To anyone who is having this problem:

When you get the error, can you please View Source on that page, and copy and paste everything up to where it says <!DOCTYPE into a reply to this thread?

Please use the [ code ] tags to make it formatted nicely on the forum (you can get them by clicking on the # button above the box where you type).

This will help greatly in figuring out just what is going wrong.

Feature Requests / Re: Mobile Version

If you know someone who designs mobile websites, let us know, 'cause we devs aren't really experts in that.

We have plans to improve the mobile version, but they're not high-priority plans.

It'll be a long while, possibly a never, before there are both enough nobles and low enough frequency of monsters to have any human conflicts down there. Aurvandil vs Madina is more due to the origins of Aurvandil, and otherwise would be an unfruitful conflict for both of them. (It is, either way)

They're spreading out enough, taking enough regions, that soon the monster frequency will start to go way down.  That will help.

And this would lead to people cashing out all their bonds for gold on tax day, so they would never have to pay the taxes.

No.

No, non-controversial means people who don't start trouble at every corner just for the hell of it.

I dare say Glaumring would consider Alanna controversial, and she never started trouble just for the hell of it.

The most logical answer, of course, is that it's still a bit spotty, and not quite finished ;)

*sigh*

Yes, that's a bug.  I swear I fixed it twice before, though.

Not if you pause that noble. He still stays in the same region in which he's been paused. Then when you need him activated again, go unpause him. Still not something you should do for real because that's another type of loophole threading.

Good point.  Gotta remove Ambassador status on pause.

The ETA is something that could probably be added, yes.

The route I think would work better on a little SVG map, don't you think? ;)  Arrows showing the travel from one region to another...

ah, to add to this, the only exception for this were infiltrators for a while, but as they currently cannot remove anyone with real power, they are made futile too.  :-X

That's no longer true with the implementation of the new wounding system.  It's not common, but an infiltrator definitely has a chance to put someone out of action long enough that they will lose their position.  I've seen it happen.

Helpline / Re: Current revision: 5432M <---
« on: May 24, 2011, 03:40:34 PM »
That revision number should be good for testing islands. That's both BT and Dwilight.

Stable islands are indeed farther behind. I don't think there's any easy way to determine the rev level of a stable island. All code revisions have a rev number, including new features. So if a new feature is not  moved to stable islands (like the the flagged messages), but a later bug fix *is* put on stable, then stable will be "missing" some revisions.

No, stable is on the same revision.  That was one of the important points about moving to a full testing/stable setup rather than a testing-copied-to-stable setup.

However, occasionally we devs fix a bug in testing and forget to copy that fix to stable.  If you notice something like this, just give a shout out (here or on the bugtracker) and we'll try and get to it quickly.
dev comment:
"Fixed in revision 5421."  <--- but it's not... (and i'm talking about bt.)

This was the one about duchy taxes not showing up in your regional tax display (RegionTaxes.php), right?

Well, the revision in question definitely fixed something there, though it looks like it might have gotten a bit mixed up.  I wasn't the one who fixed it, though, so I'll bring it up with the other devs.

A diplomat is free to move to any realm that has not explicitly expelled diplomats.

Other realms will tend to be moderately suspicious of any strangers.

If you travel with a unit, however, you don't need to worry about it.

Does "Off-Topic" mean "a string of non sequiturs"?

I don't really understand most of the technical talk, however that map seems to be quite an accomplishment. Could anybody enlighten me why? :)

This is why: http://topazgryphon.org/~tcollett/bm/SVGMapDemo.m4v

Note: this was my first time using QuickTime's Screen Recording feature, and it cut off my first few seconds of speaking.  The words that got cut off were something along the lines of "Thanks to Dominic's efforts in creating a".
