5th Felsite, 1051
The past month has been very busy, but without any spectacular results.  The dining room is complete, though, and we have made progress on the storage level.

Vabok Rullokum was quite excited when he returned to the fortress about a week ago from the brook, carrying his first catch: two fine salmon.  He is headed back out now to see if he can catch some more.  Whatever other problems we may have, it seems we will not have to worry about starvation here.

So does this mean we're going to start tracking disease movement among the peasants?  (Wouldn't an outbreak be a fun invasion?)

How about a zombie-disease outbreak? ;)

Tell that to Averoth who has mustered thousands of troops with only three regions and no cities.

Small realms have very distinct advantages that can be leveraged if the leaders choose to do so.

Um...

Averoth is not an example of the power of small realms.  It is a very clear example of the power of OOC cliques willing to exploit loopholes in the system to their own advantage.

What about the other way around then? a Temporary loss of Lordship. (I heard that one loses their lordship if they found a new religion).

So say Lord A of C was a prophet or w/e and decided to build his temple, but his King/Duke/HoneyBear wanted him to still be lord and quickly installed him again.

Would that be SMA or not?

That would be just fine.  There's absolutely no problem with a Ruler reappointing a Lord he likes.

...You mean one city state theoretically holding the oaths of several larger realms?  Papal states to Catholic Kingdoms kinda thing?  Wasn't that what Corsanctum was supposed to do?

Multiple people have talked to me, in the past, about making a sort of Vatican-like state out of Shinnen and its surrounds...

Was that from experience in Rio? I didn't remember that.

No, Pian en Luries.  Founding of the Order of St Iestyn.

Raise realm control, but never at the expense of morale.  Not unless morale is already as low as it can possibly get.

Do not hang rebels.

Do not conduct raids.

Normal police work and civil work until loyalty is above Hateful, which should let you hold courts.  That will get you a region that you can stabilize. Sure, it'll take a bit longer to get control to Core...but you won't have to retake the region four times because its peasants all hate you with a fiery passion.

Temporarily become a lord? That doesn't sound very SMA...  :(

I can say from personal experience that it will result in a temporary lock from the Titans if you try it.

Sorry, crazy weekend.  Will be doing some more today or tomorrow.

At a certain point, one would think we're asking for sentient AI.  :o

Sure. But that point is at least a parsec off ;)

The combat AI in general needs a lot of improvement.  This is not news to the devs  :P

Trouble is, it's not as simple as it sounds.  There's a lot of different factors that go into why units behave as they do in combat.

Feature Requests / Re: Adventurers Have No User Details

So if I send my advy character to a realm at war with the realm of my noble character, and the advy gets arrested for espionage, that's a wrong move by the person arresting my advy?

If you send your noble character to a realm at war with the realm of your other noble character, and either one gets punished for espionage, that's a wrong move.  Unless there's some actual reason to suspect such spying.

I think your real question, though, was "are people allowed to know the family my adventurer is associated with, IC?"  To which my answer would be "yes."  It might take some careful research on their part, but the characters would be able to figure it out sooner or later IC.

That is a completely different question, however, from, "Should people automatically assume that an advy's family is public knowledge?"

There is a big difference between playing within the rules and playing well.

Perhaps it has changed recently, but my infiltrator found it impossible to get any Infiltration gain from actually using the skill. He committed dozens of minor acts of sabotage against enemy realms (signs, burning warehouses, etc) at a low skill level, but not once did he ever get a skill increase.

Where have you been trying it?

Infiltrating against your own realm, you get no experience. Ever. You have to go against an enemy to get full experience from it.

Actually, it is not intended, but it's not really very high on our priority list  :-\
