You can't gain provisions right now.  The only time you can gain provisions is when regions provide a surplus.  In winter there is no harvest.  You can buy food, but you can't buy provisions.

One thing about wars in Winter, for the time being anyway, is that you can only be in starving regions for 5 days.  At that point, you have to head to a region that will not starve.  And remain there until winter is over. 
When will the "Buy Provisions" be set up?

The y and z will be the same regardless how days are divided.

I suppose my point is, most of the time I split up my game "days" according to turn changes (I honestly don't pay much attention to when it is sunset or sunrise).  Would it not make more sense to split it according to turns?

What is the time division for a "day."  I am sure it is very logical for exactly one timezone, but less so for the rest.
Why is it not set with the turn changes?

You would then have to put in place something to prevent lords from kicking knights out of an estate that they want to leave empty.
accidentally.
I have had my mouse slip and kicked one of my knights.  Some kind of double check would be nice.  I suppose that it should be placed in a feature request.

Why would it be sent to the family?  The player auto-paused, that usually means the player has been gone for a while.

It will change the vulnerability of many areas.  Small islands will become harder to hit and larger islands with few old sea routes will lose their choke points.

Right now - none. It will get a function later when patrolling sea zones gets implemented. You will need navies for that, and the shipyard builds navies.
Any idea on how they will work?  Will we need a shipyard on all coastal regions?  Or do we just need to have a shipyard in a region bordering each sea zone?  What about regions bordering multiple sea zones?

I assume it would be put into the income for the region rather than straight into the pockets of the lords.  But still it has the same effect.

Ok.  Good.  I was just looking at the costs of embarking and thinking that no one would ever use it except island realms who would become bankrupt very quickly.
