Family Fame

I was wondering about family fame.

The wiki is very clear that you gain family points from certain occurrences,
but doesn't say anything about losing them when the awarding criteria no longer applies,
just says that you cannot earn it again this way.

Has this changed? During the last 2-3 months my family fame went up to 9, then after a while dropped back to 7,
then when back to 9, and now a couple of days ago went again down to 7.
I cannot be more specific, because i don't check on the fame daily ;-) so I cannot tell you the exact time between the changes, but I think it was at least 2-3 weeks.

I don't think that there were any significant changes with my chars to merit a family fame change, no mater how long a lag there is between the action and the point award.

I heard an explanation about this before, but can't remember. Maybe search the forums for it :)

There are some fame points that can accidentally be awarded twice. There is a clean up script that runs and identifies these cases, and then resets the fame to the correct value. Usually when someone notices their fame drop, this is the case.
