pfft.. every self respecting noble goes around with a bunch of dogs. if only to set them on the peasants.

I would like to ask all nobles to pick up the sword again, for we need every knight possible to defend the realm!  Our very existence is at stake!  For <realm>!  For glory!

i'm not even sure about that... as technically the only class that needs to pick a sword is a priest XD

I would say something really simple like "We are severely lacking in men at the walls. Send out the cooks and stablehands!" or some such would be a big enough hint.

no ... that's the message you get when anyone and their dog land in your region... including your realm mates.

whole point of schism is that if you don't like what the boss is doing, you fork it leaving him a tiny shard. ie.. same thing as currently starting a new religion except you lose all the infrastructure and funds.. which presumably a schism will address.

i don't like the idea that lower ranks can get rid of a higher rank in religion because there's a strict linear hierarchy. yes i know schism isn't in, but if you add in booting elders, then i don't really see it being removed when schism gets in.

the founder (or new leader after founder is permanently got rid of) does own it. as highest rank, you can boot out anyone but other priests (i think?). and if other priests were not trusted enough to be appointed over him in the 1st place before the founder croaked it, then you'll just have to arrange to have the new leader killed. rank = line of succession and actually does matter.

...why would someone not in the religion know what's heretic.. and faithfully report it to the elders of that outside faith... with anything but malice in mind?

he didn't want trees. just a straight line. asked about it a few years back.

You don't really own a religion

yes you do if you are the founder. you are the highest rank.... ever. you have power over anything in that religion. until you croak it.

and too bad wouldn't be the answer of nobles if they didn't like their new leader.
not a great fan of plasters that needs to be unpicked later if and when schisms are in. founding a parallel religion is the workaround for now.

if you are not a priest.. don't complain if the only priest gets promoted and does his own thing...

stewards.

but... it would probably encourage more lord/steward combos of same player.... anywhere but dwi anyway. (i admit.. i got a pair of those) - because you can just read command menu with the other char.

what if daily report lists out the number of bushels left after consumption and rot

eg: (whatever the original texts are...)
production can't cover consumption, X bushels take from granary
Y bushels found to be rotten
There are now Z bushels in the granary. <- the new line

i actually want to know how much shipping cost is subsidised via warchest atm I think it's 50%... need to read the text the next time I do it..... because it's a fair chunk of change.. and might be OP as it is. - money not spent on ship = money to spend on wages.

i suspect if you give a default possible range of between 0-50% or some such... perhaps some more capped than others, it'll be ok.

stuff like training doesn't really cost much and so a range of 0-100% is more than ok.

repairs tends to be more time consuming than money consuming.. - not saying it's not expensive.. but if you can afford that unit, you can usually afford the repairs. it's the sitting around for days that's the bigger problem.

travelling (which basically mean ships) should have a lower cap.. because gold cost is high.

recruitment/wages is out of bounds. no question.

For this to work, this feature is really more about how to allow a sponsor to not pay for certain stuff... than allowing sponsors to pay for more stuff.

certainly wouldn't mind seeing sea travel disabled, for example... not least because my wealthy hero with 80 sf drains the budget a bit i would think.

not sure about the recruitment part..

sailing from a harbour...

The Storm of the South war chest covers 32 gold of the embarking costs.
You are now embarking ships into the Eastern Drift.
The ships will sail at sunset.
It will take about 5 hours until you reach the open sea.
Thanks to the friendly harbor, everything goes smoothly and almost pleasantly. <-----

that last line... does that mean things can go tits up if not at a harbour?

1 bloke starts TO
everyone else join in with their action.

based on their action, you get some numbers for fear, sympathy. i think there's a "balanced" thing too.. but it's been a long time since i was anywhere near a TO.

every turn a check is done.. once a number pops over 100% at the turn check, it's done.
