Kyomi giggled at his toast, how unlikely she found it to be. Especially given how frequently one of these mortals seemed to fail what were simple tests.

"To sentiments and ideals." She offered instead, taking a drink of her wine... did they just give her grape juice? Then again, could she even get drunk? Did this have alcohol content? Would she notice it, if it did?

A simple drink was spawning too many questions, and she stared ponderingly at her drink for several seconds too long, before putting it back down on the table. There were other things on this table though, things she could eat. Could she make a sandwich with what was here? Did this society have cheescake yet? She surveyed the offerings seeking answers, while managing to dedicate some attention to anyone who may speak up.

Pawl was already sitting and looking at the food on the table, while one of his servants was pouring him wine in his cup.
"Kyomi, Sir Kyryn Kye, please, let us start our feast! But before that, let us first toast!"

Pawl rose from his chair, at the top of the table, raised his cup of wine to his guests and said: "A toast to Peace and Harmony!"

Despite his years as a courtier and diplomat, Kyryn was uncertain who was supposed to eat first in this situation. Yes, yes, the Dragon King was indeed the host, but the Daimoness was an honored guest and Kyryn's position had been changed to "guest-of-guest." Thus, despite being a servant of the Dragon Crown, Kyryn was technically now a part of the Zuma Envoy's "party," meaning that when she ate, he ate.Suffices to say that he couldn't very well nudge either of them...Or could he?..."Lady Kyomi," he began his attempt. Would you care to try the turduckentapus? It's a rare human specialty that scares away the weak, imbues the strong, and provides a surprising texture pallet..."

At Pawls acceptance Kyomi finally released Kyryn, and started her walk over to the table. Upon arriving at a chair that she was fairly certain wasn't Pawl's--that would just be rude, after all--she looked at it for a couple seconds, debating the best way to get her child-sized body in the adult-sized chair. After the seconds were up she turned around and hopped on to it, bending the structure of it a little to give her a better vantage point over the food.

And food there was. Kyomi had learned long ago, not to assume what food was what though. That was a mistake one only makes once.

"So, what's on the menu, Pawl?" She asked with a touch of cheer.

Eh, nicknames and such aren't self given, and follow anyone to give themselves whatever they please would serve to cheapen it. How many "the Greats" or what have you, do we want running around?

I had the same reaction. I'm still kicking it around, but so far I don't see a reasonable way to make this a feature besides making it a power of one our all of the ruling council, jointly. Like a bestowed title that stays with the character even if they leave the realm and would appear, as in the OP, in quotations.

That being said, I'm still waiting on religion and guild titles being recognized in messages outside of said religion or guild, so maybe that one first...

Pawl stood tall, while listening to Kyomi's reply. Though she looked and sounded like a very weird and young little girl, the daemoness certainly had a very sure tone. Pawl wasn't used to being too often openly confronted nor refused, especially by anyone looking and sounding like a child, however he was well-known for being both a wise man and a calm one, always willing to listen to what others had to say.

After hearing Kyomi's request to also have Sir Kyryn Kye accompany them for dinner, Pawl then calmly replied, with a smile on his face:

"By all means then, if Sir Kyryn Kye is beneficial to your investigation, especially as he also proved a good and loyal subject, let us welcome him alongside us. To dinner then." And he started walking towards the very large and long table, which was already prepared by his servants, with both Kyomi and Sir Kyryn Kye starting to slowly walk in the same direction.

Roleplay from Kyryn Kye JeVondair Message sent to everyone in Port Raviel (11 recipients) - 46 minutes ago
Kyryn had already bowed in acknowledgement of the Dragon King's dismissal was already in the process of turning to leave them to their privacy, but jerked to a halt when Kyomi declared...no...demanded he should stay. Of course, that was not the reason for his arrested motion. The daimoness hadn't released his hand, and despite being triple, if not quadruped her current size, the diminutive daimoness hadn't moved at all. He might have had better luck tugging the hand of a marble statue, and he was sure his less-than-graceful recovery might have been humorous from any perspective other than that of one Kyryn Kye JeVondair.

