Maybe your computer is still using the old dns information.

Not... likely, no.

What would I do about a DNS problem?

Try browsing directly to http://5.35.247.190

If that page loads, it's potentially a DNS issue, but you'll want to keep in mind that even if that page loads you wont be able to play the game from that URL. This can be resolved by modifying your DNS configuration to use a known-good DNS server (such as Google's public DNS). Googling will give you all the information you need to do that.

If the page doesn't load, you might have some kind of proxy interfering with your connection, or just bad luck. Try refreshing the page a couple of times: if issues persist after waiting a few hours/a day, you might want to talk with your ISP to figure out what's going on.

snip

Everything you've said is correct, and is also designed intentionally.

The rebalance is not and will not be a stand-alone thing: it is part of an overarching project taken by the entire dev team to make the game as a whole more enjoyable.

So... because there's too much gold, we're going to increase the gold supply? I don't follow.

Read what I said once more and try again. I described a paradigm shift.

In order to reduce the amount of gold produced by rural regions enough to make selling their food a necessity, rather than simply helpful, the amount of gold that would have to be removed from their production would have to be (in aggregate) quite significant. In order to keep the amount of gold in the game more or less balanced, a comparable amount would have to be added to the cities' (and other non-rural regions') production. It doesn't matter whether it's all of it or just a lot.

Incidentally, this is the theory behind my rebalance.

The gold supply isn't balanced. There's way too much of it, so reducing it would be helpful.

The game currently has too much gold for how available food is.

However, it doesn't have enough gold to fund rural regions if they are to rely on grain. Which is why the rebalance is increasing gold across the game.

Anyone that believes Banker is a ceremonial title has no idea how to be a Banker.

He didn't mention any errors when he sent that message. Unless that was simply left out, there are two bugs here and conflating them will make figuring this out very hard.

Johnny never once, in the nine years I've known the guy, provided empirical evidence for his assertions about the Behexed Artillery.

That's like winning the lottery the chance to get that tiny.

I've done the math before.

It's actually easier to win the lottery.

It affects the fairness of the process. If you're going to have a procedure under the guise of ensuring fairness, you might as well try to make it actually fair. In this case, one side was being argued more than the other, and by some of the same people who are judging the case.

This is actually a problem common in American Media.

You may not appreciate this, but just because two arguments exist does not mean they are equally worthy of time. We aren't Fox News, and I'd rather we not try to be.

Honestly, you should really listen more to the people who have to play through this. having to deal with food CONSTANTLY really is stressful, and played a large part in burning me out until i hardly had any patience for the game anymore. this was a huge part of why i quit and deleted my account.

Honestly, you should consider who it is you're speaking to before telling me what I already know.

In the past, I was banker of Barony of Makar. At the same time, and through to today, I play the banker of Luria Nova. That same character currently stands as the single most skilled trader in the game. I became involved in the food system explicitly to determine what the issues with the current system are and how they can be fixed.

Without any degree of gloating, hubris, or whathave you, I can tell you as a fact that there is no one with as much knowledge about the food system as me.

I don't need you to tell me how stressful food is right now. I know what it's like. It's why I started this project and why I have put so much of my available time into working on a solution. I also understand the problems well enough to know that a band-aid solution will only make things worse.

Edit: Forgot a 'there'!
