Well.. From what Tom said, I thought only rituals can have lasting effects.
If that was his exact word, he might have meant lasting as in Duration 10.
The example Tom gave was twinned with what loren said:
In general the rule as I understand it is, magic breaks the laws of physics only during the magic, afterwards the real world takes over.
So if you magically move a house 20 metres to the left, it'll stay there once the spell is over because there's nothing pulling it back. If you move a house 20 metres upwards, it won't stay there once the spell is over because gravity is pulling it back.