While this was far from Kyryn's first time in the palace, it was his first time meeting Pawl Paxwax. He'd been surprised when the monarch rose from his throne and crossed the distance to greet them directly as it was something of a breech of protocol, but  all Kyryn could do was meet his lieges gaze and shrug. Dictating to Kings and Daimons may not have been above his pedigree, but it was far, far above his pay range, and with that simple human gesture he informed the King that he was welcome to argue with the daimoness if he dared. Kyryn certainly wasn't about to.

"I'd be delighted" he said deferentially, knowing now that the only way out was through.

The servants Kyryn had noted earlier had already responded to the Dragon King's intent, arranging the feast behind his back between the trio and the throne. Delights beyond what Kyryn could count at a glance festooned the table. Swan, duck, goose, chicken, lobster tails, fresh salmon, shellfish, Wyvern eggs arranged in a clutch beneath the wings of a deep-fried mother wyvern, an entire roast pig, and was that a turduckentapus? Then there proverbial mountain of cakes curiously juxtaposed next to fruits and vegetables of every description, though the infamous bloodmoon fruit was absent. or rather, was present only in wine form. Without orders, Kyryn's stomach growled. He hadn't had time to eat since Paisly, and that was more hours passed then he cared to recall. And this...feast was beyond anything he could afford as a meager knight of the realm.

Kyryn hadn't ended up here by his own choice, but it wasn't in his nature to pass up a good meal, no matter the circumstances.

"After you, Your Majesty, Lady Kyomi." he deferred.

After more walking than Kyomi would have preferred--perhaps it was the shorter legs--they finally arrived at the throne room. Kyryn Kye JeVondair's announcement of her arrival, for all it's decorum, went mostly ignored by the daimoness, the urge for her to step forward as well. Like the palace, it wasn't one of those things she really cared for.

"Greetings Kyomi and welcome to D'Hara and to Port Raviel! Greetings! I am happy to finally see you once again!" Pawl Paxwax said, with a strong confident voice, all while looking Kyomi straight into the eyes. Was he challenging him? Wait... were they secretly lovers, too? No, that didn't seem likely, though Kyomi did admit that she hadn't seem them argue yet. That was, in her experience, the best time to get to know someone: when they're arguing, with you or someone else.

"And welcome back Sir Kyryn Kye. Thank you for being kind enough to escort Kyomi through Port Raviel. This is certainly appreciated, by both myself and Kyomi, I am sure." Pawl continued, switching his gaze over to Kyomi, who had yet to let go of Kyryn Kye JeVondair's hand.

"Kyomi," he spoke, finally actually to the petite daimoness, "I am sure you must be tired, thirsty and hungry. Please join me for dinner, as my servants have prepared quite a feast for us. Let us eat and drink and talk some more, so that we can get to know each other better. After all, we didn't really had the occasion of doing that well enough back when I was visiting your people in Nightmarch."

The petite daimoness, cocked her head to the side a bit, thinking about what he said, and the room they were in, and who all was there. Pawl seemed to think himself equal with her, while superior to Kyryn, if she had followed what was being said properly. Kyryn, on the other hand, seemed to think himself inferior to them both.

"Hmm," she intoned, thinking for several more seconds after the sound left her.

"Kyryn Kye JeVondair shall join us." Kyomi declared with the voice of a six year old girl trying to sound serious, stepping forward and pulling Kyryn along with her, "Certainly, the hospitality of D'Hara could accomodate another guest at the table, for his presence would be beneficial to my investigation."

Roleplay from Pawl Paxwax Message sent to all nobles in Port Raviel (8 recipients) - 7 hours, 21 minutes ago
Pawl was waiting in his Dragon Throne Room, overlooking the sea cliffs that harbored the port. He was standing tall, looking down from his tower and analyzing the city's life.
He could tell that the people were louder today than usual, while at the same time some streets and areas of the port which were normally very vibrant were relatively quiet and empty today....as if people left them like that on purpose. Seeing this was making Pawl happy...knowing that the D'Harans were following his request, to try and avoid contact with the Zuma daemon, as it may have a potentially unwanted effect on them.

