East Island / Re: Duels

Duels don't happen enough in BM, in my opinion, because people preserve their characters to such an extent. Some characters I've seen to live to 120-130 years old.

Anyways I don't agree with JV's view that
Quote
...that here's creme and then there's crème

We all started as Knights and it's not like your character gets stronger with every title or position they gain. They are still human with the same capabilities as a Knight. It's only your status that has changed (and it's all in your head). Some players don't have the extra hours per-day to invest into this game to keep up with the responsibilities required for demanding positions, such as realm council, or are able to keep their titles due to lack of time. So they remain as Lords or Knights for majority if not all of their character's life. I don't think it's fair that you dismiss these player's character in such a demeaning way when this is a game and not their life.

More so, I would think that it would be extremely embarrassing and cowardly for Kings and Generals to shy away from duels every time they pop up. Especially from Knights. A King scared of a Knight? What a Milksop. I understand they don't want to lose their character but there are duels that stop at first blood (someone gets wounded but no one will die unless you're a Hero). On top of this is was common for Lords, Kings, Queens, or anyone with a hand of power to have a Champion fight on their behalf. Perhaps rather than dismiss the duel, have the Knight issue the duel to your Champion? If they are unwilling to fight anyone but you then I would see that as folly.

That's all I have to say.

P.S. I've been contemplating creating a guild designed around enticing more duels to be fought across the continent. Not to the death just to first blood. With all this chatter I may get it jump started sooner rather than later!

So were BoM and Norland, didn't stop them from packing quite a decent punch  ;D

Ah Norland. The infamous Squirrel army and never-ending piles of waffles. That was one of my first realms when I started BM, they were a riot!

This Fronen never really had any idea about what the original Fronen was, either. ;)

This map shows that BT hasn't been stagnating, despite the critics.

The original Fronen before it was destroyed in the 3rd invasion? I've read a lot of history on that and picked through the wiki but still don't know much. I played in Fronen back in 2011-2013ish during the massive 5v1 battles against Thalmarkin, Melhed, Creasur, Sint, and... Nothoi? I was rather surprised to see Fronen still on the realm list when I rejoined the game back in March of this year.

I also remember founding IVF with you from the mess of that was Enweil. I think I served as General with William Harte.. or was it Judge? That would make more sense. Less responsibilities. I definitely didn't get into my character as much as I do now :)

Abandoning their realm and lands to join Sirion. Help destroy First Oligarch and make it a complete North vs South war.

For everyone else missing out on the fun going down around Krimml and Akesh Temple, have a peek!

Crackling Magic   (1 hour, 35 minutes ago)
message to everyone in the vicinity of Akesh Temple
Magic crackled. Whether intentional or not, Krimml and Akesh Temple had become united by magic when the stones were laid within Akesh Temple. For years, Krimml had suffered near-constant windstorms since its portal stones had been laid down. Today though, all was still. Except the faint crackling of magic.

Three Walked On   (just in)
message to everyone in the vicinity of Akesh Temple
Three walked the streets of Krimml. A smith, a teacher, and a gambler approached Bellatrix. The gambler, a lady in green, greeted Bellatrix. With sobriety, she knelt before Bellatrix, offering a shield. Upon the shield rested a piece of parchment. The three walked on.

Three walked the streets of Akesh. A smith, a teacher, and a gambler approached Franklin. The smith, a man in red, greeted Franklin. With mournful disposition, he too knelt before Franklin. Head bowed, he retrieved a box and left it before the ancient hero. The three walked on.

Three walked the streets of Krimml. A smith, a teacher, and a gambler approached Rowan. The teacher, a man in blue, greeted Rowan. With much joviality, he knelt before Rowan. In quite a silly manner, he laid a manual upon the ground. A finger rested upon the manual. The three walked on.

Three walked the streets of Akesh. A smith, a teacher, and a gambler approached Jin. The gambler, a lady in green, greeted Jin. Revealing a scythe adorned with emeralds behind her robes, she knelt before Jin, laying the blade upon the ground. The three walked on.

