Feature Requests / Re: regarding infiltrators

Even the BT Invasion Death was opt-in, as everyone got clearly warned on time to get out if you didn't like it. I would strongly disagree with death by Infiltrators. They have good tools already.

I think (with a big emphasis on think) such things are possible but just exceptions that will be corrected if you run for elections or lose the position. If you secede, your Duke also becomes Ruler, which isn't possible in some Government Structures.

D'Hara:
I can confirm that it was in January 2011 that the Dragon King finally paused, after a long period of very little activity. We now have a republic ruled by the region lords.

Marche Telrunya is our Prime Minister.

Or some sort of Monarchy - Republic mashed up attempt there. Vellos knows a bit more behind that history, as my character had the pleasure of screwing the original plans up. My character was actually sad the King abdicated, even though he was strongly against him. I still wonder how we would have pulled off our alternate plans. It's a pity that never materialized.

I don't watch many movies, but my last one was The Usual Suspects, which I would strongly recommend to anyone.

I believe the current attitude towards the Zuma is pretty much 'Don't piss them off', as seen what happened when they didn't like the new Duke of Rettleville.

Ah right, I also recommend Boatmurdered, a sucession game involving a lot of hilarious stuff and quite famous within the Dwarf Fortress community. Might be a bit hard to understand if you don't know the game, but this actually got me playing Dwarf Fortress in the first place.

Great fun! And great difficulty! Don't be surprised you will not last a year with your first Fortress as they say. From time to time I start up a Fortress when I have some hours to sink into it. It's good to set small goals for each of your fortresses, I'll admit I never come too far ('Oops that trap system has one tiny flaw, now all my dwarves are dead', 'Oops, water' etc. etc.), but as they say Losing is Fun.

I do very much recommend to grab one of the Tutorials on the Wiki and go through that. They give you enough to do for your first Fortress and are pretty much essential. Also, the Lazy Newb Pack gives you Dwarf Fortress plus a graphic pack for nicer looks and some other handy tools you may or may not ignore in the beginning. Mostly, I like the graphic pack and the Dwarf Therapist stuff.

Never played Adventure Mode oddly, but thena gain I can keep myself infinitely occupied with Fortress Mode.

Looked at it for sure. Some interesting videos from Yogscast and TotalHalibut playing it. Sadly the main person I play online games with wasn't very interested in it, so haven't gotten it yet. Would be interested in setting something up with some BMers if they don't mind casual gameplay with not always the optimal results, to put it nicely. ;)

Feature Requests / Re: New Treaty System: Friction

I'm sorry if I misunderstood the request, but Ambassadors already can degrade Treaties if they so wish.

Or, if you're feeling particularly disillusioned toward your realm today, you can work to discourage people about the treaty, and make them think it's no longer worth keeping around

Other Games / Re: Mount and Blade (Warband)

If it wasn't for RL time issues, a game that was a hybrid of BM and Mount and Blade would blow my mind away.

Please! I like to finish my studies ;)

Yep, one of my other favourite games :) Big sandbox, going up as lowly landless Noble to managing your own Realm, excellent (Cavalry) battles and with a big battlesize and unlimited corpses on the battlefield, you get some really great pictures, especially after a close fight. The game has a few issues, but the mods bring a lot of extra playability and solve most of those issues and really enrich the game (And some are becoming as much as standard as Native, like the Diplomacy Mod). I don't even play the Multiplayer!

Only issue for me is that Warband has become unplayable for me with frequent crashes and lots of lag, even when I lower my settings. I was playing Prophecy of Pendor as well and it looked promising, but I'm now just hoping that future versions will allow me to actually run the game. The odd thing is that I didn't have those issues in the beginning.