Suddenly one of his scouts quickly entered the room and notified the arrival of the Zuma daemon....warning Pawl that, surprisingly, she has changed form from the 3 meter monster it was to a small young lady, almost cute to see. Pawl nodded to the scout, as he understood the report and then waved his hand so that he could be left alone, so the scout quickly ran away just as he entered.

Not much longer after that, knocking was heard at the room doors, as his servants announced the arrival of guests. Pawl loudly told them to let them in.
So the very large and richly decorated elegant doors of the Dragon Throne room opened and his servants wanted to announce the arrival of 2 persons...Sir Kyryn Kye and a young....lady? However their voices stumbled somehow, as if something had made them swallow their tongues. Luckily enough though, Sir Kyryn Kye took initiative and made the proper formal introductions. So the guests started entering the Throne Room.

The Dragon King's personal guards, the best and bravest soldiers anyone could find on Dwilight, stood ready for anything, covering the entrance of the room, its every corners and of course also closely guarding the Dragon King's throne and the Dragon King himself. Their simple yet elegant armors, made of the strongest and yet most flexible metal available, all bearing the coat of arms of the Paxwax family, shined bright in the Sun's glowing sunset light which was filling the room through the very large, floor-to-ceiling windows, thus creating an impressive atmosphere.
They were all very brave men, which were all expecting a frightening 3 meters tall daemon. However, they weren't ready to see such a small creature, especially one resembling a young lady, so this confused them a bit, though certainly not enough to stop them from being on guard in case they had to intervene in any way to protect their Dragon King.

As Sir Kyryn Kye was finishing the announcement, Pawl approached his quests, while focusing his eyes on the Zuma daemon, to some extent being surprised while at the same time smiling to the young lady.

"Greetings Kyomi and welcome to D'Hara and to Port Raviel! Greetings! I am happy to finally see you once again!" Pawl loudly said, with a strong confident voice, all while looking Kyomi straight into the eyes.
"And welcome back Sir Kyryn Kye. Thank you for being kind enough to escort Kyomi through Port Raviel. This is certainly appreciated, by both myself and Kyomi, I am sure." he continued, while turning his gaze to his own subject and smiling. The Dragon King was happy to know that Kyryn had provided his services to their guest, thus in this way also offering the daemon a first impression of D'Hara's well-known hospitality.

Then the Dragon King continued: "Kyomi, I am sure you must be tired, thirsty and hungry. Please join me for dinner, as my servants have prepared quite a feast for us. Let us eat and drink and talk some more, so that we can get to know each other better. After all, we didn't really had the occasion of doing that well enough back when I was visiting your people in Nightmarch."
So then Pawl, with a hand gesture, instructed his servants to prepare everything so that they can properly sit down at the table, while briefly exchanging eye contact with Sir Kyryn Kye, notifying his subject that he can now retreat, leaving room for undisturbed dialogue between himself and the Zuma emissary.

"Annoucning...um..." The Seneschal at the door floundered, but Kyryn lent his own voice to the rescue. "Announcing Her Eminence, Envoy Kyomi, Elucidator of-" he struggled with the unpronounceable name, "the Zuma." He finished somewhat smoothly. He'd made it all up of course. He had not had the time to instruct the daimoness in formal etiquette, much less inquire as to her titles! But he did the best he could. "She has arrived at the express invitation of his Royal Majesty Pawl, Dragon King of D'Hara, Duke of Raviel and Master of the Tomb Isles."

Kyryn's voice boomed with practiced confidence across the throne room. This, at least, was his element. And all he had to do was get through it without either of the most powerful beings in this little corner of the world deciding that they'd rather have his head than his services. All he had to do was get through this without either of them causing a major diplomatic incident and taking the blame out on one Kyryn Kye JeVondair. So, kyryn thought to himself, it falls to me to make sure she doesn't...mistake anything. I'm supposed to be her guide, after-all. i suppose that means social as well as geographical....

At that Kyryn bowed. As he did, he applied a slight pressure on Kyomi's hand indicating that she should step forward.

