour of your family would keep people from doing it too often, and it would likely only be used by new people.

Feature Requests / Adventurers and Infiltrators
« on: January 23, 2012, 02:54:23 PM »
It seems to me that Infiltrators do not really fit into the game as well as they could.  They are constantly in trouble trying to practice their art while at peace.  And when they are captured by an enemy, they are seldom included in any prisoner exchange agreement (in my experience).  And if we look at the RP side of the game, or perhaps the history which it is based on.  Nobles would not be the ones going about with poison daggers in their cloaks.  They would hire someone.  This is even more evident when we consider that my characters who have been around for a long time, can't even become infiltrators because they are too well known, the very goal in the life of a Noble.

I believe the adventurers would fit well into this role.  They are not usually noticed by most people.  They get very good at swordplay.  They are not nobles.   And nobody cares if they are killed/tortured/beaten.  The roles seem to fit together very well.

I am not certain how to implement this, but perhaps as an adventurer improves his/her skills, more and more infiltrator abilities would become available to him/her.

Feature Requests / Re: "Destructible" Messages
« on: January 20, 2012, 05:53:41 PM »
I did not read all the messages so someone may have mentioned this; I would think that one way of doing this would be to make the threat in a role play message.  There is generally the understanding that other people who do not have characters who could legitimately be understood to be present during the event know nothing about it despite the fact that the RP is sent to the entire realm.  Let's remember this is a game, we do not need methods of destroying messages for security reasons.

Feature Requests / Re: Buildings that inspire loyalty to the realm
« on: January 01, 2012, 09:52:58 PM »
I am not sure how these buildings/statues would be different than a family investment.  The investment helps production is that used by power gamers?  Have the statue help for the short term as investments do, and then after wards you have a RP statue to deal with.

Feature Requests / Re: Regional financial changes
« on: September 02, 2011, 02:41:19 PM »
Why would this not be desirable?  I am certain that border regions in countries/empires did not produce enough gold to man the militia defending them.  That gold came from elsewhere, why should we not do the same here?  If a wealthy duke wants to keep the fighting away from his/her city, why not pay for militia to be placed in the poor region which would block access?

Once the automatic caravans get working I think this issue will be moot.
