BM General Discussion / Lemon Fame 3

It is a tradition in BattleMaster for family fame points to remain unknown until successfully guessed by players. A few months of Goodies are given as a reward.

In 2004, a contest, LemonFame, was held to guess fame points. In 2006, Lemon Fame 2 was held. Inspired by the recent successful guess by Lefanis, I think it's long overdue to have Lemon Fame 3 within this thread.

There is also a Fame Box, which holds a highly-accurate player-built template system for family pages on the wiki.

  • Heraldry is now displayed next to message signature
  • Fix rebellions not being processed
  • Prevent troops from following commander to tournament
  • Statue and Monument costs have been halved
  • Notifications when selling scrolls always appear
  • Alignment of Character Details page is improved when character description is blank
  • Auto da fe fixed
  • Increase minimum distance from capital before penalties
  • Fix message bugs when scrolls used on a character
  • Leaving messages at temple for elders prevented from becoming ghost messages
  • Fix various other message system bugs

Announcements / Adventurers No Longer Using Scrolls

Adventurers have been blocked from using scrolls for the foreseeable future due to players abusively using adventurers as weapons of war scroll-bombs. They may be restored in the future when significant changes are made to their operation, but that is not a priority in light of the recently posted development roadmap.

  • Numerous message system bugfixes (still in-progress)
  • All messages can now be marked for later
  • Allow dukes to abandon a region of their duchy to rogues
  • Allow rulers to abandon a region of their realm to rogues
  • Prevent realms conquering rogue regions if their density is lower than or equal to 1.5 (to be gradually increased over time)
  • Realms below or equal to 1.5 density will convert enemy regions to rogue when TOing them; a red warning text explaining this
  • Realms below or equal to 3.0 density have an orange warning text warning about low density and eventual limits

For newer players' awareness, Keplerstan and Evilstani are often used as example realm names in BattleMaster, much like cryptography has Bob and Alice.

Mountain goats led to a large-scale rescue effort in Gallatin County, Montana on Sunday.

The Gallatin County Sheriff's office said a family of three from Spokane was hiking on the Bridger Ridge Trail Sunday morning when they stopped to photograph some mountain goats. The goats knocked some rocks loose and sent a bowling ball sized rock rolling into a woman's leg. Sheriffs say the rock caused an "injury and severe laceration." The family called 9-1-1 for help.

Since it was such steep terrain, the woman was flown off the trail, then transported by ambulance to Bozeman Health Deaconess Hospital. The rest of the party was taken out by ATV.

Sheriff Brian Gootkin said the group was well prepared for the elements with food, water and head lamps. He said, "Mostly, we respond to good people doing good things who have a bad day. I don't know how you prepare for goat assassins, but I'm glad we could help these folks out."

There's only a limited number of charges thus far. So, in the interests of gathering more ideas for heraldric charges, what else should exists?

Dragons, elephants, goats, and seahorses are my immediate suggestions.

EDIT: I now realize there is a dragon on the other beasts page, that I overlooked.

The following changes have gone live at some point since the previous Recent Changes announcement in late July.
  • Refilling beer cost made variable per day of week
  • Extra taxes roll over to next week if no ruler or banker, rather than disappear
  • Provide judges a Daily Dungeon Report of prisoners
  • Display full list of common items missing when attempting scroll creation
  • Sortable table of family history
  • Monster strength on testing islands affected by relative size of contiguous rogue region clumps
  • Smart monsters spawned in largest contiguous rogue region clump
  • Add ruler, judge, and banker as able to found new armies
  • Draft Recruits table replaced with sortable table
  • Reorder table columns across the game to consistently use weapons, armour, training, range order
  • Prevent arresting priest if they are judge of your own realm
  • Allows lords to deposit gold into treasuries of guildhouses and temples in their region
  • Scroll to top link provided when reading messages
  • Increased upper price limit on marketplace offers to from 50 gold to 250 gold
  • Inform adventurers when too wounded to use bandages
  • Separate advies characters into a separate table, with an explanatory note on adventurer roleplay, upon the family page
  • Provide a volunteering information page and link from account page
  • Update semantic wiki to fetch capital info from game, and to use actual regional population not max regional population
  • Set lordless region tax rates to a default 10%
  • Add a rare chance for BT lords to discover a non-summoning scroll
  • Remove government members, dukes, and lords after 5 days spent imprisoned
  • Limit chance of high-quality (>80) recruitment centers when there are already some in the realm
  • Fix peasant massacre by small unit looting bug, and other looting fixes
  • Add the ability to dissolve a duchy that is entirely lordless and gift its regions to other duchies
  • Many behind the scenes improvements
  • Many, many more bugs fixed by Wimpie from Bugtracker

So its time to move beyond the New Beginnings thread...I hereby commission the Ikalak thread.

And my starting roleplay:

Seeing the First Captain striding through the streets, Nelsatio led a band of grubby, but sharply-dressed towards Earandil and knelt a knee. The men followed their troopleader in kneeling, as Nelsatio declared to the First Captain, "Father, I gathered your seamen as soon as I heard of your election!"

Upon Nelsatio's shoulder perched a starling, Sinatra, "Very dirty! Very dirty!"

Nelsatio quickly added, "We will bathe! We will! But excited I was at serving you, Father Captain! Coffeehouses much abrew with talk of disobedience in Sandalak and Taselak!"

Sinatra the Starling again spoke, "Naughty Sandals! Naughty Tassels!"

Nelsatio ignored the bird as he continued proclaiming, "We wish to serve our Captain most! Where will Father send us his seamen?"

Sinatra sung, "I'm gonna live till I die!"

Nelsatio finally rebuked the starling, "Will you ever not have the last word?"

Sinatra found himself stuffed into satchel before he could reply.