"Just a bit more, if you'll indulge me." Kyryn replied to his diminutive charge. If he was being honest, he had expected at least some form of greeting either from the Dragon King himself or one of the high nobility, but none came. Either his Majesty wanted  Kyomi's presence kept secret, or else everyone knew and were staying well-enough away. He assumed it was the latter, though his reasons for doing so were rooted less in logic and more in bitterness. When his father had ruled, the religion of Verdi Elementum, the faith of the elements, was the faith of the land. Lady Ellyn Coquard, who along with Aldrakar Renodin had adopted the Kye JeVondair twins as their wards to honor the memory of his father, had often told him of the industrious, independent, damn-all attitude of the Ravielan islanders. Thing's had changed since as Elementum waned and Astroism waxed in its place. Astroists, in Kyryn's decided opinion, were a flighty, capricious, superstitious bunch. In in that, he supposed, the emulated their vaunted "bloodstars" quite well. While he regarded Kyomi with a respectful, and, he wagered, healthy amount of fear, others like that crazed lout Sir Miralion had either prostrated themselves before her or fled in varying degrees of terror.

As the pair approached the great gates leading to the throne room, Kyryn regarded his charge. She did seem rather...nonchalant about the Dragon King's seat of power. She hadn't even asked about him other than to know where he could be found. Indeed, the daimoness asked surprisingly few questions at all for one who had professed a desire to learn and experience. She was an observant creature, astoundingly so, considering how effectively she'd altered herself. no doubt she was learnign quite a bit...and found it wanting. Then again, had he been the one visiting the Zuma, he might have put on similar airs, if only to seem confident. Still, she'd never once realesed his hand once she'd claimed it, perhaps castles and ceremony were less interesting to her than the people that comprised them? Or maybe she just didn't want him scurrying off like the others had ? That last thought was at least to kyryn anyway, surprisingly palatable to him...unless it's YOU she means to have for dinner, old chap! yet another thought intruded. Of course, who could guess at the mind of a daimon? Fortunately for the princely courtier's sanity, he did not have time to pry further as the doors to the throne were thrown open before him.

Much had changed in Dwilight over the many, many years since humans had settled the continent. The Throne Room, however, was not among them. It was placed in the part of the palace that overlooked the seacliffs that harbored the port. Dramatic, floor-to-ceiling windows at the far end behind the throne overlooked the crashing Sea of Silence. Trophies and banners of armies long forgotten lined the walls, as well as portraits of past rulers. To the side, a long table had been arranged, and piled high with various D'Haran delicacies, including the bloodmoon wine for which the Ravalian vineyards to the south were so widely famed. Cooks and servants scurried about in final preparations and Kyryn was pleased to see that the entire arrangement was meant to be lifted and moved to so that the feast might moved to the room's center with the King at its head at his whim right here instead of the long trek to the Great Hall.  A red carpet ran the length of the room leading to the Dragon Throne, a work of gold artistry that captured the snarling visages of its namesake in the armrests. it's legs resembled actual scaled, clawed appendages artfully inlaid with ivory and pearl. Their eyes flashed as blue as the Sapphire Deep from whose shores they'd likely been mined in the first place. And upon that seat sat the undisputed ruler of humanity's west-most kingdom on Dwilight.

"I...erm...of course, Lady Kylio." He eventual replied, before offering his hand once again. This time, Kyomi accepted, mostly as she thought it amusing. Something about a mortal leading a daimon around by the hand made her giggle. Though she was curious why she was being called 'Kylio'. Her name was Kyomi. Did he get confused somehwere along the line?

She had sensed that something other than her was making him apprehensive, possibly relating to this structure they had arrived at, and she was curious to see what that was. Perhaps she would force a confrontation if she could figure out the source of it. Growth was important to mortals, if she recalled correctly.

The palace itself was mostly uninteresting to her. Marble, fancy gardens, silk robed workers, it was all mundane to her. Architecture, well, that she just thought was a boring topic. Bureaucracy didn't fare much better in her mind.

"Are we there yet?" She inquired of her guide, having grown impatient.

Roleplay from Kyryn Kye JeVondair

"TO DINNER!!" The child-like creature bellowed and Kryrn felt his heart nearly stop...this disconcertingly mismatched dichotmoy of such a big, terrible roar coming from the clearly alien, but definitely more girlish, formerly wyvern-sized daimoness.

