Feature Requests / Re: Dynamic Army Assignment
« on: January 25, 2015, 04:49:14 PM »
Sorry for the late reply, I lost track of this thread somehow.

Of course I don't arbitrarily kick out non-vocal players. The only case where I always try to do it it when it's a drone character, usually a relative to someone higher in the hierarchy. And yes, as my character is the Lord he expects them to contact him. You don't move in somewhere without contacting your landlord, do you?

If new players join the realm I always try to send them a welcome message, so I usually have a good idea of who is new. Player retention is something I try to invest in. Even if they are unresponsive or dislikeable I usually let them stay so they can develop their character or just get involved in the game. I have kicked out knights on a later stage as well, though.

Usually after I kick out a knight without a word of warning it leads to a dialogue and the matter gets settled, and it often provides a start for a relationship to develop.

Huh?

29 monster+undead units, minus the undead unit that just crashed into Port Raviel, and another that moved out to Paisland.

So they do travel along sea routes?

Are people seriously complaining about war in BM?

Ugh. Here we go again.

The West is the only place where Dwilights frontier feeling can still be found. Trying to support one city against an onslaught of monsters would be glorious, especially because it would most likely fail. Candiels had 80K CS (or 60?) of rogues when it fell

Yes, the League are all buddies right now, but they weren't always, and they've got other plans than to sit around and play with their thumbs. Peace would not mean stagnation.

If anything, war is stagnation right now.

Perhaps my advy should make the long trek, then. I've been curious about Morek for some time now.

Can you elaborate?

When you attack a region that has overwhelming defenders, you get a report saying what the strength of both sides were, don't you?

And I thought that we could scout ahead of sea routes after traveling halfway?

Yeah for the sea-routes I honestly can't remember what went wrong. Maybe I should send an OOC message to those involved. Or rack it up to Skyndarbau starting to forget stuff :p as for the new sea travel, I think a message comes on preventing you from sailing around to the West of the continent (similar to how the blight worked on BT)

Sorry for interrupting, but is this still happening? I have an advy sitting around on Dwilight looking for a purpose in life :)

Atamara / Re: When was the last time Talerium did something?
« on: January 22, 2015, 12:15:13 AM »
Talerium actually participated in some of the fighting between CE and Darka, they just had an agreement with both sides not to cross into their regions.

That's the most Atamara thing I've ever read

Did you try "delaying arrival"? Usually, when you are in-between regions, 1 hour away from your destination, you get to look around, even if it's a sea route.

But indeed, I think we'll need the League to get together to bash at one city at a time, because everyone on their own I don't think any would succeed.

We tried to no avail. Also sailing around to land on another side is not possible

Pretty sure Fissoa would like to take back Candiels, too.

Jep. Sky has sent out a few units and advies to do some scouting but with no success. Captured by rogues upon landing.

Also Candiels was overrun by 60k CS of monsters, pretty much putting those plans on hold indefinitely :p

Downside

Effort for little gain. The devs shouldn't be doing this, and the experienced players who could don't have any incentive to do so.

I also don't know if it's desireable for everything to be spelled out in help pages. Most issues/questions can be resolved by asking ICly to senior realm-mates or contacts, or shooting an OOC message to established players. Or going on IRC.

Downside

This would be another factor that reduces communication between a Liege and his vassal(s) further hollowing out whatever remains of a feudal hierarchy.

Look at how taking estates freely has changed stuff: I can't tell how many knights have taken up estates without as much as a notification to their new Lord. Tbh I kick them out regularly in hopes that they will do better in the future (and obviously take them back if they open a dialogue)

You've not been listening.
Shizzle was specifically asking if admins would still frown upon a noble who does not hold onto a position for someone else, but rather uses it for some plans of his own and then announces an actual election (when the majority of the realm is back from the holidays).

I'm not very good at explaning things, am I? :)

Lastly I'll point out that Fissoa at one point was governed by a line of Regents who were waiting for the return of a true Grand Duke. I am correct in seeing no issue with this as long as (a) the True GD is an undetermined person at the moment of ascension by the Regent, and (b) the Regent is actually being a ruler so that the difference is purely RP-based. Nothing was being done to pressure the Regents in any other way than IG politics.

This isn't helping as the rule still is ambiguous.
