P.S - I loved how Quebec people had so many artists performing tricks. Never seen that before. I only see beggars here.

I don't consider it to be the same thing at all.

Performers can actually add to the ambiance of a place. Nobody, however, enjoys having pity-seeking beggars around. The first actually tries to do something to earn that money, and as such it's barely different than a real artist  doing a big expensive show in a Colosseum: it's just smaller in scale and the price being all up to you.

Nope, lots of friends who are attending or have graduated. I'm planning on quitting eventually and getting a degree. I don't feel like being a poor-starving student yet :P

I live just north of Toronto... I'd figure more torontonians would be here  :o

best views in quebec are definitely on the highways, the view of montreal as you come in is really cool: the whole wilderness, then suddenly a city thing.

the whole wilderness,

Which way are you coming? I had never before seen Longueuil described that way!
After all it's a roleplaying game.

Laval? Vaudreuil? Sorry, none of those ways count as "wilderness".

You know, there is also the east/west axis, not only north/south.

Then I guess one has to define "Montreal" and "wilderness". Lots of farmlands around Montreal, once you are out of the 'burbs. Lots of wilderness north of the burbs as well. Many people tend to view Montreal and the suburbs as being one and the same.

I guess I'd define it as seeing the skyscrapers. Most of the ways I know, you're already into suburbia when you see those.

Then again, I include St-Hyacinthe in suburbia. Some people may argue that it's farmlands already. One way or another, it's not wilderness.

You know, St-Hyacinthe has a pop of 53,000 and a density of 273.6/km2. It's surrounded by farmlands, sure, and I believe it offers many classes in agriculture. But it's a relatively large town. Never felt like farmlands whenever I stopped there.

Imo, the western routes to (avoid) Montreal are the nicest. The 138 west of Longueuil is nice. The 344 west of the the native reservation is hella beautiful. Well, maybe not past the whole reservation, just past all those tax-free cigarette stands... If you leave Montreal and get a little closer to Ottawa, the new portions of Highway 50 give some pretty good views, and the 148 from Montebello to Masson-Anger is also rather nice, with the quaint towns, the mountains to the north, the Ottawa river to the south, and farmlands, migratory bird reserves, and forest everywhere else.

Never been out east, sadly. I've always just remained in BC for the most part. Except when I go west. :D

Heh; I feel like BM has always had a large Canadian and/or Quebecois contingent.

Ya'll just need to get over the whole independence thing and let US annex you. And by US I mean the, 'Mer'cans. Not Americans, mind you: 'Mer'cans.
