Feature Requests / Calling Taxes

apparently some (all?) realms on bt have been not getting taxes unless the banker (ruler?) calls it.

that, and the previous time it happened showed me something interesting though rather insignificant in the giant scheme of things.

building maintenance is a flat rate, regardless of time. (25 cost cf.  hundreds in income... in avengmil for example, whether the tax is 5 days 7 days or more)

anyway... i was thinking that maybe taxes should simply not arrive automatically every 7 days. make it the banker's job. or if position is vacant, the ruler does it... then judge, then general?

basically gives the banker something to do. though it is somewhat tedious. so perhaps allow the banker to set auto collect in X (or never) days in his settings somewhere?

1 issue is inactivity/griefing. not the same thing but same results.. no taxes called. though i don't see why people can't protest him out.

so, where do you see those numbers now? and I don't think those numbers are integrated with the current estate displays (GovernEstates.php or EstateKnight.php), is that correct?

Helpline / cohesion and dropping militia

on bt, i had a unit of 66 men at around 90 cohesion.
dropped 40 of them down as militia and now cohesion is 45%

eh.. why? if you get 40 of them killed, the cohesion won't drop.

anyway... eh.. warehouses get rolled back, but what about the caravans?

in bt, afaik, i got extra food, because i dumped some food into caravan to sell yesterday. don't think the caravan has gone anywhere yet, but still... it's there in the caravan page with food on it...

what about warehouses that were empty yesterday, but got a delivery today? if warehouse gets reset... but not the caravans.. then food disappears? (assuming caravan works.. not sure)

nevermind traders..

seeing as it only tells you about travel time between adjacent regions, I would suggest making 1st column open to all regions and then the 2nd column show only regions adjacent to the one selected in 1st.

of course, the way it's done now, you can sort of zig zag on the 2 columns to map a route.. pick A, find B, get distance, leave B in 2nd column and change 1st column to C, etc, etc.. which is also useful, which above kills off.

or perhaps leave both open, but have a tick box under both columns as "anchor", if you tick it, the other column only show adjacent regions? does that work?

Courtier - you are not (yet) well-informed about the realm's bureaucracy for this class.
Diplomat - you are not (yet) well-informed about your realm for this class.

ie... those text means insufficient time in realm, no?

not to confuse this completely with automatic transfer (ie.. auto caravans)....

specifically the sell section.

currently we have

Start selling for X price if there are more than Y units stored.
Where Y is a fixed number from a drop down list

Is it possible for Y to be a player entered number?

Is it possible for Y to be a floating number relative to the amount required until the next harvest?

ie.. if a region consumes 200 bushels over 10 days and a safety margin of 50 bushels.

would it be possible for the offer to automatically change over the 10 days

ie... sell if:
more than 250->more than 230->more than 210->etc?

so you could have a tick box or some such for the "amount required until harvest" and another blank box for safety margin.

shouldn't be undetectable outside of ooc inference.

ie... praising/badmouthing realm should have a chance of being detected. much like priest's preaching.

Perhaps badmouthing the realm of the region owner should even be illegal when caught (if the equivalent of priest's action is illegal)

Feature Requests / augmenting the usefulness of shared scout report

afaik, you share the scout the report and all you can see is it listed out in the scribe notes page and you get to see the total number of shared report in the standing orders section.

useful, but i think most people don't take any notice of it, and rely on the old fashion "report with pasted scout links" message

it would probably be better, if you get to see "X shared reports, Y new" (new as in new to the turn) or have something similar to to the new message number in the left panel... have a number next to "information" to denote the number of new scout reports from this turn... clearing the number once you've been to the scribe note page.

auto selling as a concept is easy... (that said, haven't tried it, can't imagine how it can go wrong though)

you set a threshold and send off a caravan with any and everything above it to somewhere else to sell.


how does auto buying work?
let's say you set a threshold of 1000 and your region has say 500 stored... so the region will automatically send out a caravan to somewhere repeatedly (1 caravan max per destination at a time?) until the threshold is reached?
