Beyond is currently on hold due to other projects, and I don't know when it will be resumed.

It would go faster if I had some help. The problem is that Beyond is a lot larger than The Dream was. It may be too large for one person, at least for one person with other things to do as well.

If you want to help, there is one thing that is a non-negotiable prerequisite: I can not teach you programming or the engine I use. If you can use Unity 3D and either of its two scripting languages (Javascript or C#) well enough that you can actually help, I want to hear from you. If you know JS or C# and are interested, there is a free version of Unity 3D available for download on their site, and it's more than worth it.

I have the environments mostly set up, and I've bought a ton of models to use, so the artwork and content is also mostly done. What I need is help in creating quests, which is mostly scripting work, and in populating the scenery with more objects, making it more interesting. I could envision this being a kind of community effort, though with a fairly small community.

I was told there'd be free food here?  :D

Right, so I'll admit to very little actual knowledge about programming. My experience comes mostly from messing around with stuff like custom maps for SCBW and WCIII, made a short stupid little VN once, and...yeah. But I am interested in speeding up this process because I want to get my 100% run of Beyond done!  8)

Ok, so I can figure stuff out I guess, and I'm definitely not going to play a major role, if any, really. I guess I can go obtain the resources used in this game and mess around to get some things to work. The majority may be crap, but hey, it's mostly my time that's wasted and hopefully the guys who know what they're doing can spot it in time so they don't waste too much time. I am relatively good at the trial and error, go check the internet, keep trying it approach though, so...eh.

My cousin lives a short train ride away and he's some network admin or something so if all else goes wrong I could always ask him what the heck I'm supposed to do.

Right, so in short, I offer whatever it is I am capable of doing to this project just because I can. I'm sure I'll figure out some way I can contribute, maybe.

How many hours a week would you expect someone to work on it?

I've got some C# experience, but I'm mainly a C++ programmer (with a specialisation in games programming). At the moment I'm limited to only a few hours a week since I'm coming to the end of university and things are a little hectic, but a break from revision and report writing would be lovely for me, especially if it means I can actually work on a game instead of just tech demos for uni.

I've looked at Unity before and read through some of their documentation, but I've never actually programmed for it (I intended to for a competition, but ended up going with C++ instead).

So even though time is limited for me, I'd love to give it a go.

I don't expect any specific amount of work, as I can't guarantee any amount myself at this time. So anything is better than nothing, really. My main concern would be to ask people to think about it twice and make sure they're not going to drop out again after a week.

Currently I don't have much time, but after the War Islands is translated to Dutch, I expect to have some time.
I recently started to work with Unity3D and I already knew C#.

Well, I've had a nice long think and today it was suddenly sprang on me that we're using Unity for the competition (not C++ as we'd been going with for the last month or so). Which means I need to brush up on my Unity skills.

So if you're cool with me using Beyond as a stepping stone whilst I get to grips with Unity, I can definitely give time to it.

I'd only be able to start after 13th of May (date of my last exam) and dedicate all day every day to it until either:

A) I start the competition which is mid-June (stop work on it completely), or
B) If I don't get into the competition, whenever I get a job (which I'll then have to cut back the amount of work I do, but probably not stop).

Reviving this with a short update:

If anyone wants to join in - I would very much love to still see Beyond happen. There is way too much time, money and effort I already put into it to just call it quits. But I can not possibly do this on my own. I need people who can handle Unity 3D. Anyone?

I'm still interested, but I'll reserve my answer for a while. Starting a job on Monday, so I'll see how I feel with coding at work and then coding at home before letting you know for certain if I can help out.

EDIT: Btw, my Unity experience is still limited, however it seems fairly easy to use. I didn't really pick it up much back when I last posted. I did all the tutorials they provide a few weeks back and they seemed really easy to do.

Maybe if you say what needs doing, people can put their hands up and say "yeah, I'll give that a bash"?

I'd still love to see this happen, but it needs a team of at least 5 people - 2 coders, 2 graphics artists and 1 music/sound guy. And I don't see them volunteering.

If it doesn't happen, would you ever consider to releasing more of the background?

I'd love to see more backstory to the daimons, the undead, the monsters, and the Servants of Light.

I could make some music for it, i already make some weird stuff anyway....

making medieval music is a bit though as i don't have the instruments, but i do have some shaman drums, egyptian tabla, some ocarinas and a bamboo harp that could do the trick or come close.

All i need is a clear idea of what kind of tracks you need and what kind of emotion it should give.

PS: i think we had this conversation before, i posted some sound tracks as well, about a year ago or more.

Yes, we did. :-)

The problem is that there are still the other 4 people missing, plus someone for the sound effects (not music, but steps, doors closing, things falling, etc. etc.)

I understand, ill ask around as well.
Concerning sound effects, that could be doable as well, i can record with very good quality, plus i have doors. :)

In Canada, Colleges and Universities have co-op programs to give their students work experience, both paid and volunteer.  Where I work, students work on some pretty major projects for members of the community at no charge.  If this type of thing happens where you live it's worth calling the schools.  It gives them great material for their resumes along with practical experience.
