All these questions, and more, will be answered in the next turn of Battlemaster!

Epic!

Yeah, I don't see it happening either. The only way I can imagine it is as the result of something the Great Peace on EC that ended with Fontan breaking the Federation with OR and Sirion. Possible, I suppose, if AT gets as boring as it looks like it might.

I still have doubts. If Ottar believes to have support of say Suville, ML and Darka/BoM in the future they might attempt to claim the hegemony rather than to have to listen to the slow (as they perceive it) imperial Senate.

A few things:

1] Why would you guess they will not attack Darka?
2] The biggest threat to CE's dominance is most likely Tara

On top of that, they won't bring half of that to the field.

Corian territory should be fun, as long as you make it so not to make anything impossible politically...

Colors are hard to see in the Barony with all the white.

Honestly, I think the upper half of Atamara is just waiting for Eston's terms to be given so there's at least some idea of how the map will have changed.

You're assuming that with Eston's surrender this war ends?

You're assuming Caspius was going to lose his conflicts, and that he was a poor diplomat. To every man his opinions, but Caspius did manage to keep Sorraine in a good position whilst being alive.

You're assuming an awful lot about Aeneas as well. He does believe in war etc, but not for bloodlust and that seemed the apparent difference between Caspius and Aeneas. He's also seen the CoI fall before and is hellbend to ensure it doesn't happen again. The political atmosphere which was left to Aeneas is difficult and needs to be handled first before the CoS wishes to accomplish greatness again.

This is interesting, and it seems a lot of people have some animosity towards Kerwin for one reason or another. It is truly interesting both from a historical aspect of the game and also for me personally as a player because I honestly only ever made decisions that I thought would be best for Eston, the North, and our cause (for what it's worth).

I'm not going to do it now, but this tomorrow or this weekend I will post here a sizable summary of Kerwin's decisions during the war, why he made them, and why I as a player made them.

Nah mainly Ottar demanding it as the only Taran measure...

That's easy to say. You are Aeneas..  ::)

Not really...although I do play Aeneas and do enjoy it. Although for some reason I always have the tendency to come into power when things are a mess...

BM General Discussion / Re: What makes a good BM religion?
« on: January 18, 2013, 01:07:38 AM »
The main issue as said is that you need some political power for a religion to do well. FEI for instance has a war between the Order of the Elders and the Church of Sartan, but very little actually happens in terms of crusades and burning temples or anything, why? Because the political powers (wisely perhaps in their situation) refuse to allow such religious war to be actually fought by members of their realm. Selene tried to do it aggressively and failed horribly in this case. We attempted to do the same in Ibladesh, again failed there unfortunately.

Although there are some positive points on religion. If you can get that power and tie important political figures to a church (and not just, hey I'm a member whoopwhoop, but actually tie them to you) then you can accomplish nice things with religion. As said, being part of a religion can get you that lordship etc.

I know for a fact it's used in more realms, although perhaps secretly.

Eston's refusal to attack/betray Coria may however save/aid them in the future. Eston is not dead (and won't be) so only time will tell. But they have shown to be honourable and to honour their deals. They may very well outlive Darka and BoM.
