I have been playing LotRO for even longer than battlemaster, and that is saying something! It is an excellent MMORPG, weaving your character(s) into and around the story of the One Ring and the Fellowship, and also exploring areas to which the fellowship never traveled, such as Forochel, Angmar, Thorin's Hall, Southern Mirkwood as well as many more!
It is essentially free-2-play, with you being able to level up to level 30 without needing anything extra. You can effectively get most of the game for free if you are willing to spend time, or spend some money for a subscription (and/or purchase updates).
If you are at all an MMO fan, or like Tolkien's works, you will be poorer for not checking this out.
My main character is Baelorack, on Nimrodel, and I also have a character on Landroval named Berlson.
