no, this is incorrect.

A lord cannot have more than 50% of the estates, NO MATTER HOW MANY KNIGHTS. They cannot tax higher than 50%,  REGARDLESS OF WHETHER OR NOT THERE IS A KNIGHT.

BUT... their efficiency - and so their own gold - cannot be maximized without knights in the other estates.

So, a knight NEVER DRAWS GOLD AWAY FROM THE LORD, but CAN increase it.

That's the whole design behind the new estate system.

Honestly, whether or not you're right, it isn't what this thread is about.

If you're no longer playing BattleMaster, then I'm going to have to ask you to stop posting consistently negative, bordeline-trollish comments on purely BattleMaster-related threads. If you continue to do so, they will be moderated.

I'm not trolling at all. I am merely providing you with feedback. We have statistics to back us up, the number of nobles on Dwilight is maybe 2/3 what it was. Considering that you're only allowed one noble on the island, that's a significant number.

I mean, look at this:

Well, hey, if people are having fun where Asylon is now, I don't see a reason to complain.

It just sounded like Gundam Kuriga was not, in fact, having fun. (And I'm still not clear on whether he's actually playing on Dwilight anymore...)

I'm not playing a character. Also, please take a look at the statistics in the realm density thread. For the continent as a whole, we're right back where we started in regards to realm density, Luria being an outlier rather than the norm.

Yes it is. You seem to be confusing gold for lords with gold total. In order to extract the maximum amount of gold from a region for the realm as a whole, that requires knights. However, if we are just talking about the lords needs, knights are at best redundant and at worst a drag in finances, especially for rural lords.

1) I don't know RoTK beyond the name of it.
2) If the devs provide realm themes for a future iteration of the WI, they will absolutely, categorically, not be lifted wholesale from some other story, in any medium. They will be something that we create here.

Actually that's a historical time period. The reason it's nicknamed that is because of the book written about the time period which is called that. So you aren't lifting anything from another story, they're factual events that belong to no one.

This was why I was so against the monsters occupying the western islands. Our realms were more compact and very heavily populated compared to Morek, which was only ever going to be unpopulated because they did nothing whatsoever. That whole northeastern area was just empty space when it came to interaction with the rest of the island. Meanwhile Asylon, Niselur, and Barca were all finally forming a power block that is providing meaningful resistance to the traditional Sanguis Astroism bloc of theocracies. But the whole monster ordeal came in, trying to fix a problem that wasn't there for that side of the island. So here we are, half a year later. Many people from the west have quit, despite everything Morek still fell apart from lack of nobles, showing that the anticipated increase in noble density did nothing for that part of the island.

Any player seeking a meta-game advantage because he doesn't want to lose is bound to receive hostile feedback, regardless of the game and the community. It amounts to asking for special privileges and stands against fair play.

I don't think the BM community is overly negative in regards to this. If you went to play Risk! with a bunch of people you didn't know all too well, and during the game you almost get obliterated by a certain player who seems intent on removing you completely, and then by some miraculous chance the odds are turned and you are now in a position to wipe him out. If he started whining to the other players that you are a bad player and that you should leave him be, without offering anything in return, would that please you? I don't think anyone in that position would be all too found of that guy. Nor would the others being whined to.

Dude, I didn't care about Perdan specifically, I had other characters I could switch to if everything went to !@#$ with that character. No, it was the repeated refusal by the community to put the good of the game before their own immediate gratification that ticked me off. So many times I've heard the excuse that they would do something to change things for the better, then the "but it would go against my characters RP, so I can't" bull!@#$ comes up and nothing changes.

You all wonder why this game is shrinking, why don't you take a good !@#$ing look at yourselves before you start congratulating each other, because this community, which used to be really good, has really gone down the !@#$ter.

He is currently in command of the White Company within Hawks/Grand Fate. Not sure about his other characters, there is a character with the same family name running around Arimias.

If you see the Ishida surname, that is me. I make it a habit to spread my characters out, so that if something happens to one, I have others that I can play. I've done this from the very beginning of when I started playing Battlemaster, some, what, 6-8 years ago at the minimum I believe. So when people start coming in and saying "this is why you shouldn't play just one realm"/"this is why you should spread your characters out", it gets kind of annoying...

But anyways, to answer your question, yes, I did leave, and am not planning on coming back to Battlemaster. I am, however, playing Might&Fealty. I don't plan on quitting that, since the community is helpful and welcoming. I have a character in the White Company, a character in Linthain Plains of Ariamis, and another character in Ascalon. I also have a fourth character that I will not reveal the location of, so that I have at least one where OOC preconceptions will not have any factor whatsoever as a fallback character.

Being optimistic and openly showing your affection to the game is inappropriate and distasteful.

You do realize that this thread was made in direct response to a thread where someone said they were leaving because of how toxic the community was becoming? And the kind of passive aggressive sniping that created this thread is an example of why people leave this game.

This thread is dangerous. When there are even fewer people remaining, they will continue to pat each other on the back about how well suited this game is to their tastes.

For once I agree with you. It's almost sickening to see how much happiness they get out of mocking someone who is leaving.

I would just like to make it clear that I did have several characters in different realms on different continents, so it wasn't me being too involved in one realm. I mean, how could that even be? I'd been in the realm for only a short time.
