BM General Discussion / Promoting M&F Crowdfunding

I emailed news@bluesnews.com earlier but it didn't make the nightly update.  M&F alpha did get a mention, so please send an email to bluesnews about this effort.  Exposure there would be awesome.

September 2013 Goals:

To Complete in September:
1. Implement in-game surveys
2. Impelement Realm themes
3. Admin data changes

To Continue:
1. New Player Experience
2. Doctrine conversion - 1543 out of 8543 lines of code have been converted
3. Continue to bring 4 new devs up to speed
4. Decide which island to close
5. Continue to squish the 181 bugs
6. Continue rebalance work

Simple idea, describe yourself when you started to play BM and why, vs you now.

I started playing almost 4 years ago when I traveled 5 days a week and was away from my wife and 1 child, but spent all day on-line.

Now, I have 3 kids, work locally, but spend 95% of my time off-line.

Title: Allow dead character to see sent messages


Details:  Currently, a dead character can read the messages they received for the last 30 days, but can not read the messages they sent.

Benefits: This will aid players in updating their family page after the characters death

Possible Exploits: If the player decides they won't return to the same realm, they could share the messages with the new realm.  However, nothing stops them from doing this now.

These may be bugs, or just bad wording.

I was capture when disembarking a ship, I had 17 calvary with me.  There was no other battle there.

Your ship has arrived at the coast of Port Raviel and is putting you ashore.
You are vastly outnumbered and cut down before you even reach the shore. This landing operation is a slaughter. 3109 of your soldiers die. Morale of your men falls 63 %.
Getting ashore takes most of your time, even though much of it is wasted in waiting.

Helpline / battle question - did not assist allies

Greetings all,

My character is in a region with an Ally.  A realm that they are at war with, but we are at peace with, attacked.  We did not join the battle.  Our units were sent to defensive.

This same situation happened about 3 months ago, but we did join the battle, and relations have not changed. (maybe someone had aggressive settings?)

Any idea why we wouldn't join the battle this time?

This is off topic, but how do medals work?  I've been playing for 4(?) years and have never been able to grant them.

Perhaps if you have 2 characters on the same island, their mortality rate is increased as the impact of that characters death is less impactful.  Personally, I'd flag all my characters for mortality as it reflects the time period they lived in.  (Life expectancy didn't reach 40 until the 18th century)

Feature Requests / Ability to reject a region from joining your realm

Title: Ability to reject a region from joining your realm

Summary: If a region decides to change allegience from Realm A to Realm B, allow Realm B to reject it.

Benefits: Why would Realm B reject it?  Treaty obligations, no interest in the region (wasteland), there's no plausible reason to believe that the region lord will actually be loyal

Possible Exploits: One issue I see is there would have to be a time limit so the region is not left in limbo. 

It would be interesting to see what happens when a region is rejected, do they go back to Realm A or do they become rogue..

BM General Discussion / Possible Rebellion bug?

Greetings all,

With the recent rebellion Lyonesse I am wondering if this is a bug because it seems like a rather powerful .. almost exploit.

1. Declare rebellion
2. King can not exile rebels
3. Loyalists rally at capital
4. Rebels leave capital
5. Loyalists have to stay at the capital to gain control
6. Rebel changes allegience on region
7. Rebellion ends with rebel keeping region lord position.

Questions & Answers / Removing unresponsive General

Greetings all,

About 3 weeks ago, the General of my realm openly asked if anyone was interested in the position.  Since then, they have no responded to public or private requests on their intentions, but has posted a random message in response to a battle.  They log in so they don't go idle, but that's it.

I think I have a command to remove them, but does that violate any rules?  I know the player has the right to be idle, but the character, if being played, does not.

Character 2: Repair 70% damage in 8 hours.

Same city.

I'm confused.

March 2013 Goals

Finish the Guild turn script Doctrinification - In Progress
Add auto-sell orders for testing - In testing
Add a button for Lords to allow the Banker to control their food. -Delayed - In Progress
Show the days remaining for orders on the Marketplace - Complete
Fix 10 bugs - 23 have been fixed!

Additions:
Food/Economy Re-balance - Complete - awaiting approval
Cause DNS Chaos - Complete

BM General Discussion / Please help - I hate my priest character

I have a character who has been a priest, in a very religious realm, for over a year, and I'm bored to death with him.

I want to like him, I want to play him, but most often I just log in to check messages and confirm that the regions close by are at 90+ %

Am I alone here?