Three walked the streets of Krimml. A smith, a teacher, and a gambler approached Thorgeir Mahtan. The smith, a man in red, greeted Thorgeir Mahtan. With a smirk, he knelt before Thorgeir Mahtan, laying a blade on the ground. Upon the blade rested a diary. The three walked on.

Three walked the streets of Akesh. A smith, a teacher, and a gambler approached Ricard. The teacher, a man in blue, greeted Ricard. With a coy smile, he knelt before Ricard, offering box and book. The three walked on.

Three walked the streets of Akesh. A smith, a teacher, and a gambler approached Sevonne. The smith, a man in red, greeted Sevonne. With cheerful disposition, he knelt before Sevonne. Eyes twinkling, shield was laid before the young warrior woman. Upon the shield rested a silver scimitar. The three walked on.

Portal Energies   (just in)
message to everyone in the vicinity of Akesh Temple
As the sun was rising, the crackling grew louder, and in the dawning light, sparks shot out from the column of light striking the odd commoner dead. Attracted to fellow portal stones, the magic contained within the portal circles sought union with more portal stones.

Sitting on a small marketplace wall, Etain of Shadowdale and Sheena of Nivemus were comparing insects preserved within pieces of amber while they enjoyed a bottle of wine. In a moment, Etain found herself being knocked to the ground by some fool and, then, sudden blackness. Sheena meanwhile had fallen from the flailing legs of the other two, and unable to grab hold of anything secure while falling, landed awkwardly with a painful crunch and shriek. They both missed the electricity exploding upon their satchels of four portal stones each, which the stranger attempted to save Etain from. Unfortunately for Etain, she knocked her head on the street a bit too hard and had to be rushed to the healers. Unfortunately for Sheena, she had a bone sticking out of her leg at a rather unnatural angle. The hopeful good samaritan disappeared in shame.

Oro of Nivemus was trying to fix her broken sword when sudden nauseousness overtook her, followed by an intense white light, as magical energy sought out the fourteen portal stones she was carrying; so intense was the light that Oro found herself permanently blinded.

Elermos of Fallangard felt a burning sensation on his bum when his two portal stones were incinerated by the magic lightning, burning the seat off his pants.

What we know is that Sirion's Prime Minister Ivo's character has an adventurer who put 7 (I think) Portal Stones together in Akesh Temple. Nothing much happened but it foreshadowed all of this! Looking forward to what happens next and actually a little bummed my character wasn't one of the nobles approached by the three! Oh well, it's going to be fun!

Edit: I'm told by the player of Jin that he now owns the Adorned Scythe of Dwilight condition 36% prestige +9

I don't think Vix will destroy Caligus. We are not realm-destroyers and my character can cause quite a stir when he wants to  :P ::)

Anyways, I don't think we even want to focus on Caligus anymore. There are bigger fish to fry.

As is Bastian, he was voted out almost immediately and I think the character was deleted? Rania no longer has him in her contacts and now has to deal with a rather ornery replacement in Duchess Nyx.

Bastian is here, wounded, but here. Not as chatty either since not being re-elected. Thanks for the compliment, at least you get Sheja for a bit. We might not need it since we lack food and Sheja doesn't produce jack.

Not entirely sure, but I think this has to do with the fact that the Moore player is a Ruler in a Republic. He can't give away the city because we have elected a Governor for the city and only they can change the city's allegiance.

As much as I know you want to kick off Obia-Syela in the south, you're gonna have to wait to come to a better agreement with Fronen than just dealing with Bastian. None of us agreed to his new terms to hand over the city. At this rate, he will not longer be Doge in 3 days time so I understand why you're trying to rush things :P

I usually read Fantasy, sci-fi, some romance, and other non-fiction.

How about some Isaac Asimov and his series Foundation? That stuff is complex though  :-X

Unless Greater Xavax gets rid of Selenia then I doubt the hunt for her will stop. She will bring the destruction to the realm and they will move to one of the northern realms to plot their revenge.
