The Enweil/Riombara thread

I know I campaigned tirelessly for war with Enweil while I was Duke in Old Grehk and later when I was King. But that was just because Enweil went around the continent after the first invasion and forced each tyranny to become a democracy or republic. And they sat next to my city for a few days with a big-ass army as if it was their right to be there. So yeah... I felt pretty justified in trying to get OG and other realms to attack Enweil. :)

Oh yea, OG was in tha gank too, right?

I would totally not have been on Enweil's side to bring more democracies, but I do find it totally badass that they did that. :P

Has anyone noticed how incredibly overpowered Riombara's position will be? With the shadows just north unlikely to disappear, there will be only two regions at which to enter and invade. No matter how many realms or troops call for the republic's death, they will have to fight through a slender Riombara and all the way up the chain of islands, with no other alternative.

Whereas Riombara just marches the same direction each and every time.

Not like there aren't nations elsewhere with a 1-2 region entry point, I'm dealing with that right now on one server and its a flaming pain in the ass.

Who's going to invade Riombara? The distance and geography are going to discourage everyone except maybe a suicidal Enweil.

Most likely scenario is that the area will end up with at least one new realm. Taking and keeping 6 cities together in one realm is going to be hard.

Right. The geography tenfold since there's no northern entrance. Riombara, the place to be.

I completely agree that Riombaras current geographical position is immensely strong - too strong. Against a somewhat competent, united Riombara you'd need an alliance being at least three times stronger to be able to make any inroads. Thus I would very much prefer if the northern route via Fwuvoghor would open. It would give Enweil (or any realm based around Fengen/Enweilios) interior lines to both riombaran exits. However, we could not affect this as the blight to the north of us is linked to Midnight of the East and his successors - and despite Melheds multiple victories against that daimon he always did slip away.

So if the battles against the portal Guardians do not open more blight then all anyone outside of Riombara may hope for is internal fracture. Besides, as riombaran, having only one neighbour would limit choices considerably.

So - lets kill those beasts and endanger Riombara!

Well, first we have to defeat the daimons. Then we expand - which is fun. Then we found a new realm - fun as well. Give that realm enough freedom to pursue their own politics - and within a bit of time you have conflict. In addition we have internal politics - and an active playerbase interested in such things (at least in part). Forge or reforge friendships across Beluaterra...have interest in the conflicts in the north..I foresee more than enough of interest for the next months.

Don't forget several Religions potentially starting up here :) I agree there's still a lot of excitement to go for Riombara and potential for conflicts. And I think Riombara is capable of becoming overly zealous in becoming some sort of self-proclaimed beacon of justice on the Continent or something silly like that if they really get bored.

The small border will only be true as long as Riombara remains this small 6-duchy realm. I think it should use its army to take Enweilios and Fengen and become a 8-duchy realm.

To show a larger border to other realms, of course.
