Well I think it has more to do with the fact that defenders get chosen first and attackers second. If Redhaven was defending, then Highmarch is not allied with them and won't help. Then whoever wants a piece of Redhaven (at war or super aggressive settings etc) will have it and join in on the attack.

Gabanus, any chance of you doing this in something I can host on a website, in PHP perhaps?

I'm afraid that my knowledge on that end is somewhat limited.

The initial purpose of these scripts were to have actual challenges for me to expand my knowledge on coding. I'm not entirely sure how you would transform a VBA script into something webbased.

In the case of BM itself for instance I would imagine it may even be easier to just take a look at the part of the script that gives the layout of a battle report and in turn give a second option to change that layout to a wiki friendly one. In the BM code you already have the different variables after all, which I now had to retroactively reproduce as the source code was just a piece of text, void of the variables used to create it.

If you have specific questions or suggestions on how to do this and think I may be able to aid feel free to let me know though. So far I've only really been focussing on VBA and SQL though, so my knowledge on any other language is limited at best. Do plan on adding php within a few months, but will focus on SQL properly first.

BT is still recovering from the last Daimon invasion, and was only beginning to get close to being ready to get back into PVP action.

Well...there was the Angmar assault on Gotland.
And the Fronen/BK civil war.

But there were still enough monster action going on that nations like Thalmarkin, Obea, and the Vales were barely holding on.

Now there are so many monsters and undead hitting every nation except Obea that Obea is the only nation expanding.  Every other realm is being smashed back into something akin to what the Daimon Invasion just got done doing to them.

I can assure you that Obia'Syela is hit as well. Less so because our density is far better, but we're grinding down monsters after monsters still. We do have the largest army on the continent as well though, but even we are about to lose Rueffilo again because the monsters proved to strong.

And the fronen/BK war that was about to come resembled more a gangbang than a war though :p

Your welcome and on your suggestion I finished the InfoBox first, so it now shows everything. Second script is also coming along, but not yet ready:

** Update 7-6-2018: Managed to finish the second part of the infobox, so it now shows it completely

I've made a script a while back to make it very easy to put battle reports on the wiki to save them for all times. A few things to mention

1) It's in VBA, so you need to have microsoft word on your computer. If you don't, sorry.
2) I've described step by step how to use it, but if anything is unclear just hit me up here or on Discord:

I don't have the time to write a proper reply, but this discussion has been had on discord a few times and the answers were generally as follows:

Monster spawning depends on density rates. The idea is to get more nobles in fewer regions to actually promote interaction again. On Dwilight for instance, even without the big monster invasions, we hardly saw any pvp action and war. I do like the idea of the rogue range, but it will be quite some work I'd imagine.

BT also had little pvp action other than an upcoming assault of Nothoi/Fronen/Gotland vs BK (and whoever helps them), but it was just post invasion.

I've used/had use magic on me thrice for mostly RP purposes, that's it. The first was a healing scroll or smth on Catherine who wasn't even wounded (thus wasting it game mechanics wise) for a RP after Sirion used several scrolls on us. The second was the same but then on Garas to 'counter the black magic inside him' when he was mechanically fine.

The second was the healing scroll on Glory which became a rp event with 5+ characters with very minimal impact on the actual game. She would've healed soon enough anyway.

The key here is minimal impact. Mind you, when Garas was hit with 4 or 5 scrolls of accident in the span of several months, we roleplayed it more than the ones who cast it. Garas was blind for more than a IRL year due to one of those scrolls. I roleplayed the event and tried to turn it into something fun, not because I approve or like excessive use of magic with impact.

I can live with a little bit of super low impact and so far even with big impacts I've both complained about it (read back some other forum topics and irc logs if you don't believe me) and subsequently tried to RP it so there's atleast something good out of it. Don't mean I like it, simply means that's how I play the game. When stuff happens I use it for RP and to create actual stories.

You may find the attitude of complaining yet building rp around stuff like this hypocritical, but what do you want me to do otherwise? Complain and try to ruin the game for others instead?

Now that you have your answer I sincerely hope we can return to a proper cordial tone.

Like I said I don't mind magic much on for instance BT. But EC is tye only reap pvp continent remaining these days that still embodies Battlemaster as it used to be.

It's funny how nobody said anything when most of the Xavax leadership was getting taken out by magickal attacks on the regular, or when almost the entire population of Isadril just up and left.

Very funny indeed.

Not to break your balls, but I did say something about it. In fact I nearly quit BM entirely around that time as my char + realm was hit even harder. Garas back then was continously targeted by scrolls of accident wounding him half of the time. Problem back then was that magic was only used against Oligarch and later Xavax, so nobody else was bothered by it.

But I have been arguing against magic pretty much from the start. BM never used to have any magic at all, let alone this impactful.

Magic was never part of BM and slowly gained some presence, however it has gotten completely out of control. I understand that some may argue I should just evolve with my time but this no longer feels like the game I once joined.

My proposal is simple:
1) Keep magic on testing (BT and Dwilight)
2) Remove all magic from stable (EC and Colonies)

This way those who like magic can focus on BT, but we also have one normal pvp continent without this frustration on EC.

Application on stable code:
-Remove all witches, keep the sages
-Remove all scrolls
-Remove portal stones as posible item on stable

*Edit, RP wise I'm more than happy to open a portal myself and throw all my scrolls in, have several, and pray for magic to be gone from tge world entirely.

I will restate my absolute disdain towards such heavy consequence magic on any island beyond BT.

For me this is the final drop though, as it stands I'll just delete my char on EC and not come back for a while. I'll sleep on it for a night though.

G2 was always on that edge as well :)

I think most realms would've banned half of OS within a month, including G2 (before he became ruler obviously).
