Production already takes a hit when peasants mobilise.

It barely makes any difference. Usually they spawn pretty quickly. Also making peasants empty RCs + paraphernalia + no tax collection + no food production, will probably help deal with ruler's peasant summoning as well.

602
Wouldn't mind seeing paraphernalia buildings and RCs in the region losing all recruits as well.

I was thinking how about preventing regions from producing gold + food + recruits + paraphernalia when peasants spawn to defend. Until they go back, they will prevent the region from producing anything.

This will temporarily disable regions without destroying everything.

Probably the best answer Chenier.

Just calling elves humans works I think.

I remember people calling Sirionites knife-ears when Atanamir was around.

Just leave them be I say. Not worth pissing what few players left over something so trivial.

ROFL so he was the marshal as well. That is pretty funny.

Gained 6 morale from fighting monsters without losing any man. So Anaris was right about gaining morale from winning but it seems it doesn't happen often enough. It should happen whenever you are winning and not losing too many men I think. Maybe as long as your loss is less than 20% you gain morale while 20% to 30% your morale should stay the same?

For the past 3 battles where my character on a test island lost 4 - 0 - 9 men, his unit lost 2 - 16 - 4.

However, the unit retreated all three times.

Another character's unit on EC lost 10 morale while losing 0 man. The unit did not retreat and it won the battle.

Will definitely need more data but I don't think there is any good logic behind the morale gain/loss at the moment. So far, just losses and the result of battle doesn't seem to affect it that much.

If it is only happening randomly, it definitely should be ironed out a bit more. It should be consistent not random. That's why I think unless your men scatter, retreat, or held their line despite heavy casualties, you should gain morale. You don't see men cheering for victories for nothing when they win.

BM General Discussion / Re: Memorable Heroic Deaths
« on: November 18, 2017, 02:52:11 AM »
There are only two hero deaths that have ever stuck in my memory.

The first was the death of Rhidhana Dubhaine during the final battles in Krimml that led to the end of Fontan. That character was almost a physical embodiment of the ideals of Fontan and she was absolutely loyal to the realm. The death of the character exactly at the time of the death of the realm is the most fitting and poignant death of a hero I've seen.

The second is the death of Armstrong Ironsides in Oligarch when Sirion took the city. Again, it was an entirely fitting death for the character. Armstrong had become world-weary and wanted a meaningful death. To that end, he created the single-region realm of Fane in Oligarch knowing that Sirion would never accept it. Then he remained in the city fighting in every battle and hoping one would lead to his death. I can't actually remember whether it was a battle that finally killed him or whether it was a death duel. Either way, it was an heroic death that also led to a RP funeral in his home region that really was attended by friends and enemies alike.

I remember both deaths. Armstrong was not unfortunately killed in battle. I led the battle myself against Oligarch and thank god the city did not have peasant militias back in the days. I remember this because people were freaking out when we broke even during the first battle and some dukes I won't mention who wanted to pull back. We won the second battle that happened a turn after pretty easily. If I remember correctly, one of the high skilled swordsmen killed Armstrong in a duel.

I know men can become demoralized for losing their friends but let's not forget we are not recruiting peasants. We are recruiting professional soldiers who know what they've signed up for. I think they would be happy to have survived, won and gotten paid.

I also thought I'd never have a character like Zakilevo. But characters I had after him blew that character out of the water.

We might need to gather some statistics on this one.

I agree with this one.

In all my years playing BM, I've hardly seen any case on gaining morale. Even when my unit was never touched while slaughtering enemies. I think when you say losing friends, it should be strictly from your own unit. Despite this, I've lost up to 20~30 morale depending on how far away my unit was from their lands. Usually you gain morale not from battles but turn changes.

C'mon, Sirion is my Fountain of RPs. Also, there is a certain Lady in Sirion that my char wants to marry before thinking about leave.

Then, my historical responsability will turn into "You betrayed my father... BURN!"  8)

Gotta learn to move away from Sirion and explore other parts of EC, Eduardo. You will be surprised. First I was pretty bored with other realms but once you start putting more hours to figure how other realms work, you will enjoy them more than Sirion.
