Good Job and yeah I agree with Tanos on smoothing things out. Those hexagonal hills don't look impressive.

It looks great. I'd add a bit of high-pass filtering at the zoomed-out views because of obvious tiling, but aside from that these are a big step forward. How well do the borders match up to the old map? I've not checked, yet.

Not too well I'm afraid. The connections between different map files were quite tricky, and I had to do a little copy pasting of terrain to connect them together (somewhere in the middle I had to add another river). The borders will probably need to be redrawn.

I see rivers that I cannot recall from the current map... 

Also, question some of the city image choices.  They look more like camps than cities :P