Kylio, evidently, had forgotten to adjust her daimonic voice to match the less imposing figure she'd conjured.

"Wha..? Wh-..." Kyryn began, stammering. After he'd knocked, he'd already had his hand out in the wrote, courtly manner of a gentleman same as before. Kyryn was a mentally flexible man with a reasonably, at least in his opwn opinion, powerful mind. He'd use the ride to come to terms with the fact that he had a monstrous daimoness all-but on his back. He'd ready himself, prepared, but nothing could have sufficiently insulated him against the entirely unexpected, and so he stood their, rooted in place as Kylio recognized her...tell, and seemed to swallow deeply. A lump the size of a frog expanded her throat as it went down, and then she burped lightly. When she spoke again, her voice matched her appearance.

"To dinner!" She repeated, her voice matching the exuberant of children she'd no-doubt seen in the streets as they drove by. This time she took his hand, and the shock of contact shook him from the spell.

"I...erm...of course, Lady Kylio." Kyryn began, at a loss of what to do with the claimed appendage. He looked around, thankful for the noise of a trafficked castle and the fact that his guards, and everyone else for that matter, had granted the Kings guest a damned lot of elbow room. Which, of course, left Kyryn rather stranded. With no convenient options presenting themselves, he sighed, squared his shoulders, and turned into the keep with the little "girl" in tow.

Port Raviel was a mighty city, and had served as D'Hara's capital on more than one occasion, like back in his father's day. As such, it was more palace than keep. Oh, the bones of the old fortress was still there, beneath the new marble sheathing and ornamental gardens. The elegant gates still bore strong portcullises and artful arrow slits, and for every silk-bedecked courtier (many of whom Kyryn had come to know), for every one of them their was at least two soldiers out about the duties befitting defenders of a nation at war. Since his return to D'Hara, Kyryn had kept largely out of the public spotlight, preferring his work to the intrigues near the throne or the fires of war at the front. As such, he'd rarely every ventured to the "keep." Nevertheless, old memories died hard, and his sure feet took him to where he was certain the King would be. Where every Ravalian Duke had been to greet guests of import.

The Throne Room.

Kyomi was pleased that he'd acquiesced to her request, it'd have been something of a trouble otherwise, and might've broken the poor man. As the cart started to roll away she closed the curtains and set to work. She wasn't precisely sure how long she'd have, and she wasn't precisely sure what she wanted to do, but she did know that her current form was not conducive to dinner as she did not plan on making dinner of D'Harans, or at least not yet anyways.

First the antlers, which were already a problem inside the carriage's cabin, with a wave of her claws over them they curved and shortened to such a degree that they barely went over her head, more just barely rising above it and over the crest. Next, the claws, of which she thought for a moment before they, and much else were changed. The tail was troublesome, perhaps, and while she liked it, it'd have to go as well. The more she tweaked, the more she lost herself to it, and before long she lost track of time as she worked.

When they arrived at wherever it was they were going--Kyomi still wasn't sure--and someone outside knocked on the carriage's door, a different, though not entirely dissimilar sounding reply came, "One moment."

Kyomi put the last finishing touches on her new appearance, before opening the door and hopping down.

This was apparently less expected than seeing her previous form extract themselves. Certainly, no one expected a three meter daimon to hop, least of all out of a carriage. But three meters she was no more, and her looks were hopefully now much more acceptable.

Coming to a landing, she flailed her hands a little, now mostly human with only a few scales on the back of them, apparently having misjudged the momentum involved. Coming back to stand, she continued on to fix her light auburn hair and push it back behind her head and around her somewhat more white antlers, though it barely reached past her shoulders. And on her shoulders rested the straps and sleeves of a relatively simple aqua colored sleeved dress, which while loose enough for her to hop in, did go down to just a few inches above the ground.

This all made much more sense once the expectations one had of what would exit the carriage caught up with the reality of there instead being a cute little girl with small antlers that looked no older than six and not much more than a meter and a tenth tall (around 3 foot 9 inches).

Having properly found her balance, fixed her hair, and then made sure her dress was good, Kyomi looked up at Kyryn, and let out an excited, "To dinner!"
